LDARC 450x Wing .
This is the plug and play version with a flight control board .
Plug in a S bus Rx and go fly .

I have been so impressed by my 450x wings ( no flight control ) 2s Brush-less and 1s Brushed versions .. ( They fly great )
So I promised myself that as soon as the PNP was discounted I would buy one ..
And that was just recently .. Less than 100 ozzi bananas .
Hopefully get some more Rx ASAP .
If this thing flies stable and stability does a good job , I will put in a FPV camera .

Ooops . printing the wing right now . A long , long ............................ Long ! print time for the wing .

Like many, I just received a RadioMaster T16s a day ago - Second or Third batch, IDK. After having a first gen. Jumper T16 for awhile there's no real learning curve for me. Two or three of the buttons function are different and it only took a few minutes to grasp the changes. In less than a half hour, I had a model setup for the XK boards. The same model was duplicated for all with little changes made after assigning each model to a xk heli. I did it without opentx software - haven't connected via usb as yet. Got the amber sound pack and images to put on it and yet to back up the files on the micro card.

I had to open the RM t16s twice to mod the gimbals from left throttle to right throttle - so easy, I just smile. Then, I open it again to en-large the holes in the grid over the speaker that increased the sound output, again easy to do. I'm using the lipo from my jumper t16 for now and will try/use the 18650 li-ion later. I don't like the charging port at the bottom and looking to relocate it to the back. The side grips are different, so, will have to get use to a different grip.

I played around with both my modded k110s and my modded k130. Didn't felt much different than the jumper t16 and i'm not jumping up and down with excitement as it's not to much different than the jumper t16. My jumper t16 is the first gen and started having ribbon issues with a switch and the speaker sound. After fixing the sound three times, I left it without voice. So good to have voice again with the RM T16s. Already got a model for my fx070cp and will play with that soon.

Was it worth the 2 months wait and 130 usd. Yep...

Monty Python's Life of Brian ends with a happy tune: "Look at the bright side of life." There's even a cheery whistle. Now that I got my Black Magic pattern plane back in the air today, I can see the bright side of the tail damage done last week.

What made the recent grounding of my only pattern plane a bit gloomy is the upcoming contest next week. The only way I could continue practicing for the event was to fly my big 104" Extra 300. I had to set it up to respond very similarly to the pattern plane, so the transition back would not be hard. One of the items I changed was a new Flight Mode (FM3) to make the entry into the spin a bit easier. I could now make multiple changes to the control response with one switch. It worked great, but I forgot I had not copied the settings over to the pattern plane.

I got a big surprise today when I flipped to Mode 3 for the spin with my newly repaired pattern plane. There was no throttle control, no aileron, and the elevator went to 100% - full rate with little expo. I ended up snap rolling the plane into a spin. I regained control by switching back to Normal Mode.

I got the plane back on the runway and immediately found the error, then added the settings for the spin mode. The next flight went much smoother when I switched to the new Mode 3. No surprises!

Anyway, the new gear sets have been installed in the old Futaba S9650 servos that control both halves of the elevator. Although only one servo was damaged, I replaced the gears in both servos, since they were well worn. In the process of installing the refurbished servos I found one of the nylon brackets on a control horn had gotten worn and allowed too much free movement of the elevator. That also got replaced. Now, no more slop!

So, look at the bright side of life!

The Maiden Flight of my Parkzone F-27Q Stryker 943mm BNF (New / Old Stock) was a success!

Parkzone F-27Q Stryker 943mm BNF (New / Old Stock) Golden Hour Maiden Flight (4 min 39 sec)

I was fortunate enough to win this rare item on eBay a week ago. When I first saw this model 7 years ago at my local hobby shop, I was only a beginner, flying a Hobbyzone Champ, wishing I had the skills to fly it. I had passed it up at the time and had regretted it ever since. 7 years later, I came across this new / old stock on eBay and couldn't pass up the chance to have it in my fleet. And what an awesome 4-Channel wing this is! This flight goes through testing some of the basic maneuvers as well as knife edges, an inverted flat spin, and the boomerang.

Modifications:

1) Switched out the ESC EC3 connector to Deans.
2) Added satin tape to exposed leading edge of main wings.
3) Applied 2 spray coats of Minwax Satin-Finish Polycrylic.

Equipment, Setup, and Programming:

1) Transmitter - Spektrum DX8 (G2)
2) Receiver - Lemon LM0033 DSMX 7-Ch Diversity Stabilizer / Receiver
3) Gains - Aileron 8:30, Elevator 8:45, Rudder 8:45
4) DX8 Master Gain - Set to +3
5) Rates - Aileron 78% with 50% Expo, Elevator 80% with 48% Expo, Rudder 65% with 15% Expo
6) Lipo - Pulse 3S 2250mAh 45C (186 grams)
7) Prop Brake - Enabled
8) Mix - Throttle to Aileron Rate Set to -2% with an 85% Offset (to help counter the natural tendency of the subtle left roll while under throttle).
9) Throttle Timer - Set to 4 Minutes.
10) Hand Launch Throttle - 70%

Camera / Phone: Shot with an iPhone 11.

Halloa peoples!

so yeahh.. another sale or what? No surprice eventhough the Covid party did end up slowing down the slurry of sales
And is it then even interesting to have a look at this years Summer sale? As always a lot of price cuts aren't Really price cuts but it can pay off to check if your wish-list items have actually dropped in price

Hello good people,

Just sharing some experience with swapping over a good frontal bearing from a spare motor to my favorite motor that developed an issue with it's Frontal Motor Bearing. The spare motor was actually on this recently acquired Park Zone T-28 Trojan with retracts and noticed that my Batteries were coming a little warm, usually they come down luke warm. Please NOTE that the motor that came with this recently acquired Trojan did NOT have the Bad Frontal Motor Bearing issue.

Took apart both motors and with a little planning and caution, the parts were secured carefully. Both motor frontal bearings were taken out by lightly tapping them out with a wooded dowel and tested the bad bearing on the rotation bell of one motor and sure enough it made a rattle of a noise. (Video).

Swapped the good frontal bearing to my favorite (Stator) Park Zone 480 motor that always gives good performance and low AMP draw using the Master Airscrew 10 X 7 X 3. Static testing after putting together the flight motor yielded very good power:

EDIT: I found a good article about Brushless Motors at:
https://gympiemodelflyers.wordpress....shless-motors/

FULL THROTTLE: 183 WATTs / 17.3 AMPs / 10.7 Volts

On Tuesday (07-07-2020), I flew this recently acquired PZ Trojan from a local friend and it performed very well with very good airspeed but, again the batteries seemed to come down a little warmer than expected. I do hope that using my favorite Stator (Motor) would give better...Continue Reading
