Well here goes something new. My name is Bill and I love flying RC, but I have to admitt that I really love to build. It's fun to design something new or just bring history back to life. There's not a day that goes by where I don't see a picture of, or read about a plane that I want to build. The only problem I have is, the same problem that many of us have, I don't have room enough in my hangar or money in my pocket!
So here is where the NEW begins. I've decided to start building, painting, etc... for others.
I'm not going alone on this one either. My father, who happens to share the same name as me, is wanting to give this a try as well. He also loves to build and is in the works of making the masters and molds for a few fiberglass warbird kits that we've never seen modeled before. Hopefully we'll have them coming available for sale in the spring. In the meantime, if you find yourself tired of flying that same old looking ARF or BNF that everybody else has, we can make it look like one of a kind. As I've said before on here, we love to do the different or unusual.

Let me introduce you to Bill Aircraft Models.

I've been a member here on R/C Groups for some time, but I've never really taken the time to introduce myself and my interests in this hobby. My father taught me to start building and flying models when I was only about 4 years old. I hold him completely responsible for my obsession with aviation both models and full scale. Even when I was a baby, there was a mobile made from 1/72 scale warbirds circling over my crib. As I learned to talk, Mustang, P-40, and Zero were among my earliest words. I not only was taught to fly conrol line, I was taught to build, and yes even repair. When I was in my late teens, I taught myself to fly R/C by starting with gliders, and moving to powered flight.

I've always tried to have something different at the flying field. It's like when you hear about a woman being upset because another woman wore the same dress to a party. I am the same way about my models. All of these ARF's painted in the same scheme's drive me crazy. I like to build unusual aircraft or choose unusual color schemes. I've even started a couple threads on R/C Groups that were dedicated to posting pictures of unusual aircraft colors. That's one of the reasons why over the past couple of years I have started to build warbirds in civilian color schemes. I love building warbirds and learning the history behind them and the brave men who flew them. I have also learned that there is quite an entertaining history behind the surplus warbirds that still remain and the brave and...Continue Reading
