After several months, perhaps one solid year, I finally convinced my buddy to let me help him with his 2nd GEN pico Tiger Moth that he bought on-line when these were still available.

It is interesting that at times we get distracted or just too busy with Life's other demands and we happen to miss things that make Electric Flight not possible after selecting one's Power System.

Fortunately, my buddy selected a budget CD type Brushless Bell type of motor and most importantly the E-Flite 10-AMP ESC that has programming instructions up On-Line and so, I downloaded the manual for the ESC from:


First off, the Orange Receiver he was using was found to be defective because there was no movement from the servos whatsoever and I made sure that polarity hook-ups of the wires were okay. The motor was being armed but, it was obvious that the motor's "TIMING" was OFF from specifications and ESC re-programming was required.

Took OUT that Orange Receiver and placed one Spektrum AR8000 + Sat receiver and BOOM, the servos began to work! However, Motor was not working well still so,......

Turn everything OFF and went into programming mode and used the instructions within the Horizon Hobby E-Flite 10-AMP ESC manual and wrote down what I had to do to bring ALL parameters within the required settings so, things work and sure enough the motor started to work perfectly.

Items that were brought back to limits were having the correct Voltage Cut-Off for 2S (2-Cell Lithium Polymer) battery use and of course the Motor Timing for higher Pole (Outrunner) type of motor selection.

I can't say enough that Brushless ESC's need to be checked and re-checked for Proper Programming when you finalize your Selection of Motor type and use of how many Cells you are going to use with the final power system selection.

Had the pleasure to Maiden this fine flying model from E-Flite!

The Owner, Stanley asked me to take-off with his new model and perform the trim process. (I was the only Instructor there at the time)

The model was true and straight on the ROG (Rise-Off-Ground) to my shock and pleasant surprise.

Performed at least 4 laps and had the model trimmed and handed the transmitter to Stanley.

Hello good people!

During Halloween evening here in Central Florida (USA), I was able to acquire (purchase) one very hard to find Slow Flyer model known as the Bücker Bü 133 Jungmeister by ROBBE.

It was amazing how things worked out as my "WANT Ad" was not the first. Years ago, I put one out and someone else replied but, that person never completed any transaction. A nice gentleman this time replied and we were able to complete the deal last night so, things has stepped up into very good chances that I will be getting this model after years of being out of production.

I am super excited because this model really looks good (Scale) and it's a Slow Flyer model plus it's simple, Rudder, Elevator and Throttle control only.

A good friend of mine had it years ago and I was too busy with other models and never got around to ordering one and before I knew it, it was out of Production and Diamond RC, the distributor closed their doors and a few years later ROBBE went out of business as I understand.

Therefore, as you may perhaps understand, I am thrilled and super excited to finally acquire such a model that has been out of circulation for so long and not in production anymore.

Back in the day, this model flew very well with the Brushed + Gearbox and heavier Ni-MH batteries so, you can imagine with today's modern Brushless motors + advanced Electronic Speed Controllers plus most especially super light and powerful Lithium Polymer batteries it will shine even more for that super "Scale" Slow Flight effect.

Of course, when and if I get the guts to fly this wonderful model, it will be with the ultimate perfect weather conditions and the best radio gear.

Just a heads up for those that might have a JR XP-8103 laying around without any use and collecting dust like mine were.

About 4 years ago, I was given two (2) JR XP-8103 Transmitters from a very good friend that moved away and didn't want to move these with him. I have had these in storage for all this time and did the following:

1. Purchased some new 3-Cell, 2500mAH, 3C, Lithium Polymers for both.
2. Purchased Spektrum DM9 2.5G (Spectrum) Band module "JR" compatible.
3. Cleaned the radios and adjusted the sticks and that's it!

The Spektrum DM9 2.4G Module works like a charm, however, you need to place the radio in PPM mode and lucky me it was already when I powered it UP after 4 years in storage.

Now I have the better of both worlds, I can continue flying my older fleet that still has Super Narrow Band 72-Mhz radios and my newer fleet with the DSM-2 and DSM-X receivers. The JR XP-8103 was almost a top-of-the-line radio in it's day so, it's just amazing the quality and wide variation of switches and nubs!

It's been a little over ONE solid year since I bought my 2nd operational Park Zone P-47 Thunderbolt from a good seller over near Tampa, Florida (Ruskin).

I have finally flown it and the model didn't disappoint! It was amazing that I found someone selling a 7-Channel Orange Receiver during the GravesRC Swap Meet (9th Annual) and this receiver didn't disappoint as well.

The model took off and didn't require any trim.

This is an Amazing Baby Doll in the Air!


I acquired this model from a good friend on Friday and this Saturday morning I was shock and pleasantly surprised how well it flew.

Really light on the sticks and super smooth control.

I came across this thread just now

and a few days ago I came across another thread stating that there has been issues with the STOCK motor of this "RE-RELEASED" Parkzone T-28 (NAVY) 1.1M (44-Inch wing span) Trojan.

Of course the "RE-RELEASE" comes in the Horizon Hobby / E-Flite Box labels instead of the Park Zone.

The most significant post that I made over at this "other" thread citing issues with the STOCK Park Zone 480 960Kv motor was at:

I truly believe that Horizon Hobby has done their homework on their new 1.5m AT-6 Texan, as it is my thoughts that it is not only the light weight (low wing loading) but, the Airfoil shape they have developed so, it will not snap like a typical AT-6 airfoil and still have that scale look of a AT-6.

The devil is in the details and they (HH) has dealt with the stall thingy head-on and I am very pleased with it's ability of float in on landings so much at a low speed that a typical AT-6 airfoil will snap no matter how light you make it.

Well, tried to fly my Beloved T-28D Airforce and experienced a greater failure / damage due to the Lawn Dart crash from two weekends ago! The ESC just didn't want to ARM the motor. The onboard Castle Creations 35-AMP ESC just allowed the control surfaces to work but, never ARMED the Motor and a RED Light on the ESC kept FLASHING.

Came back home and did more troubleshooting and using other ESC discovered that the STOCK PZ 480 made some ugly noises upon start up and using a SPARE Motor, discovered that the Castle Creations 35-ESC was Toast as it didn't ARM a good known SPARE Motor.

Decided on the Model Motors AXI 2820/10 (1,100 KV) coupled with a E-Flite 30-AMP Switch-Mode ESC and this Power System will be very spirited using a 2-Blade Master Airscrew 10 X 8 Wooden "GLOW" propeller.

Since my repairs have introduced a new compound, at least for me and it has turned out very successful, I made a Video sharing my repairs for those interested in successful repairs of the Plastic Firewall and other hard components using the JB WELD compound.

Hello good people!

Please humor me here as I am just placing this to record my efforts on changing spark plugs. Since today's spark plugs last upwards to 80,000 - 100,000 miles then, this little job of replacing them are overlooked in all accounts, even though Spark Plugs are perhaps the most important part of your vehicle's ignition system.

My main goal is to show you a few tips about Spark Plugs and how they are very important to your Vehicle's Ignition System. My daughter's 2008 Avenger SE just surpassed 84,000+ original miles and decided to replace the spark plugs. It was just an extremely daunting task to figure out which brand, type of Spark Plug to get as there is just a great amount of selections. To play it safe I decided to go at the Parts Counter over at my local Dodge Dealer and they recommended a Nickel Spark Plug, V-grove and good for 40,000 miles. Why? Because the Avenger is not driven so much and is a pleasure car. The important thing to note is the Heat Classification and in this situation the selection was for a 5 heat rating, the factory recommended.

Many keep complaining about one or two particular issues with Toyota Camry's and keep Wide Brushing them to be bad just because one part didn't function like they expected and it really all depends on where they were made/assembled. Like in my case, my 1992 Camry made in Japan come with these plastic speaker covers with cloth material glued over them. Once the cloth detaches it looks terrible, however, another Camry made else where had a solid part made of plastic and no cloth material as shown in the pictures!

How many are still enjoying their Clipped Wing Cubs?

Make a LONG Story Short, my buddy just gave me his and it was missing the Fuse Servos for Rudder / Elevator and not trying to be ungrateful but, the power system is someone on the heavy and the propeller output shaft had a wobble.

I almost sold it and thought for a moment that the last time I sold a model without trying it, I got really sorry feeling as it just defeats the purpose of being in this hobby in the first place! This little Clipped Wing Cub is just so nice looking that I just have to see what it does in the air. Of course I have seen the Horizon Hobby Video of this model in action and make no mistake that I know this should be a graceful little model with lots of mild sport potential.

The very first thing was to take OUT that heavy power system and I ordered the recommended E-Flite 280BL Motor and the 6.8 X 3.8 Propellers. After 3 days I had the new E-Flite 280 Outrunner in my hands and wasted no time and installed it with one Castle Creations BL 9-AMP ESC. Since it didn't come with any FUSE servos (Elevator / Rudder), I installed two Hitec HS-55's in their place and let me tell you, it is with a LOT of Patience I am here to say that working on such a small RC Airplane like this one has it's challenges. It was a Royal Pain in the Rusty Dusty in installing the new servos within that tiny and small receiver hole while you feed the connector wire towards the back of the FUSE...Continue Reading

Hold on to your noses! Here's my World Models AT-6 EP of 44 inch wing span!

It's made of Balsa & Light Plywood (some Bass Wood now after two major repairs!).

Well, after making sure that this model has proven itself to be an excellent flyer, I have gone back and made some improvements to repair some nagging issues at the Firewall edges where the FUSE -to-Firewall balsa meet. Additionally, glued in some standoffs for new attachment points for the fiberglass cowl.

I can't believe it. This model has transfixed me something terrible and I keep going towards it.

I just might buy another one (New-In-Box).

It still Looks Good considering several crashes!
