Gyroo II is a pusher version of my Gyroo autogyro I designed a few years ago. It uses the same modular build technique in that all the main components can be easily replaced if broken.
It's only taken a couple of weeks to throw together and is showing great characteristics in the air. A build log is here as I plan to get it published as a free plan like it's tractor brother.

And a bit of a video of its setting up and maiden.

The second version of my Shifty design features a delta wing on the same fuselage as the canard version.
Test flight was a few days ago and all went to plan, it hasn't got the slow speed handling as per the canard version but seems to be quicker.
Here is an edited video of the first two flights., not the easiest thing to film.

This is my Shifty canard which took to the air yesterday for the first time. Designed around a little drone motor and a 3s 800mah lipo. It needed the CG shifting forwards after a very exciting maiden which calmed it down.
The idea is to use the the same fuselage design for two wing plans, this is the first with a delta to follow.
A bit of footage of the second and last flight of the day.

This is my Twister O/D tractor autogyro, first attempts didn't go to well due to lack of vertical fin area. It has since been modified and now flies extremely well, a few stills taken last weekend.

This is my Gyroo design which is featured in this months (May 2022) RCM&E magazine (RC model aeroplane in the US) as a free pull out plan, a cheap, simple yet robust tractor autogyro. Designed for beginners and also suitable for the experts who want to try their hand at auto aerobatics.
Features a modular build system so that key components are easily replaced at the field if ever needed.

Its been a few years since this home built model diesel engine was built but today I got a video of it running, made by Martyn Kaye . No9 of 14 made, capacity 0.2cc swinging a 5 x 2" prop and based on a British Mills engine just smaller.

We are now allowed to fly over here in the UK if we observe social distancing, so the first of my lockdown builds to take to the air is the BLINK delta.
This is kitted by www.angelwingdesigns.co.uk and went together really well.

It has all the characteristics of most deltas and goes well, here are a few snaps taken today along with a small amount of video footage.

I designed the Whippiteer at the end of last year and constructed over Christmas 2019, it now has a number of flights under its rotors and shows promise. Unfortunately we have been hounded with constant wet weather over here in the UK so its not been tested as much as it should have.
Hopefully this one will be published in RCME magazine as a free pull out plan this year (its availible in the USA but under another name which has escaped me?).

Here are a few photos taken in January along with its third flight.

A build log is located on the magazine forum HERE

Here is a very short video of a small micro glider 'Bitty' I have designed and made, wingspan is 600mm and is made from bits and pieces out of the scrap box.
For the cost it is bags of fun, here it is being piggy backed with a WOT 4 foamie, for the camera it was released at very low levels so I could capture it!

No nuts were damaged in the making of the video!

The last few months weather over in the UK have been wet and horrible, taking advantage of the 'build time' I designed and drew up a scale Piper Pawnee.

It has been flight ready for a few weeks. this afternoon after work the sun was shining and the wind had dropped for a change so I went out to maiden my newest creation.

The grass is still long so ROG was out of the question, a hand launch into the light breeze and she was away with just a few clicks of trim.

It flies really well and I soon drained two 500mah 2 s packs.

Wingspan is 900mm and the AUW is 350g.

I will add all of the finishing touches and wait for a decent day to take flying photos.

Thanks for looking in

Rich

My new design, 'Snap Dragon, was drawn up 12 months ago. My nan had just passed away at the time and she was a very keen gardener, Snap Dragon's were one of her favourite flowers hence the reason for it's name.
I have now completed two , the first was a small free flight version powered by a home made 0.2 Mills diesel engine. This flies well but required quite a bit of trimming and ducking to say the least!

I enlarged the smaller Snap Dragon to around 30" wing span and electrified it, using elevator, rudder and throttle for its controls. It flies really well and is quite relaxing to fly in calm conditions (which seem to be rare over in the UK at the moment!)

A few photos of my efforts, I am hoping to get this plan published in Aeromodeller magazine one day:

Nearly completed my new delta type model I have called the Whistler, really simple design using again solid balsa sheet wings profiled to shape.
Motor is one of the Hobby King Fun Fighter types and will be powered with a 4s 800mah Lipo.

A week and she will be ready.

My new design goes against the grain being a fixing model. I am hoping it will pick its feet up a tad! maiden has yet to happen as the weather in the UK is not favourable, but it shouldn't be to long.

1700 Kv motor with 350 watts on a 3 cell 2200 Mah Lipo.

Like the others it has got 2 chances!

After some fine adjustments and larger fins I now have my Canard flying pretty smooth. Looking forward to flying it over the winter months.
