WAOUH !!! Reçu depuis seulement quelques jours, je n'ai pas pu attendre plus longtemps pour tester le nouveau WIND5 LITE de HGLRC ! La conception et les matériaux du châssis lui confère une excellente résistance aux chocs pour un poids mini, son électronique est performant et fiable (Zeus, Eolus, Foxeer), et sa puissance INDENIABLE ! Bravo HGLRC pour cette évolution du WIND5. Les seuls petits reproches que je pourrais faire c'est que la sangle me parait peut être un peu légère pour une telle puissance, on aurait aimé du Kevlar, et le VTX qui ne développe que 350mW ne sera certainement pas assez efficace sur de longues distances mais largement suffisant dans les 500m.
Sinon, vous l'aurez compris, ce petit monstre de puissance a tout pour plaire aux amateurs de sensations fortes en 6S et ravira les débutants en 3 et 4S par sa fiabilité et sa résistance aux crashs ! ... Bon Film et merci à tous pour votre soutien .

Pretty disappointing RPM's with the large 70 turn motors. Built up a new board to allow direct control of all the enable pins, which got it up to 272rpm on 10V. It would need 35V to hit the required speed with no load, 40V for margin. The next step would be reducing the turns to 20 & increasing the current.

Trying the motors with a sensorless ESC got them up to a slightly faster RPM but much less torque. Standard ESC's can barely get them started on 12V but use the current a lot more efficiently. The size of the motor drastically increased the required voltage for a given number of turns by virtue of the resistance.

Over the years, lions have avoided cleaning flux whenever possible. It's manely necessary for adjustable regulators. It otherwise might improve water resistance.

Well, I finally got it right!

As some that have posted warned me, this heavy model just could not fly "or" in other words, I have to thank a higher power for giving me the common sense of NOT horsing this great looking model UP in the air with the weak AXi 2826/10 power system and just 3-Cells! That maiden attempt resulted in some slow speed taxi runs!

Replaced the Electric Power System to the SUPPO 3520/6 (840Kv) and swinging the APC 12 X 8 E propeller while using the 4-Cells, 4,000mAH, 35C, Lithium Polymer Batteries.

I must declare that I was very pleasantly surprised in the manner this model handles itself up in the air. That Long FUSE Boom really allows this model to perform some wicked aerobatics should you decide at the controls. This made it worth while after struggling in trying to get the model's Center-Of-Gravity close to where it needed to be. Again, this model in it's early life flew with the Thunder Tiger .46 Glow Engine and it tipped the digital scale at over 16 ounces. This made things pretty challenging as there was really not enough selections of a Motor with this weight and having respectable (KV) parameters (Revaluations per Volt) to keep the Cell count low.

I decided NOT to remove the Impact Socket underneath the bottom end of the FUSE (Frontal) as it allowed a very good mid-point Center of Gravity with the new power system at 11+ ounces (Including ESC). It is amazing how much weight was required up front to balance this model out. I would say this Carl Goldberg Tiger-2 is very well constructed to say the least.

I had noted a long time ago that Arm1s Extra seemed to be easy build and at least on paper looked as a good flier. As I had sold my 38" Skywing Edge last winter I was short of smaller plane to fly on the nearby farm field (using asphalt walkway as runway there). And as weather get worse and worse, I decided to build a replacement from all the parts I had laying around.

I'm still waiting for the maiden, so can't comment yet on the flight performance, but the build was quite fun & rewarding. Check full 1m MiniExtra story!

I have just finished building the wings for my Kaos hack aerobatic electric powered model.
The method uses a tapered carbon tube and was inspired by the current generation of F5J sailplanes, which commonly use a parallel tube I think.
I made the tube using a pool cue as a mandrel.
Layup for the tubes was:
1 inner layer of 60 gsm plain weave glass fabric on the bias.
1. layer of 300 gsm uni-directional carbon.
1 layer of 100 gsm plain weave glass fabric on the outside, mainly to provide some torsional stiffness and to hold it all together.

The foam ribs were all cut together using the so called "laser method" and the holes to take the spars were all cut the same way. A pilot hole was roughly cut to thread the hot wire through before power was applied and it was then guided by hand around the inside of the holes in the end templates.

Spars glued to the foam ribs with PU glue.

1mm balsa caps glued to the ribs with white PVA glue.

3mm Pauwlonia sub LE first, then a final 6 mm Pauwlonia LE glued on after the caps were all fitted and trimmed.

The construction of the flying surfaces is all described elsewhere------I think?
Pintle and gudgeon hinges, otherwise known as "Pocket Hinges". 2 mm carbon rod pintle.

30 micron laminating film covering. Nice stuff to use!.......Dirt cheap and very strong.

Today's lesson was the hall effect sensor needs to be a long way from the magnet to get good results as an angle sensor. 3mm was all the room in the motor mount. If it's too close, you get large areas where the sensor doesn't pick up any flux. If it's farther away, you get more flux in the dead areas. This might be caused by the flux lines returning to the motor shaft instead of the magnets. The same thing might not happen in the joysticks.

An algorithm for converting 2 sensor voltages to an angle is a buster. The sensors never return the same voltage twice, so it ends up being a pythagorean therum problem which has to be optimized. A conventional sensored speed controller is just concerned with whether the sensor is N or S, so it can use a simple lookup table.

The Imperial Japanese Navy (IJN) had a Type 99 Number 80 Mark 5 bomb that was 92.1" long, 16.1" tall. It weighted 1,756.6 lbs. or 796.8 kg. This bomb was strapped underneath the lead level bomber on Pearl Harbor. I made a 1/9 scale version that is to go on my B5N2 Kate. It is just over 11" long. There are two propellers at the end of the tapered tail that serve as fuses.

My first version was crooked and the planking was a distraction. A second version isn't perfect, but acceptable. One note is that I hid a basswood plank under the planking so that I can drill into it and mount it one day under that plane....Continue Reading

AIH motorcycles found life in the early to mid 90s during the time that New Harley Davidson motorcycles was in such high demand that the average man had to get on a waiting list in order to get one. Some models with over a year wait. That led to people looking elsewhere which therefore blew the custom motorcycle scene into a whole new world as for popularity & sales.
AIH became one the industry’s largest custom motorcycle producers in the U.S. & in many people opinions set the standard of what custom built motorcycles should be like. Everything was built in house on these bikes except for the Seats & S&S engines if I’m not mistaken. All were assembled in their Fort Worth, Texas shop & some were sold on site & others sent out across the U.S. to be sold by AIH dealers. Unfortunately by around 2008-2009 AIH had changed hands several times, filed for bankruptcy & eventually all assets liquidated including the AIH name & trademarks.
Here in upstate SC these AIH bikes are somewhat rare to see. They def are not out on the roads as often as you see others. This particular Tejas bike was found & purchased out of GA as a original 2 owner motorcycle w/ approx 12k actual miles on it. Originally when this bike was sold new back in ‘05 it had a price tag of $27k.

Yeah !

Trim changes - Digital trim changes appear to do nothing .
Analogue trim changes appear to do something .
Analogue - Undoing clevis - then rotating to adjust elevator trim .

Came home , and put in some more analogue up trim on the elevator .
Once I get 6G flying the way it should have out of the box , I can then trim 3D .
Trying to fly 3D mode when 6G is Fubar is just silly .

I found a loose stab on preflight caused by a broken CF stab joiner. I separated the 2 pieces and used the shattered ends as ends for the tube . I used CA and Monocote backing to glue the cracks shut. I found an inner CF tube and turned it down with 80 grit paper while spinning it in a Dremel. I used about 1.5 inches to joine he 2 clean ends together using CA.
I has to insert the repaired tube into the plastic fuselage hole one way as there was a repair bump that restricted entry.
This plane and parts are discontinued so parts are hard to get
