This is the outdoor flight review video for the XK X130-T RTF Micro FPV Race Drone. It is a user friendly setup for the first-time FPVer, much like the MJX Bugs 6, only much smaller and less expensive.

XK X130-T RTF Micro FPV Race Drone - Outdoor Maiden Flights (5 min 10 sec)

Review Notes:
- An easy to use RTF package
- A good beginner FPV package
- Handles wind well
- The video looked surprisingly good through my Fat Sharks
- Carbon Fiber Frame
- True 5.8 GHZ FPV
- Stability and Acro Mode
- High and low rates
- Long flight times (8 minutes)
- Readily available batteries
- A great value
- Compatible with BS - FHSS protocol radios
- The range was good with my Fat Shark FPV Goggles
- It was very fun to fly

Cons
- The antenna is vulnerable and delicate
- The props are very bendy and fragile (The curled a little in the cold air during the outdoor flights)
- The elevation dropped more quickly in forward flight than expected for the pitch
- It is 1S, so there is a ceiling on power

Howdy people

allright.. not Really a RC proeduct in this thread, eventhough I do regularly use this phone when flying a video-quad
So.. I recently ordered up a new Smartphone from Gearbest. Originally I had not really planed on doing a review of it, but the other reviews I came across omitted some crucial info.. So I decided to do a review of it anyway

Here's something I bought and I'm doing a review on for my youtube channel, Mike's RC Corner. This is the WLtoys 20402 (Agility) 4wd Monster Truck. It's 1/20 scale so right there it's something a little different. The specs claim this truck does 45km and it is indeed quite fast, it definitely needs the wheelie bar that comes with it. It's super fun to run that's for sure. Here's my video taking it out for spin and testing to see what it can do. I've reviewed a lot of RCs and I'm impressed with this one (and it's hard to beat the mid $50 price tag).

Long time since my last entry , been very busy with life in general ,not getting much time in the workshop . Hopefully That will all settle down mid 2018 with a new house and a
good size workshop . I really am itching to build something new and big ,but again it will have to wait . I am trying to get time to work on my Higgins R10 and hopefully fly it at MSF18 . i also want to build a new set of wings for the Hudson as I decided that the wing loading was way to high to survive a landing ,we will see how that turns out till then thats all from me.

Oh man if I could parlay my RC addiction into something that produces enough cash to cover my rent and to replace my wrecked airplanes... I've got the hang of flying, I've got the hang of filming, I've got the hang of editing. But I've made a hundred videos and only have 49 subscribers, not even close to bother turning on ads. I'd like to shove my fledgling channel into search visibility, which might take a thousand subs after which I suspect it becomes much easier to accumulate more.

Take Flyin' Ryan. This guy makes simple RC review videos, the format generally is several minutes split in half, the first half talking about the plane or helicopter or drone (usually drones), and then he flies the thing in a small room, banging around the walls in a lighthearted, comical and endearing way.

Silverlit - Pico Falcon (2015 World's Smallest RC Helicopter) - Review and Flight (7 min 56 sec)

That video has 2.6M views, a no-budget video of a tiny Radio Shack-tier heli. No script, not much editing involved; it might take maybe, I don't know, three hours to produce a clip from unboxing to posting. However long it takes him it's definitely less than I spend on a single two minute clip. I go crazy trying to perfect everything. Here's my desk working on my next video. Overkill, I know, and proof of no return on excessive editing; but I'm a bit OCD.

If he monetized that well, that single seven minute video might have already made him in the neighborhood of five...Continue Reading

This ought to be interesting...AMA is offering Insurance to Commercial Drone Pilots while performing their 'Official Duties'.

I wonder if this works like the non- existent Insurance offered to current members that collect AFTER your Homeowner's Insurance has paid all they will be responsible for ???
I did hear that one guy got around $1100 from AMA (token payment ?), after a $20k loss was covered by his Primary Insurance...

I'm just guessing here, because AMA won't release the actual numbers, but I would imagine AMA has collected a couple of mil in insurance payments, wouldn't you guess ? And there it was, in Black and White- an $1100 dollar pay-out !

All is well with the World.

BYOD have just had the opportunity to build the almighty Strix Goblin for one of our good customers!

We are used the following hardware / setup;

-Stock STRIX Goblin propulsion system (Motor/ESC) w/ APC-E 6x4 Prop and Gensace 4S 4000mAh 25C Lipo
-Eagle Tree Vector Autopilot /OSD w/ GPS
-Runcam Swift v2 Camera w/ 2.3mm 150FOV Lens
-ImmersionRC 2.4Ghz 700mW Video Tx (supplied by customer, we used our ImmersionRC 5.8Ghz 25mW w/ Spironet Antenna for test flying)
-2.4Ghz Cloverleaf Antenna
-TBS Crossfire Long Range Tx & TBS Crossfire 8ch Diversity Rx
- FrSky Taranis X9D Plus Radio

The Strix Goblin model flies extremely well, very smooth with a wide speed envelope and has docile handling near the stall. However it's important to make sure that your control throws, expo, CofG and reflex are set up accurately, follow the manuals recommendations. We feel that more experienced pilots could handle a little more control throw, starting with the recommended is a great place to start.

We were impressed with the material quality and fitment of the air frame parts. The finish on the foam wings is fantastic and could be prepared very quickly if you wanted to paint them. The servo's, control horns and push rods are ample for the job, but we would recommend using loctite (non permanent normally blue in colour) on the push rod stoppers for extra security. We found that a couple of the wing bolts did not line up perfectly, but the holes can be slightly enlarged to fix this...Continue Reading
