More extended birthday party favors for me in the works... ive been mulling over another set of motors for a while...

the 6s venture is well on its way, 2 in hand, 4 more coming.

Soo i decided to continue to support one of my FPV Heroes with another set of his motors, the new Blackbird v2 tmotors in 1950kv.

My current v1 set that is still in the air is gonna be retired for now, had two sets of the v1's going for a minute.

6s!

covid sucks. but making the best of it. spending time with my kids and wife. i fly a few packs by myself when i feel the urge. kids school just started and their remote education setup looks promising.

the heat has been bad. most of this summer ive been flying from my auto. seems to work pretty well altho the heat still gets frustrating.

Lunch Breaking (2 min 48 sec)

My wife quit her job so now I don’t need to come home to let our dawgz out on my lunch breaks for the time being and we’ve been having awesome weather. Looking forward to a little more flying soon.

I have not had as much time to get in flights lately. Before the holidays i had one multipack saturday, and a brief pack a few times and wanted to post something. A lot of my footage was not that great so i edited most of the decent content out of what i had available.

Saturday No Fresh Props (2 min 5 sec)

FalcoX BeeBoppin (8 min 1 sec)

Really loving this falcoX stuff. If you are tired of trying to tune consider giving a flightone fc a shot in the future.

i got around to installing my new esc and motors. Tmotor Black Bird special edition 2750kv 2207.5 and Flight 1 Spark 32 (20x20 mount) i wanted to try my iflight motors w my falcox millivoltosd fc prior to soldering up my new motors and this 4in1... no flight test yet.

FalcoX Newb (2 min 58 sec)

not the best footage but im digging this millioltosd quite a bit. Havent had all the time in the world to fly much lately, but got to burn a few on saturday (four before one of my skitty Hakrc 32shbit escs gave up on me (two of four so far)).

I need to tame my roll rate a bit, but i got my pids to not bounce so much and this was my best pack. Trying to get a bit juicy but im old so yeah.

Hakrc 32bit esc single four pack from amazon has been disappointing. One fried after prearm on my maiden trip a week or so ago. swapped out w a 32bit esc i got from a friend. flew it a couple times. Sat after fourth pack, swapped new battery and second hakrc esc didnt want to light up anymore... lame for real. i ordered a replacement so should be in the air again soon. I have a nice four in 1 32 bit esc and some new t-motors i will be implementing soon, but for now im seeing what my 2306 2450 iflight xing motors can do on falcoX. im liking it a lot.

The presets really are convenient and have been quite a bit less frustrating then betaflight has been so far. Betaflight is cool, but always needing to find my tune has been a bit depressing the last year... i havent been able to fly as much, and when i do needing to work the tune it out isnt what i want to do honestly.

The millivoltosd isnt perfect. My voltage readout in the osd has a bug which hopefully will be resolved soon. and im kinda not the biggest fan of the all the connectors, but they work. I crashed the other day and had black video bc the cam connector popped out. BUT i like the performance over all.

It’s been a few years so finally got a few premium upgrades for my ‘birthday’.

Got a Crossfire Micro TX bc yeah, and a very premium set of motors(on their way still). The crossfire is setup, did the hardware mod on my qx7.

After lots of endless frustration w betaflight I figured I’d give Flightone a try. Josue FPV kinda got the notion in my head and I’ve been kinda stagnant and figured why not. I have not gotten everything going yet but I should be in the air in the next couple days if not today.

I m getting over pneumonia which was no fun.

I also upgraded to some hkrc 32bit esc’s.

Let the cartoons begin.

My new youtube buddy Josue FPV has been helping me get my tune a little better, still needs work as do my Juicy skills, but anywho more digital garbage for looking upon...

Quick AM Flight (2 min 56 sec)

Running a TBS Source 1 v2 with v3 arms (they're holding up quite well i guess).

2306 2450 iflight motors, heavy ass quad 705g (has a hero 7 on it w nd4 filter), hq 5x4.3x3 props.

TBS Source One v.2 Another Broken Arm (0 min 59 sec)

another broken arm on my TBS Source One v2, at least the third in two weeks ive been flying it... :/
Posted by LemonC | Jul 20, 2019 @ 12:40 PM | 16,046 Views
The arms are beefed up, extra 20x20 mount holes behind fpv cam on the main plate, main plate now has sunk nuts on it whereas v.2 had sunk nuts on cross brace. The v.3 therefor mounts the cross brace on the complete bottom, v.2 the main plate was the bottom with cross brace cutting into stack space potentially. V.3 has more fpv cam mounting holes, and the mount has a wider footprint now also.

Im crossing over to a new frame. The Source One is affordable and i like the open source nature of the project, 3d print files should be plentiful, TBS is a very reliable brand also...

First pack, i did break and arm, but i had ordered some extras, SWAPPING the new one in was very quick. less than five minutes. one of the screws does screw into the stack, but it didnt really upset the stack when i swapped in the fix at the field (normal a do at home thing for me)

I hit a metal awning and fried my fc during session two... Swapped my bardwell v1 from my old quad frame into the Source One build...

Flies well for my purposes so far. Hopefully the first broken arm wont be a repeated thing. I basically hit a small tree and rolled...

Xing 2306 2450kv added. Flew two packs on it this morning. Was nice. One arm is cracked unfortunately and no spares for sale anymore... :/

I also got to test out the new FOXEER v3 stubby lollipop antenna. They were wonderful compared to my old beat up pagoda. I was a bit worried the battery might interfere w the stubby but it was really good. I had an aomway 4 leaf and a patch on my aomway goggles. The reception was very good even when I flew behind myself w light trees in between. Definately good value so far. Not sure how long they might last though.

stubby does seem to black out if i get in the wrong orientation... upside down nose pointed towards me gave me a blackout twice so far... :/

Great buy.
0603 motors are sooo much better than my previous brushed setup for sure.
after lots of youtube research and consulting with some local whoop racers, i decided to upgrade the motors prior to getting into batteries.
went with Happy Model 0802 19000kv. When i did the swap, i also swapped my frame and replaced the camera mount with a small 3d print bit, which left my flyer weighing around .25g LESS than stock (dry, the scale was tippin a bit)!
Flight time was also increased, due to less amp draw of the 0802's...!

For props im using eachine 010 stock props reamed out to 1mm.

Ive come across the notion that using a solid pin jst connector will also help reduce inefficiency, i placed an order to try out some OG solid pins aswell, altho so far that mod has not been performed.

Batteries so far: on hand i have some tattu 220's, some eachine 250's, some racedayquads 250's and now some GNB 300's (got the 300s after the motor swap). the eachine 250s perform better than my racedayquad 250s, and the 300's give me about 30sec more than the stock eachine 250's. Next im gonna try the GNB 260's...
