Over the years, many fellow RC pilots have asked me where I get my pan & tilts. I assume many would like to fly scale HT FPV like I do, but commonly available P & T's all seem to have obvious faults. So for my 2021 new year resolution, I set out to develop and produce one for sale that solves all the common faults. After much delay, I have achieved that goal!

Introducing Motionsic B.A.G. (BadAss Gimbal) - the most practical pan & tilt making head-tracking FPV easy!

Designed for use with DJI FPV Air Unit camera and FPV cameras 20mm width or smaller including Caddx Air Unit, Nebula Pro, Polar, etc. it fits easily under most RC plane canopies 40” wingspan and up. Can also be installed on RC cars, crawlers, boats, or copters for use with a head-tracker to give realistic in-cockpit visual experience.

Compact - fits under most RC plane canopies, needs only cylindrical space 40mm diameter, 50mm tall for full movement with the FPV camera

Easy to install - use included screws and nuts to affix camera and platform to plane in minutes

Smooth/precise movement - includes 2x all-metal gear, digital, premium ball-bearing servos made by Savx in Taiwan (compare with sh0257mg, $35 retail each). https://www.savoxusa.com/products/sa...hnical-details

Check six for bandits - custom servos allow the camera to pan 280 to see 360 (with camera field of view), tilt up 80 down 45

Easy to adjust camera height/level to scale pilot eye position by adding/...Continue Reading

Trying to recreate flying experience from inside the cockpit of a Zero fighter, doing aerobatics and mock strafing using head-tracking FPV camera and scale functional Ravi 16 reflector sight in a FMS Zero (1400mmvspan). I also dubbed authentic Zero engine sound from the only flying Zero with original powerplant in the world at Planes of Fame Museum at Chino, CA. Enjoy!

FPV Flying in Taiwan: Strafing Yi-Jiang Bridge? (6 min 24 sec)

It's worth noting how real trucks appear so small in the gun sight. There's hardly any time to aim from the time that the trucks are visible. My Zero was going maybe around 40 mph in the gliding turn. I can't imagine how tiny a ground target would appear in a real WW 2 fighter going at 2~300 mph from much farther away

Ps. Field safety rules and local RC/drone regulations were observed in this flight.

Pattern flying from conventional line of sight perspective is easy to tell orientation, but flying from scale pilot perspective require different references to keep the pattern precise. This videos shows flying precision aerobatics using head-tracking FPV like a fighter pilot would see.

We all have airframes that have not been flown a while. Maybe its outdated, under powered or just isnt as flashy as the latest and greatest. But flying one from the cockpit perspective can make you giddy like kid again, even with the butterfly in the stomach feeling of learning to fly all over - with Head-tracking high definition FPV.

Like working out, its better to have a partner to urge one along skill advancement. Same with formation flying. I love formation practice with my buddy Alex. Its early yet in our training. We will get tighter as we progress...

My friend Alex invited me to fly his FW L-39 setup with DJI HD FPV system as chase plane as he flies a FW F-14. It was an eye opening experience, since I am not used to the speed flying FPV in jets. And the DJI FPV visuals are gorgeous. My fingers could not stop shaking the whole flight, so exhilarating! I will need to setup one for my own.

Feast your eyes in 1080P on large screen. The visuals are stunning. Near miss at 2:00....

Even when starting from an advantageous position at the Tomcat's six o'clock. Trying to keep the reticle steady on target for a couple of seconds is not easy. The outcome is all but certain. Or is it?
