I recently got my hands on a ToolkitRC M8S "battery charger". They label this thing as a battery charger because they had to call it something. The truth is, it does far more than charge batteries. The naming convention ToolkitRC in this case is certainly not misplaced.

KEY SPECIFICATIONS
• DC Only Charger
• Input Voltage Range 7-30v
• Charge Output 400w at 18a
• Output Voltage 2s-8s
• Battery Types: LIPO, LIHV, LIFE, LION 1-8s, NIMH 1-20s, PB 1-12s
• Display 2.4" TFT LCD 65k Colors
• Discharge Power [email protected] Regen / [email protected] Internal
• USB Charger 5.0v @ 2.1a
• 98wx68lx35hmm

OVERVIEW
The thing that separates the M8S out from traditional chargers is the valued added functionality they include. In addition to a capable charge capacity of [email protected] (Confirmed on my YouTube Channel https://bit.ly/2QDOX02), the M8S also measures PWM, PPM, SBUS, IR, and has a simple 18a limited watt meter. In addition to measurements, the M8S also outputs PWM, PPM, SBUS and get this--it has a built in power CV/CC power supply supporting 1-30v out @ 1-18a. There are three functional categories on the M8S - Charger, Measurer, Output.

CHARGER
I ran bench tests using a 6s5000mah Turnigy LIPO as the input power supply and 2 6s5000 in parallel on the output side. The M8S quickly jumped up to 17a and happily hummed along charging the 2x6s packs at 400w for the duration of the test. Since that worked out to a ~2c charge rate, and my...Continue Reading

Maiden flight of the Alula EVO , at the Shell Ridge slope.
Alula is Latin for winglet or little wing. It is the diminutive of the noun "ala" (wing).
The Alula glider was designed by Michael Richter, manufactured by his company Dream-Flight , https://dream-flight.com/

This plane was purchased , (used) , from my "cousin" Marek S. , and needed some TLC.
It was cleaned , and covered with Doculam , aka "the new stuff".

A lightening hole was added to the vertical stabilizer. AUW is 200g.
I still need to optimize the location of the Center of Gravity.
Wind speed was measured at 8mph.

Note the smoke from the massive ongoing fire.

The CDC lists 7 chronic, non communicable diseases as the leading cause of death in the country. I estimate that virtually all of the US population will have at least one chronic disease by 2050.

While such diseases account for 71% of global deaths, the number of deaths relative to total global population remains steady at 0.5% - only 1 in 200 people die from them.

Getting close to finishing my Electra. I joined the Fellowship of Christian Modelers last week and was inspired to use the Jesus Fish (Ichthus).

The overall scheme was inspired by Harley Michaelis’ Genie Big Smoothie. Harley is a friend who is now 99 and designed competition sailplanes for years.

My favorite design part of the Electra was the hidden elevator control port. My least favorite was trying to get the CG right given the light weight of today’s motors and lipos. I moved the two 9g Servos up to the firewall and used Sullivan Gold-N-Rods the length of the fuselage. 8X4 folding prop, 2012 Motor, 30A ESC and Spectrum AR410 Rx.

So my initial budget of $500 is almost maxed out already.
Still need an engine, I've been following the kit instructions so I'm destined for a Zenoah 26cc or clone.
These babies go from $150 for the chinese copies to $500+ for insane hot rodded versions.
Hoping to find something for around $200.
I plan on starting the build next weekend.

10 Episodes ...

A little better than boring !
Very predictable , a little slow moving . Star Trek fans can see plots from a mile away .
There was the odd twist here and there ( a nice surprise ) , but over all ?
Some what nice to re-live treking , but at times it was slow moving .

I watched all 10 episodes in one sitting and if I had had to wait a week for each episode I may have lost interest .
Patric Stewart is getting a little old to be a action star and I much prefer him as a wheelchair bound professor X .

Oh well , it was nice to see a lot of the old Next Gen actors back in the saddle so to speak .
For me it was just a little plot thin and cobbled together sort of slap stick . But if like me you have the Covid 19 blues , it just might make for a half decent time waster . Especially if your under 23 hour house arrest and have curfew and martial law so to speak .

Wow! It has been a long time since I had an opportunity to fly my Glue & Fly™ Series F22 Mini V3!
I can feel the Rust ;-)
I thought I'd have some Leisurely Flights to get comfortable with this Parkjet again.
It's been way too long to have not flown such a great parkjet.

Haven’t thought of the Jesus fish (ICHTHUS) in years. The Fellowship of Christian Modelers uses it almost like a loopy control line turn. At any rate it got me thinking about the white top surface of my new Goldberg Electra.

I created the pattern using PowerPoint and had to experiment three times to get the scale right. I printed on paper the outline, transferred it to cardboard templates for each part, and then traced them (backwards) on the protective coating of red Monokote. When I cut out the pieces from the original printout, I saved it as a template. The Windex allowed some freedom for alignment. I squirted the glue side with Monokote and let it dry in your place, checking a couple of times with the template. After an hour, I used my iron at high temps and then went over everything lightly with my heat gun.

Took me some time to set the Beitian BN220 GPS sensor up. I made this video so you can save some time. It's awesome to have on your OSD data like speed , altitude and distance and direction to home. Love it!
