Well its been finished and flown about half a dozen times now. I had a CG Mirage 550 electric kit NIB and always loved my dads electric version so I decided to make a slope version.
1st built the fuse and sheeted it a second time crossgrain for strength.
2nd threw away the original wing parts and tail feathers
3rd had Dan from Xtreme Gliders cut me a styrofoam RG14 wing then I balsa sheeted and balsa LE
4the I cut new tail feathers from 1/4" balsa and made solid feathers in the Citabria shape, I just love the way they look.
5th assemble, monocote, electronics CG with about a pound
Independent ailerons, no rudder, 51 inch wingspan(called for 54), and an AUW of 3 pounds 1.1 oz. and flies beautifully; rolls fast, pumps high, turns and burns
Very happy, now just need a highway patrol badge under one wing and big CHP letters under the other, like the one you see on the way to Vegas

INext is the Graupner Der Klien 60" free flight/HLG/electric/slope, my is just a slope/thermal glider. It weighs in at 10.3oz!! Its from the early 90's I believe balsa sheet wing and tail. Fun when there is no wind.
