At last, I got a clear canopy.
Big ICON A5 from DZ hobby, selling by Hobby King now, has a big canopy. The original built-in one is too dark to show cockpit.
Maybe everyone wants to replace a clear one. At last, I finished it today. Making a clear canopy was terribly hard job.
For me, try this one was beyond my boundary, but I wanted clear one cordially.
Since last autumn I imagined how to make it, but I couldn’t imagine how to make. I made the first step to make was in December 2011. Every time, I found sure approach, I took a step. It took about a half year to finish the clear canopy.

Regards

Hi all
I still have been modifying a s288 ICON-A5 by Hobby King or DZ-Hobby; its origin seems the same.
Now I'm seeking the suitable angle of motor thrust. From many experiences of landing, I got more up-thrust adding a wood block.
It works better. When I move the throttle down quickly, the plane didn't apt to its nose up.

Hi all

I was asked about the mixing way to touch down more easily on s288 ICON-A5.
So I descided to open my mixing program widely.
The s288 ICON-A5 has a tendency that when you cut a motor power suddenly from horizontal flight, it’s inclined to nose up. The tendency is not big though, it’s a little difficulty to descend the plane without any control.
If you are accustomed to fly R/C airplane, you may have elevator down slightly to keep its speed, or to make it to be in a gradual decline.
The Mixing from throttle position to elevator makes control a little easier.
The throttle curve from -100% to -75% has gradual gradient. This range matches to the plane keep a speed and gentle declination to touch down.
You should not to flare just at touchdown, or the plane starts porpoise.
The easy avoiding way from porpoise is to power off immediately when the plane has a first touchdown.
Let’s enjoy!

At last I finished hull's modificatiion.
The last work of the fuselage was to make main steps of hull.
There is a question whether I should replace dark colored canopy with a clear one or not.

Hi all

I had some advance making ICON-A5 by DZ hobby. I built in head lamps and fog lamps.
Small key-chain LED lights are useful as its brightness is enough even in the day light.
Yellow LEDs are good choice as fog lamps.
Now it’s time to make more.

I agree small ICON A5 is groove. Even though a little luck of buoyancy force moment to lateral direction, as side-floats don’t have enough distance between both, this design gives us the opportunity to open the future design.

This model flies well and pretty smooth in calm circumstances only.

When we fly it In the cross wind, its fuselage side geometry forces us hard to control on the water. And more, its hall shape isn’t suitable to take off from the water. Both side edges of the hall are dull, so the water running up along the surface of the fuselage. The water makes the fuselage down force into the water. This calls for more power to take off. This looks not smart like the real plane. I added plates the both side edges of the hull, from nose to the step. The plates bounce the water and gain the lift.

Hi, I’ve finished making the nose gear hatch.
I constructed it on a hull that was made by vacuum foaming.
The hull is made of thin plastic plate, it’s reinforced by FRP.
Even though, it still has flexibility, the each center of hinges needs certain continuity.
I made the centers using long carbon rods. This way seems to be correct. Even if the hull will be vended, the hinge shall work.

Still constructing ICON A5
The second big challenge is to refine propeller position.
When I saw my friend’s DZ ICON A5, its noise was heavy like a nitro plane.
He suggested that noise is generated when a rotating propeller in high speed closes to tailing edge of a main wing, and a share stress of the air between a propeller and the tailing edge causes pressure gradient.
He moved back the motor 20mm using spacers. He succeeded a good result. The noise was reduced significantly.

Before hook up this model, I broke down side floats, main gears and also infirm nose gear.
Then I reinforced a backyard of fuselage against horizontal direction using carbon rods, vertical direction later. And also replace reliable retract gears, main and nose adding cushioning spring. When I attached the side floats, I replaced from steel rod to carbon rod to reinforce them.

I finally start out making ICON A-5 A488 slowly, with some information from the thread “New icon a5 by nfd hobby”, from my friends and with my new ideas.

I finished this movie. I'm happy if this movie could help your flight sebArt MIG29.

Thanks.

I maidened SebArt MIG-29.
I already finished four flights. I get used to do more easily to Cobra and Hover.
Now I’m practicing 3D maneuvers.

Hi guys!

Club’s members and I tried to take a FPV.
Four members joined an attempt.

My powered glider, Pulsar 3200, mounted two high vision cameras.
Other three members took of one after another and flew close my plane, rendezvous.

I shakedowned and maiden flighted "Spot on" mounted YS .63 4st gas motor last weekend.
It's about three years since last brand-new gas motor airplane.
The design is very good to fly.

Spot on is RTF model.
Wing Span 53.5 in / 1360 mm
Wing Area 538 sqin / 34.7 sqdm
Flying Weight 5.3 lb / 2400 gram
Fuselage lenghth 57 in / 1450 mm

Released by THE WORLD MODELS MANUFACTURING CO., LTD. Made in China.

Hi all!

I got good solution after getting least modifications, without step figures and add a mixiting program from throttle to elevator.
These stuffs made perfect touch down on water more easily.

Please check a video bellow.

It’s the pretty tragedy in New Zealand attacked by the epicentral earthquake.
I'm pretty sorry.
Also in Japan we’re afraid of some big earthquakes in near future.

BTW this winter is not normal in Japan.
My area is known as warmer than near north areas in the same prefecture though, snow is pretty rear.
On the morning I couldn’t help shooting FPV near my house. And I got it.
I’m pretty happy to open this movie. Please enjoy this short footage.

It's my pleasure to introduce a tiny electric seaplane.
It's wingspan is only 640mm and its weight is only 200gram with 2cell, 450mAh Lipo.
This tiny plane, Macchi-M33 Savoiya mod, is a kit released by Arcadia. It's cool. Kunidon who take my planes videos anytime made this. This seaplane has 50CX class brushless motor and 450mAh 2cell Lipo. It flies easy as its small size, without when it turns, it's easy to be spiral dive though.
Please enjoy the movie.

Hi! Everyone
I introduce one of my scale gas model planes, SKHOI 31, an aerobatics plane.
This model, mounted an OS .90 4st, is RTF (means Ready To Fly but for me Ready To Fight, because of many modifying) that had released by HIROBO as famous R/C helicopter.
I modified especially around cockpit. Meters have been scaled down correctly, by reporting the real, drown using a soft PowerPoint then translate pdf files, brought to a local photo shop (absolutely not a program name), developed and adjusted to the model size. Also the fuselage around cockpit, I replaced from wood (mainly balsa) to carbonate pipes for skeletons. Finally I added smoke system.
As its length of fuselage is shorter than standard model planes, it’s easy to do snap rolls, spins also lamcevak! (see a picture; flying sideways)
In 2003, I plumped Jurgis and also Svetlana about their deeds at HAUTE VOLTIGE held at MOTEGI in Japan.
Thanks Jurgis for allowing taking many pictures of Su-31 willingly.
Two flying pictures were taken by my club’s member.
In a picture, magazines are fakes, smaller than genuine. (sorry)
I’ll take movies of this model doing some maneuvers.

This time I made almost standards. And I colored it vanilla.
Some person knows small one has easy to porpoise. I’m modifying bottom (but not satisfied enough yet). I’m making every effort to improve it. The hardness of transition from taxi to planning is within an allowance by controlling technique.
There isn’t enough area near my house; ponds, lakes and rivers to fly big one and gas planes.
