I haven't done any blog entry for a while now so I thought I'd show my "new" plane.
I've built a couple of Jetset's planes and my favorite has always been the Gripen.
I've never built an EDF jet before but I've always wanted one so I decided to give the Gripen a shot with an EDF.
It turned out pretty good, I did only change one thing to the plans and that’s the wing.
I cut out all the depron from the wing that’s inside the fuselage and added two CF rods that goes through the wing and fuselage.
I also choose to have fixed canards to save the weight from an extra servo, and I also didn’t add any functional rudder.
Setup is:
GWS EDF-55
HXT 2040 4850 kv inrunner
Towerpro 25A ESC
HXT900 9g servo
Rhino 3s1p 1750 mAh 20-30C Lipo
At full speed it flies at about 91-95kph (56-59mph) and pulls 32A so I have to be really careful not to fly at full throttle since I’m using a 25A ESC.
