Another crazy idea.

German conceptual bomber Blohm und Voss P170. 3D Printed of course

Scale 1:12, 1.3m span, ~1 m long. Expected weight 2kg. 3D printed retracts. 4S-6S power setup.
I am not sure about the rudder function yet. Vase mode friendly + carbon/steel reinforcing.

I am thinking about another type of split.
Keep the wing in one piece, but split the center fuse in half using Lockey BD5 Fuse sections splitting mechanism.

What would you say about 1:12 (maybe 1:10) scale Northrop P61 Black Widow? A plane I have always dreamed about. I finally started drafting first pieces.

1.7m span
Estimated weight 2 - 3kg
Retracts and flaps included. I am not sure about spolierons that may be hard to print and operate. But we will see.

3D Printed Goblin has been finished -so I can start another plane that was digging hole in my brain. F7F Tigercat.
Scale 1:12 - ACES legal (we will see what is going to be the final weight).

Main fuse has been finished. Engine boom is 90% complete. Wing is next in line.

AUW 300-350g depending on the setup and print material.
Wing and fuse parts are designed for VASE MODE . Structural carbon rods can be added for stiffness and structural strength.

I've finished printing the 3D Goblin.
I was aiming for 140g of printed plastic but finished at 180. I've added too many reinforcements at the very last stage of the design.

Just add RC components and it it ready to fly.

Starting new 3D printed project.

It is going to be a FSW flying wing. Inspired by Nano Goblin and ZOHD nano dart. A sub 250g plane.
650mm wingspan. 140g of printed plastic.
Currently printing PLA @ 0.3mm wall thickness with 0.4mm nozzle @ .15 layer height.

Motor 1806 max (1306 preffered).
2 x 5g micro servos (good, cheap and realiable HXT 500 servos).
20A ESC max
Flight controller - possible.
TPU printed nose (to protect cam and VTX)

Here is another iteration (rev 8 actually) of the scale look a like of propeller for P-61 Black Widow.

This time fixed prop.
Bolted hub with 4 x M2 screws.
To maintain the best print orientation for strength the blades are printed on the back edge. But a clever support was needed to account for blade curvature.

This time parts are printed in ABS so I can achieve better surface quality after sanding.
I achieved 305g of thrust @ 94W that makes 3.24g/W.

Basically it is the best result among all tested propellers so far on this motor (Cobra 2208- 2000kV @ 2S) - including commercially available propellers.
I have not compared it to GWS props yet.

You can also see what is the difference between sanded and non sanded version: almost 25% in case of rev. 7

I am slowly finishing printing of my own designed F8F Bearcat in 1:12 scale (ACES WWII R/C Combat class compatible).

One year of design process... I know I know - this could be faster, but I have had other things to do

Model is build in "conventional" way - not fully utilizing the benefits of organic style 3D printed internal supports.

Wings construction:
45 deg angled internal ribs
CF rods (1 x 6mm + 2 x 1.8mm) to be used as main strength members.
Segments attached with small tabs.
Due to wing chord length I had to split the segment in half way to fit on ordinary printer.

Fuselage construction:
Slices that have the channels for 6 CF rods 2mm diameter.
Each slice has "semi" stiffening formers that bind the channels for CF tubes at each slice end.
It works really well as even in a case of small wall fracture the fuse is still kept integral due to these stiffeners.
The fuse has separate belly.
Motor cowling is removable.
Motor mount attached to fuse & the CF rods glued joints.
Wings to be attached the RC combat style - alignment tab @ leading edge + 2 x 6mm aluminum tubes crossing the fuse + rubber bands.

Currently designed for 3536 motor 1200kV & 4S setup but 4108 600kV & 6S setup (3D lab print style) is also feasible due to removable/adjustable motor mount.

Fuselage has been 100% printed but not glued - just missing internals to mount servos and pack.
Wings are 85% ready - I am printing final pieces.

Model has not been weighted yet. I'll do that before I start final assembly.

Model is solid body type and the shell/reinforcement bodies are exclusively designed for Slic3r. I really disliked the way Cura 2.x was operating long time ago when I started the design process.

During the Christmas break my son (17yrs) designed on his own a frame that combines all the best technical solutions from all the frames he has been flying over past 2 years.

A friend of mine finished his Me 109 model from 3D Lab Print.
He was a very good R/C Combat flier, but haven't flown for couple years already.
Me 109 from 3D LabPrint was supposed to be his come back.
Weather was very bad for flying - rain + wind. White model on grey sky.
But he was very determined to make the maiden flight either way.

Maiden was OK.
Second flight was not so much OK...
