Hi guys,
My first and probably only blog post will be a shameless plug for my new product. The first and only available Variometer developed specifically for FPV flight. Not sure what a Variometer is? Check out the video:
The variometer will let you stay up longer and learn to fly with what nature provides. Using a sufficiently big video battery, there is no limit to how long you can fly. If you're doing long range or high altitude flights, the variometer is a must to guarantee a safe return (if battery power is low, just look for thermals to climb to altitude and then glide home safely). Thermals are everywhere where there is sun. Real glider pilots use it to travel thousands of miles without any motor on their aircraft at all. And yes, real glider pilots all have variometers inside their aircraft.
The Last One Down variometer contains a super-high-precision barometric pressure sensor that detects altitude changes at 6cm (~2.3 inch) accuracy. Compare that to OSDs which gives you readings at 1m (3.2 ft) accuracy! The variometer checks you altitude 50x per second and decides after one second if the thermal you are in is suitable for climbing to altitude. All you need to do is wait for the beeps, and then start to circle.
For more information on the variometer please visit my website
