Added a collar from a Champ elevator that was destroyed. It was foam and glued on nicely. In this photo notice how wide the eyelids are. I sanded the sides of the pilot's head and got them back into scale. -

This is the same unpainted plastic as in the first photo. I painted the eyes first adding a dot for light in the corner of the cornea. Carefully painted the edge of the helmet the same color as the straps. Then painted the skin a flesh color. -

Hit everything with flat black. Used a thinned black over the straps to give them a weathered look. Also thinned the flesh color and added some of the thinned black to give wrinkles. -

Dappled brown very lightly over the black. I used the paintbrush shown and nearly dried the paint before dabbing it. I was surprised at the effect of weathered leather. I also dabbed the white shirt with thinned black to weather it, too. -

The back of the head, collar, and shoulder need the same care. By using a dry brush method, I was able to keep the seams untouched, bringing out their detail. -

I've continued to work on these goggles. The brown was put on thick to look like leather. The silver was carefully applied by hand and then touched up with the brown again. The pleather black band was pulled through the loops and glued down with CA. -

He looks like Napoleon Solo, played by Robert Vaughn, the Man from UNCLE. I've gone back over the skin with a subtle brown wash, then sprayed it all with Dulcote by Testors. Finished the face by dabbing the eyes with clear finger nail polish. -

Added a fleece collar made from an old gym sock and died with coffee. Glued on with Gorilla Glue that dries a yellowed white color. Also added a mustache from my wife's discarded false eyelashes. I cut them nearly to the line and glued them down.
