Just received my FrSky Taranis Q X7 from here -

Just now BGs 11th anniversary price for short time is 99$ on all color options.

105$ - White and Black
110$ - Blue, Green, Orange and Purple

I'm so excited about this transmitter from FrSky. Its great way to enter world of FrSky transmitters and receivers which are very popular, especially among mini-quads pilots. Q X7 compared to X9D only misses two switches and two sliders which are needed in some special cases like multi-rotors for video recording and gliders... soooooo, no big deal...
Same great OpenTX SW like X9... and possibility to use Companion TX on PC for creating, modifying, backing up and transferring models to other Taranis Transmitters.
And internal XJT module with same range (internal XJT module is the same as in Taranis X9...), with modern look and better ergonomic but all that at great price.
Usage of Open TX is like any X9 or X9D, no differences, except slightly different screen layout due smaller screen, similar operation and its even easier due the usage of scrolling wheel.

Review - Eachine E010S 65mm Micro FPV Racing Quadcopter with 800TVL CMOS Based On F3 Brush Flight Controller

New toy in the house: Eachine E010S 65mm micro quad. Easiest to describe it is Tiny Whoop (Inductrix) clone.
Eachine had a try with QX70 to attack Tiny Whoop which didn't go to good, I had one, looked great but flight experience wasn't too great.
Well, this time Eachine did a great job with E010S. Quad flied great out of the box, really stable and with plenty of power. There are no visible or audible vibrations and flight experience is perfect.

E010S Home Run - DVR - all default settings - out of the box - eachines tiny whoop (2 min 34 sec)

This is maiden LOS test flight just to check if everything works as it should (all default settings, out of the box):

Well, maybe with this beautiful looking packet:

Even my wife, who never-ever asked me anything about my quads, when she saw the box, asked "whats this?", and looked inside
So, it should do the trick.

Few advice for all beginners who would stumble upon this tread & mini quad dedicated freestyle/racing simulators:
  • Do not buy 3S batteries, buy 4S. 3S batteries are just throwing money, you will outgrow them in 1 month. If one super beginner should be afraid of 4S power there is a way to make 4S feel like 3S using custom throttle curve, please see HERE. Or you can play with your transmitter end point limits on throttle channel. You wont be able to give full throttle and fly too fast, but yor FC and PID controller will have access to full 4S power and quad will fly great. Make sens?
  • DAL Cyclone props are great props, if they are too expensive than buy Kingkong 5x4x3 props, they are good and really cheap.
  • This will sound scary but: Do not use self level, immediately or ASAP start flying in acro mode. Self-leveling blocks your development as pilot. More time you spend in self-level it will make harder to switch to acro.
  • Get yourself some simulator for practicing (simulator USB interface)(HOTPROPS simulator is free). If you have FrSky Taranis you can connect it to PC via USB and use it as sim controller - see post #11 and #12.

and practice, practice, practice...

HOTPROPS simulator is free, mattystunz use it, check his video:
