After approximately 6 months of not flying due to personal issues and a motorcycle accident, I finally got back into it. Although having my wrist in a cast with 3 pins in it from a roller skating fall did make this flying a little difficult

The new Addiction XL from PA is huge. It flys on 6s, watch how precise it is in straight line flight then see how crazy slow and low you can fly it. This is the maiden flight!

This one I shot with my iPhone hatcam. Again pretty happy with the results.

But the plane is simply amazing so solid and stable yet still able to do 3D like a demon. Maybe PA's best so far.

I'm pretty happy with the hatcam. As anyone knows trying to get someone to video flying can be really hard especially when they aren't interested in RC. I was looking at getting the glasses with the cameras in but the cameras aren't as good quality as the iphone 5 unless you pay about $300

So I made a little plywood box that the iphone fit's snugly into when on it's side. The box is shallow enough that the lens is above it's edge. Then I expoxied it onto a hat. It's off center so that the lens is directly over my eyes. After that I made a targetting crosshair which I glued to the end of the peak of the hat.

It took about 30 minutes to make the box and get it lined up and glued on. Another 10 for the crosshair. I left the crossbar loose and did some tests recording video then moving the bar up and down and testing again until it lined up. All up it was about an hours work and I'm pretty happy with the results.

What can I say. They were strange times.

DEVO - Smart Patrol/Mr. DNA (6 min 7 sec)

Lyrics
He's been with the world
and I’m tired of the soup du jour
he's been with the world
i wanna end this prophylactic tour
afraid nobody around here
understands my potato
guess I’m only a spudboy
looking for a real tomato
we're the smart patrol
nowhere to go
suburban robots that monitor reality
common stock
we work around the clock
we shove the poles in the holes

wait a minute
something's wrong
he's the man from the past
he's here to do us a favor
a little human sacrifice
it's just supply and demand
mr. Kamikazi mr. Dna
he's an altruistic pervert
mr. Dna mr. Kamikazi
he's here to spread some genes
wait a minute
something's wrong
he's a man with a plan
his finger is pointed at devo
now we must sacrifice ourselves
that many others may live
ok we've got a lot to give
this monkey wants a word with you

Will and I at Hammondville with the Bandits.

2nd attempt with helmet cam. Most of this footage turned out ok. I did fly two batteries with the camera zoomed in a lot more but unfortunately missed everything. So not too zoomed next time.

I mounted a video camera to an old motorbike helmet so hopefully I can start getting more video of my flights. Here's my first attempt with it Piaget in the front yard.

Well I maidened the Comp ARF Yak and let me say awwwwwesome!!! I put 5 flights on and did everything from IMAC to hovering and torque rolling about 12ft off the deck.

Man once I got it's feeling for hovering it locked in and just started torquing! I hardly had to touch elevator to keep it going. Looked pretty cool getting blown across the field in the wind hovering and torque rolling.

Also it does high alpha knife edge is incredible, it slows right down and sits at 45 degree angle with pretty much no coupling. At one time I did it for a bout 50 meters one handed, not touching ailerons or throttle.

I was concerned the roll rate wouldn't be what I wanted as it's not super high throws on the ailerons. Pffffft yeah right at speed it's like 2 rolls a second!!!

Rolling harrier circles and loops were easy as well!

When it comes to IMAC far out it draws super straight lines, on low rates I was doing slow rolls, the length of the strip for one roll, about 20ft off the deck, it was just so locked in.

Landing??? Just fully shut throttle to idle and let it float in. Soooooo easy.

Love it!!!!

My first plank. I got this one mainly with the idea of tackling the DS circuit on my local slope. It took a lot of fiddling to dial in but once it was there it flies great. Very fast and turns on a dime. I put my own ballast tube in which holds 400gms of lead. When loaded up it really gets along. I'm yet to really get it wound up on the darkside but will keep trying.
