Alright. So i got up this morning and ot was raining so my mind immediately turned to plane building. Id been thinking of building the scamp from the rcm&e magazine (yes the pomie one. They have some good plans in there). This is my first plan build and first time working with balsa. So far i have got all the bits cut out and half of the wing is drying as i type. So far the build has been uneventful except for the fact that i have no 1/16 th inch balsa so i am using 1/8th all round it should still fly though with a 25a esc, a 1530kv motor and 3s 20c batter am taking pics but dont know how to post them from an ipad. Any one know?

Hi there.just test flew the scanner today. All i can say is i would recommend it to any non begginer in a heart beat. Taking off takes a bit more than 25-30m And you may need to upsize the wheels to 3 1/2 inches if flying off of a rough field. Flying on low rates gave me more than enough aurthority. I easily doing loops, inverted, immelman turns and that on third flight. Landing is as simple as cutting the throttle and letting her glide in and a flair at the end. She also glides like a dream, i had to dead stick a landing as it didnt seem as though the engine was slowing down to an idle. I flew about three or four circiuts on no throttle, so either it has an amazing glide rate or the engine wasnt doing something right The os 46 efx max engine provided more than enough power for it as i had a ball with some fast low passes. The wind was gusting at what one of the fellas reckoned was 25 knots and he reckoned i was gutsy flying in it. It wasnt that much more than what i usually fly in or learnt to fly in so it was a breeze (no pun intended). All in all it is a great plane and cant recommend it enough.

P.S. i didnt assemble the plane as i bought it second hand

Alright, it has been a while cause of moving. I found these apps for the iPad. RC plane 2 and rc helicopter 2. Both of these are free and actually quite good. Any way I have order some motor shafts after too long of a time. Should be here on my student free day so I can go flying at the park on Thursday.

totaled the motor mount in the latest crash. came in and aborted landing the wind caught the wing and nosed it into the ground. I re-built the motor mount form balsa. If any one wants the plans i can tell you. Just for classification it is for a skyartec cessna 182. you will still need the metal part although that wouldn't be too hard.

The parts didn't turn up in time for the weekend club sesion. The instructor was kind enough with a promise of sausages to take the Hustler MKIII out. I flew around on a buddy box. It flew above me and he took control but he had his on lo rates and it didn't survive. =( The motor mount broke and the landing gear needs to e re-attatched. The comp is next week end so i will need to getr some practice.
