My brother and I fly indoors every weekend durring the winter months (November - April) so I have started testing smaller EDF designs to have some fun inside.

The first EDF airframe I completed is a scaled down version of Jetset44's Bandit. I first scaled it down to fit a 30mm EDF but have had some issue with getting a stable 30mm EDF running on the bench. I did have a good 40mm EDF setup, so I the scaled it up to fit a 40mm EDF.

The EDF specs for the 40mm GWS 6 blade rotor and housing using a Hyperion 5800kv 12mm motor are:

147 grams of thrust at 7.4 amps (73 watts) on 3S.

The flying weight of the plane of the plane is 128 grams so the power to weight ratio is a little better than 1:1.

Once I get a good 30mm EDF setup, I will finish the Micro Bandit.

Here are some pictures of the Mini Bandit.

My first attempt at posting a video.

BlitzRCWorks F-16 50mm EDF (1 min 33 sec)

This is a JPower F-16 powered by a Wicked Wemo 5000kv EDF from TheDon.

After the successful maiden flight outside, my brother and I took the F-16 to an indoor flying session that night. Here is a video of the F-16 flying indoors - at about 1 minute and 30 seconds, my brother goes to full throttle.
