I've recently spent a large proportion of my money on a fpv quadcopter build. It is a 5inch size class and runs off of a 4s lipo battery.
It uses:
>Hyperlite flowride frame
>Dys samguk Wei 2207 2600kv motors
>Speedix GS35A 4in1 esc
>Pyrodrone f4 osd flight controller
>Frisky R-xsr reciever
>Runcam micro sparrow fpv camera
>Matek 40ch vtx
>Tatty 4s 1300mah lipos
It flies really well so far and I haven't really bothered with any self level, the hardest thing I have come across so far is landing.

I went and got a subscription to the RCM&E for Christmas and this came with a free lot of the west wings swallow glider. I built it up over the early months of the year and recently I have Maidenhead it. The kit built up really well and easily, the tissue went on well (I used pritt stick and water to glue and shrink) but it didn't shrink incredibly and is weak. I have put my finger through it a few times so I patched it up, at this point I had run out of west wings tissue so I had to patch it with some scrap guillows material from kits I built in the past, this shrunk better and was stronger so I am wondering about completely re-doing the wing.
I've only flown it a bit but I haven't had the chance as it is only small (90mm) and light so there has to be very little wind.

Well, why not.....

I started this project when I saw all 5 of my HC-SRO4 ultrasonic ranging sensors and I saw a YouTube video of an automated rover using one for object avoidance and thought, I'll put em on a plane, how hard can it be?

Well, the answer is not yet found...

I have recently purchased a new charger for all my battery needs. My choice and research has lead me to buying the rc6-vsr from Overlander as they have a good reputation in the battery world.
It cost me around £42 from Leeds model shop, which is a pretty good deal for what you get.

So, what do you get?
Well you get a nice charger that can supply a nifty 80W of power and 7A current to a battery.

It'll do all the standards: LIPO, LIFE, LIION, NIMH, NICAD and PB. The lithium's are 1-6s and the NIMH/NICAD will do 1-5s then the On has 1-10s.

There is a relatively simple UI with four buttons labeled for ease of navigation, this means charging is incredibly simple (although the included manual doesn't really help, search "how to use Overlander rc6-vsr" and a download manual will be on the links).

Finally (one of the great strong points) the charger has an input of either 100-240V AC or 11-18V DC and it comes with an AC power cord so that's simple.

Oh yeah, and you can buy a temp sensor and it'll failsafe if the battery gets too hot (also may and time fail-safes set).

I'm not sure how to adjust all the settings like fail-safes yet but so far it has been a really great and friendly charger that I would recommend to anyone as I have had no issues.

I have just received the MLVSS sensor for the Frsky smartport telemetry system and the whole idea has intrigued me. As I'm not very experienced, this is my first telemetry apart for RSSI from the relieved itself.
There isn't really a big limit on what telemetry you have because of the ability to piggy back multiple sensors on each other (unless you use too many channels or the current draw gets too high) I'm not actually sure of the limit.
This has given me the great ability of the telemetry and I have learnt allot about using plants. Before, I didn't know how to set many hints on a switch, but now, I have RSSI on the middle of SC, voltage on the momentary SH and radio voltage on SG.

I have recently started a new build project and I thought I would post a bit about it on this forum as my first thread. It is Greg Thompson's "Bambina", which was a free plane from RCM&E volume 60, January 2017. The air-plane is a small sport areobat/trainer and it looked like a bit of fun as my first real rc balsa build (I have previously only done free-flight guillows kits).
