Interesting placement of the tail motor high up on the vertical tail fin almost level with the main blades & 2-3 blade tail rotor props.

UPDATE: KKDDMM confirms that a FS-TH9X-B does not bind to the GT 9016 so no 9x Tx compatibility it seems.....

Update: So it seems new V911 Clone BNF and parts may be from the same company that makes the JC 9C002 Solo Pro Clone.

The head does not have a feathering shaft.

But good news regarding binding to a 9x Tx.

Still waiting for 9x Tx compatiblity to be confirmed.

I wish the Rx had overcurrent protection to protect the fets during motor jams, strikes.

Please subscribe and offer input to WLToys regarding quadcopter features & improvements.

Another interesting tail motor related mod to try Thanks to EQMOD.

Doing experiments using neodymium magnets on a Bravo SX & 4G3 tail motors to: increase motor KV / RPM performance, run cooler & last longer:

I wonder about ways for installing NEO mags on a Bravo SX main motor in its motor holder. Would there be any benefits to cancel the weight increase from the magnets?

I got 100Pcs 3mm x 1mm, .05g each Disc Neodymium from Ebay to play with

To prevent the MCX head linkage guide forks from spreading & breaking off in a crash I filed square grooves to fit Al tubing brace rods via CA glue soaked dental floss. I could have used push pin, flybar bits, CF rod, etc for the brace rods. Its a easy, strong & light weight mod.

CF brace rod was added to the Xtreme CF flybar hub to help resist bending & snapping during crashes:

- A section length of Bravo SX CF tail boom was cut accordingly for use as a flybar hub brace rod
- File & sand down the top of the flybar hub until the CF brace rod fits flat & flush
- Clamp & CA glue brace rod on top of the flybar hub, check for correct alignment
- Gently sand sides of the flybar hub smooth to allow free movement & max flybar tilt angle without binding

My custom V911 based heli build:

Goals:

Build a custom V911 with a Bell-Hiller head/flybar setup and recycle the investment in parts from previous Bravo SX projects.

I also wanted to revisit EQMod's Bell Hiller mod for the Solo Pro. It was based on Walkera 4#3 flybar hub, flybar paddle parts.

I cancelled plans to apply EQMod's Bell Hiller mod to the Bravo SX due to Rx problems.

IMHO its much easier to transplant a Bell Hiller Head/FB setup to the V911 via custom CF main shaft, MCX Lower head & blades & linkages, Xtreme CF MSR flybar.

I was asked about tips for a safer method besides pressing fitting & using heat to reinstall the pinion back on for micro heli motors such as: 9958, V911, Bravo SX...etc.

I received a Genius CP main motor from a friend to test and I tried this method to install a Bravo SX motor pinion....seems to work well:

Update1:

I found with practice using the drill bit to smooth out the pinion hole, the resulting fit made it possible to finger press the pinion down the motor shaft yet the pinion will stay firm in place without CA glue.

Update2:

Is this the kind of tool that would be appropriate for this work? It's by E-Flite so I imagine it would work with mCX/mCX2 motors and so anything larger than that should be fine.... but that's just speculation on my part.

I got the cheap GWS micro pinion puller. It might be me but I found the stock setup fiddly & difficult to use. I had to practice on dead motors to get the correct alignment to pull out pinions without deforming the teeth. Also it did not work very well with removing pinions from motors smaller than Bravo SX motors.

Finally out of fustration I cut out a shim from piece of Al using a dremel & hand filing. I cut two shim notch sizes via trial & error to handle pinions for Bravo SX & smaller Bravo III motors.

Miracle-Mart Customer Service,

I noticed a problem with 1 x Spare Flybar (for MSR005) (MSR005-A).

One side of the flybar has the rod angled upwards. The uneveness will cause flight wobbles or vibration. The CF rod cannot be bent straight without breaking central flybar hub. I think the rod was not glued in straight & even during the Xtreme manufacturing.

I compared the flybar from 1 x Carbon Flybar Set (MSR) (MSR005) = US$6.90 and its perfectly straight.

My custom Bravo III based heli:

- NE210A Rx & swash combo which offers more downward servo throw for FFF than NE310A Rx.

- Adapted a MCX mod....Extended length of swash plate linkage guide approx 2.5-3.0mm via push pin rod, dental floss, CA glue to allow use of longer swash balls for more cyclic throws: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...e#post11411882

- NE210A swash with "MSR swash donor mod" to fix minor TBE: https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...r#post17049462

- Modded NE310A frame to allow use of inexpensive MyRCMart parts: GW 9958 canopy, tail boom & tail fin. Flip up canopy is held by pivot pins & rubber bands which allows quick easy access for mods & repair work, less noise for indoor flying.

- Added battery cable, MSR style connector to NE210A Rx to use Zippy 240mah lipo battery.

- modded Z bend flybar made & stiffened with Q-Tip tubing & paper clip bar: avoids lower blade strikes, offers stable & zippy flying.

- NE310A motors, landing skid, inner shaft, blades.

- Shimmed lower rotor blades with paper washers & lubed moving parts with Tri-Flow.

- Many of the performance mods for the MCX, MCX2 can be adapted & applied successfully to Solo NE210A, Bravo III NE310A.
