I'll be leaving one week from today. It has been a fantastic journey to bring a piece of history together. Look forward to sharing good times/food/memories with friends old and new. Plan to represent Hobby King well with this one.

The new HawkEYE Firefly 8S is another action camera based on the solution provided by Ambarella A12 platform chipset and the Sony IMX 117 CMOS sensor. The main features are real 4K resolution, Full HD at 120 FPS and an impressive 720p @ 240 fps which will make stunning slow motion videos. The camera also provides extra functionality such as WiFi connectivity, Bluetooth remote control, external microphone, PWM remote control, FPV video outpout and provides a lot of functions like time lapse or long exposure photography. The 8S is also available in two lens options which are wide: 170 FOV and no fish eye distortion 90 FOV. In the first part of this video review you will be able to see: unboxing, accessories overview, Bluetooth remote paring, full menu walkthrough with explanations, WiFi application complete demo test.

So far I'm really impressed by:

- GoPro format
- Mini USB 10P with audio input, pwm control, fpv output
- Hi voltage battery (4.35V/cell)
- Sunlight readable display
- Sun hood included
- Generous bundle
- Stable firmware
- Firmware updates !

Part 1 of the review

Unboxing, accessories, Bluetooth remote paring, full menu walkthrough with explanations, WiFi app complete demo test.

Had fun on my day off with a Williams Brothers 1/5 scale pilot figure applying painting tips from Aces of Iron. My role model for the bust wore a tie and not an ascot, so I added a collar and just painted a tie on him. Probably need to add a Clark Gable mustache when the Dullcote dries.

Williams Bros. has been around a long time and some dismiss their pilots, but for $4.66 plus a few Testors paint bottles, it was a first for me.

Update: With winter coming on I added lamb fleece and Brooksie grew a mustache. To help hold on his goggles, he needed some help in the back.

The fleece is an ancient athletic sock turned inside out, cut to fit, and died with coffee. The mustache is my wife's (discarded) false eyelashes, and the buckle on the back is a paper clip....Continue Reading

Interesting article about owl wings leading edge serrations and other characteristics that make for a quieter flight.

This arrived yesterday, a few days early compared to when Amazon said it would arrive.

I've been using it for my current cargo plane build, and I like it a lot. Works great on foam board, gets really hot (200 watts, ~400F). Very little dripage during idle times. Finally semi-retiring my old Stanley 40 watt glue gun which I used for I can't count how many years, ever since I started using hot glue. This Stanley gun leaked a lot, it would drip about the same amount of glue that I used. Semi-retiring because it has a low and high setting, I need the low setting for EPS foam.

The new one from AdTech has only one setting (high), and no switch, just plug it in. Works great!

Cargo plane is under construction for the Fourth of July weekend, which now is almost over (boohoo).

I still need to build the main landing gear, the nacelles, and then install electronics. Design was inspired by FliteTest's "Guinea Pig". Also trying some building techniques I learned from FliteTest. Materials are all Dollar Tree foam board, wing span 50 inches. Will be powered by a pair of HURC 2410-12D (from Heads Up RC in Florida - great place (the online store, can't say for the state since I've never been to Florida)). These are the same motors that were in my 200th build (200-2012).

That's the nose of So.50 in the background.

I was able to finally get my Beta 75 in the sky. I ended up picking up a Taranis QX 7. I love it. Its such a huge step up from the toy grade transmitters I have used in the past. I did have some issues with the camera it smoked after a 2 minute flight. No biggie though I try to keep a few camera on hand.

This build is stock outside of the BetaFPV H01 camera that I put on in place on the BetaFPV Z01.

Here is some DVR footage of me doing some laps.

As it says, YET ANOTHER dead F4 v2 , FFS , had enough of this crap now . This one wont even connect to Betaflight and the LED is very low.

I am absolutely fuming.

I am making a quadcopter. For that purpose I bought a new FLYSKY CT6B transmitter and receiver. I tried to calibrate ESCs and brushless motors but when I turn off the power supply ESC restart. So I have to calibrate again and again. Is there any problem in receiver or ESC?
