New (To me) Xplorer 3.8 Meter F5J ship arrived from Greece via a Dow box last month. Man, what a blast to fly. Floats and handles like a BIG DLG ship. Running a Leopard Hobby LG250-30 5550KV motor with a Resinauer 5.1 gearbox. I'm using Graphine 3 cell 750ma batteries. If you have not tried these batteries I highly recommend them. No sag, high "C" batteries that just keep pumping. Futaba S-3150 digital servos taking direction from a Futaba T8FG Super transmitter make a great combination.

A great ship for dead air or windy conditions. Penetrates the wind well. I use her for ALES on windy days.

My standard AVA and Super Ava Pro and the Electric Ava Super Pro 4 flap (Sometimes called Avalon) . The standard is brand new, just assembled in May 2017 and test flown May 14th. It's been tucked way in the back of a warehouse but now she's seeing action. All are floaters...all came from Barry Kennedy at Kennedy Composites.

4-28-2013 - Currently experimenting with a large (128") flying wing for thermal duration. I hooked up with Justin Ammon at Edge RC (justin@edgerc.com) to brainstorm about this "little" project and he has been a wealth of techincal information as well as supplying the most beautifully cut cores I've ever seen. I'm not a flying wing guy but Justin is converting me. My goal was/is to build a large chevron wing that will fly slow enough to effectively thermal yet move to a different part of the sky quickly when needed. I don't want a rocket ship to fly, I'm not into that. So far the results have been very promising. The first test/trim glides on a short hosemonster were Friday April, 26th here in Atlanta and these glides were really promising. More trim flights are needed to work on the C/G and flight trim. As the spring and summer progress I hope to be sharing the results on RC Groups and with Justin. I want to give a special shout out to Justin for being so patient and answering all of my questions. I also want to thank Wayne for his assistance in the trial launches.

125 inches of pure soaring fun.

From the early 80's a Kraft Air Golden Eagle resting with a HB 2x4 in the back yard. The Eagle wing was a difficult build while the 2x4 was simple and a really sweet flying 2 meter ship. I actually sold the Golden Eagle off before completing it.

Here are some shots of the E-Sailaire we have been flying lately. I also fly a WSTech Vario in this ship on light lift days to help core a light thermal.
