Now it occurred to me about 0.00 hundred hours ...
That the H8 mini has headless mode ( actually I knew that ) , but how to chose between headless mode and normal operation ?
Now the instructions say headless mode ( HM from now on ) is controlled by channel 9 on the Tx ..

So what to do ? , except activate Ch9 and assign a 2 position switch ( Right ! )

So on the 9XR pro ( Screen 5/14 )

CH9 100 FULL !ELE

So Ch9 is now @ 100% ( active ) and controlled by the switch !ELE ..

With the switch in the normal position , the H8 mini is in HM ...
Pull the switch toward you , and you are in normal mode ..

Tadaaaaa !

I have already done a test flight @ 0.30 am , and it works ..

Time for bed !

Eachine H8 Mini ( Bound to my 9XR pro ) Part 2 (1 min 57 sec)

The Eachine H8 mini running better ..
With the bad motor running smoother it really handles well ..

I'm still a little surprised you get such a good mini quad for so little money ..

In my previous post I mentioned I had the Eachine bound to my Turnigy 9XR Pro VIA a multi protocol module ...

https://goo.gl/cJvDpd Multi protocol Module ... FYI , this module only does ( NRF24L01 )
https://goo.gl/R6ALz5 Eachine H8 mini ...

These are the instructions for binding ..

When you turn on the Tx hold the sticks in the following position ( on start - not after )
Rudder right + Aileron left = EAchine H8 mini 3D
Elevator up + Aileron right = EAchine H8(C) mini

Will the real Eachine stand up please !

These were the instructions , but for the Taranis transmitter .
For the 9XR Pro I found the following worked
Transmitter is mode 2 Left stick is Throttle / Rudder

Throttle Down / Rudder left ( bottom left corner )
Right stick = top right corner

Once the (?) model is bound , you should not need to repeat the process as the protocol ( model ) will be remembered next time you want to fly .
Like I said , the instructions are for the Taranis , so if you plug the module into any other Tx , you will need to explore for a bind .

Eachine H8 mini ...
I still haven't tried the factory remote .
The H8 bound to my 9XR pro shows great promise for a really good flying mini quad ( or is it micro ? )

It handles a breeze relatively well for it's small size
The H8 lacks power / or is a little heavy
Very strong , takes bumps well
Might be stunt able .. ( Very nimble )
For the price - seriously ! ( A lot of people will spend $...Continue Reading

Purchased a H8 mini so that I had something to bind to the Multiprotocol TX Module ( For Frsky X9D X9D Plus X12S Flysky TH9X 9XR PRO Transmitter ) ...

I thought I had a quad that would bind , but alas No ..
So just playing at the moment ( ATM ) , and the short of it is it works .
I will have to try the H8 with the factory Tx , but so far it's a blast with the 9xr Pro ..
The H8 is very cheap , got mine from Banggood .. ( Did I pay like $16 ozzi bananas for it ) ( $12.99USD at this post )
http://www.banggood.com/Eachine-H8-M...-p-975808.html

The Tx module is interesting , by using a Turnigy 9XR Pro you can almost throw the instructions away ( I think its intended for the Frsky X9 - instructions )

FYI , this module only does ( NRF24L01 ) .......

I am currently on my 3rd recharge ... So hopefully a double mini review in a short while ... ( For now I plan on having some fun )

3D printed module case from Banggood for 9x / 9xr / 9xr pro (1 min 49 sec)

Ok , since so many don't bother watching the video .. I will try a printed ( typed version )

Came from Banggood today ( purchased ) was a 3D Printed Module Case for the 9X / 9XR / 9XR pro transmitters ..
In this instance its for my 9XR pro , as I will be playing with multi protocol modules .. ( Tis the plan )

To the case .. There were no screws or accessories , just the 3D printed case ( 2 parts )
Not superb , but not terrible either ( quality ) .. Nothing like injection molded plastic .. ( 3D printing has a ways to go I think )
This case does not seem weak or overly fragile , but being 3D printed I would not test its durability unless ( you ) ordering a spare ..

I put it in my 9XR pro and there was a fair bit of slop ... ( Play )
So I ended up with 3 layers of electrical tape on the top part of the module case ..
I put one layer on the opposite side from the contacts hole running over the clip ..
This took out most of the side to side play ..

It looks like it will do the job , but just be mindful of the reputation 3D printed stuff has earned ( They are more fragile than molded parts )

Heatsink fan mod for WLtoys 12428 ( 540 Motor ) (6 min 2 sec)

I ordered and installed a heatsink fan unit for the 540 motor in the WLtoys 12428 buggy ..
it went in with little effort and no mods were required to the buggy body ..

I may still put some non conductive thermal paste on the heatsink for better thermal transfer ..
But this simple mod actually works ...
The 540 runs quite a bit cooler now .
