Finally, an official filmed flight of the FT Edge! Since I am not quite to being a 3D pilot yet, I toned the controls way down to make it a nice sport flying plane. Something I highly recommend for beginners.

In this, the first of several "FRIDAY FLASHBACKS" on my YouTube channel, I'm featuring videos that for whatever reason, never got uploaded. Sometimes they're long forgotten on some crowded hard drive, and sometimes life just gets in the way...

With some free time as of late, I've gone through several storage drives, and have found some REAL GEMS !

First up is a rarely seen, gorgeous model of a de Havilland D.H.86 Express by master modeler Dan Johnson :
de Havilland DH-86 Express by Dan Johnson - FRIDAY FLASHBACK! St George Utah, 2016 (5 min 8 sec)

Please enjoy watching this beauty cruise gracefully over St. George Utah during the 2016 St. George Electric Festival !

I really like this Freewing Su-35, and completely understand now it's popularity among EDF Flyers. here are some shots of mine...and have now passed the 100th flight barrier with EDF powered model aircraft.

For all you X-Lite users that want to add a safety strap and collapsible windsock, I designed and created this 3D printed attachment and thought I would share it.

I printed the object using PETG.

Place on build plate on side to make sure the layer lines are longitudinal (for strength.)

Custom supports on the hollow area along the back.

Collapsible antenna from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

Feel free to modify for your needs.

Hey Dudes,
Can you guys share some good rates for the Avanti. I have the Elite F-16 Falcon and I'm looking for a better EDF Jet and I think the Avanti is my choice. I just looking for a few low rates and some good pointers, I have the 4000/5000mah batteries. My first maiden it flew like a buttered corkscrew, I checked my throws and all good. Maybe my COG is off but that's at 110-115. Trying to dial in....thanks (No EAA this year)

OMPHobby S720 with a Gemfan 6030 (4 min 37 sec)

At full throttle it is not horrible , at least the GF6030 pulls at the very least a full AMP less than the factory prop . But the performance curve is way different .

With the factory prop you can fly around comfortably @ 50% throttle . With the GF6030 50% throttle is what you use when you come in to land to keep the nose up . @ 50% throttle , the GF6030 could barely keep the S720 in the air .

I did try some vertical stuff , but since I havent done any with the King Kong 5045 or the factory prop ? I have nothing to compare too .

It flies and at or near full throttle there seems to be decent performance .
What is going to matter most I think is how well a prop pulls the plane when it goes vertical and unfortunately so far I have only done that with the GF6030 .

Its been a few years since this home built model diesel engine was built but today I got a video of it running, made by Martyn Kaye . No9 of 14 made, capacity 0.2cc swinging a 5 x 2" prop and based on a British Mills engine just smaller.

I recently decided to try switching from FrOS to OpenTX. Here is a description of that experience along with first impressions and a quick overview of OTX for those who may be considering such a switch.

I bought this one from ArtHobby :

http://www.arthobby.com/index.php?pa...ry=31&item=252

Here's another website:

https://www.pp-rc.de/arthobby.htm?sh...ionId=&a=catal

and here is the website for the manufacturer in Poland,

http://www.arthobby.pl/szybowce/product/colibri-v-1m/

It is a very nice lightweight model at a very reasonable price

Below are some self-explanatory pictures of mine ...

Here's a short video (taken by my wife with her phone) of how mine flies on a hill in Turtlerock (Irvine) a short walking distance from my house,
