I usually don't build for other people other than close friends at the field, and then it'll be one of my flat jets or a combat ship...nothing too complicated or time consuming......too much like work....lol ......However, the fellow that helped me with my very first maiden flight was an S-3 pilot in the Navy.....over 1500 hours and 450 cat shots/traps....can't say no to that....and you never forget those that help you.....So I tried to duplicate the squadron markings of his aircraft.

This is the second aircraft I cut with the E3......

Here's the maiden of Skip's S-3

Waiting on one ESC.....otherwise she'd be flight ready.....48" 50% KFM-2 wing, (2) 6 blade 70mm fans with 3500 kV motors, ES-3104 servos, 60 amp ESC's and (2) 3400 mah 60C 4S batteries....same power plants that are in that big (and heavier) 60" bomber I built not long ago.....and we know it flies !

Bloody Hell III (3 min 43 sec)

Sorry about losing her on the vertical climb, but I was laughing so much I forgot what I was doing....she's a beast

Forgot to put this one up.....

Version 3 of the Bloody Hell....1/2" pink foam fuselage, Elmer's board built up wing and feathers, covered with 1.5 mil Doculam, painted with rattlecan.

I've flown her 3-4 times, but no video yet......been too cold and now snow........Continue Reading

Another variant........27" WS x 43" OAL with a 90 mm fan and fabricated nacelle....Flew her about a week ago.....she's a bullet...need to turn the throws down and the expo up......video when the snow melts and it gets above freezing

SS 12 (2 min 6 sec)

Fun with nacelles....decided to form one instead of depending on Wendy's and McDonalds for my thrust cones...two layers of heavy construction paper laminated together with Tite-Bond....inlet fairing is a piece of 5/32 vacuum hose split lengthwise ...outlet is 3.0625" diameter (7.37 sq-in, which is 95% of FSA for this 90 mm fan)

And then I built a test stand......(2) cross pieces, (8) Verticals and (4) Spacers

Getting the fleet back up to full compliment..another one of these.......the last one lasted less than 2 minutes....... LOL....today's effort...27" StealthStream with a 70mm fan....tape, servos, electrics, pushrods and control horns...Continue Reading

I named her "The Garand" because I took the shape of her nose from a 30 caliber rifle bullet.......Enjoy

Fitted the nacelles to the wings....up next is the fuselage

I built a better hot wire cutter using a variable voltage/amperage power supply and I've been playing with it....cut these two 70mm nacelles yesterday for a 48" twin fighter bomber I'm working on.....new fuse and feathers..... wing is salvaged from a failed build....but what I discovered this morning was that clear packing tape adheres better and it shrinks when you hit it with a sealing iron set at ~ 3 - 3 1/2.....

Back to designs and components I KNOW will fly

Here's what happens when I channel Kelly Johnson and Wile E Coyote.......

UPDATE: That POS Taft Hobbies 90mm 12 bladed fan (1850 kV motor - 4000 mAh 40C 6S) wouldn't push this thing across a waxed hardwood floor even with Teflon strips glued to the bottom of the skids......4 tries to make this fan useful was 3 tries too many........but it sure sounded great as it sat there on the ground....not moving........at all.......ever.....FUPOS....

I've got 2 to build now.....that little blue foam fighter (The Blue Brick) and now this one..a twin engine (wing mount) variant of the Avro CF-105 Arrow....I've built this one before with moderate success.....hopefully this one will perform much better.....I call her the CF-105.2

I built it a couple of years ago with cardboard nacelles and a lot less knowledge about fan sweep areas and efflux cones...she flew, but I'm hoping this version will fly better, especially with new (read : better designed) nacelles

This one was an experiment.....first time working with blue foam and my first Armin wing......I mashed together several airframes just so I could use the nacelles from a ME-262.....

And here's the flight video

Haven't built this one yet....just finished the preliminary drawings.......plan is for a 60" wing span, KFM-2 wing, and (2) 70 mm fans.....I guess we'll see soon.

Weather doesn't look to promising for flying so I guess I'll start cutting this one out.

Haven't posted in a while, so this will serve as catch up.....4 new ones.....

The white twin had 64's and was anemic in flight, the grey twin had 70's and flew beautifully, was playing around with masking tape on the camo one...and the combat was a replacement
