Update 8/13/2009 New Look
Steven at Vigilante RC is making some great custom decal that look outstanding. I added some pictures with the new look.

Update 7/23/2009 Maiden II
Replaced the broken prop. Good instructions here . I also checked the CG and like everybody else it was not at 31mm, more like 25mm. So no more spinner and I removed some of the glue. I also reduced the aileron travel to 35%.

For the second maiden I just put here down and she took off in less the 10 feet. Still needed all the up-trim that I had to get level flight. I highly recommend to get her up as quickly as possible on the first flight to get some security blanket for trimming.

Everything is trimmed out now and I moved the aileron travel back to 50%. Inverted flight is easy and she even performs an outside loop. However I rather qualify the Sukhoi as a sportflyer then a 3D machine.

Both Flightmax and the supplied battery work just fine. I get between 4 and 5 minutes of flight time at full power.

I have now 15 flights on the Sukhoi and truly love this little airplane.

Update 7/22/2009 Maiden I
I set up the Sukhoi as recommended here.

For whatever reason I thought hand launching would be a good idea. It was 6:30am and clearly was not thinking right. The poor Sukhoi flew right into the ground and broke the prop. At that point I decided to give it a rest and start all over the next day.

Just picked up the Sukhoi from the LHS. This is officially the fasted airplane to get in the air. Out of the box and flying in 3 minutes.

Attach the landing gear. Set the expo and travel. Bind the 9303 and go flying.

I have to look for a different color scheme since two of my friends got one too. I will be hard to keep them apart once they are in the air at the same time.

I will maiden it first thing tomorrow morning as I hope the wind is calm.

05/17/2009:
Finally maiden the Mustang. Attached are some pictures with the special hatch and our dog checking out the Mustang.

Update 05/31/2009:
After many great flights it had to happen. I lost the Mustang out behind a group of trees. Cut the power and just heard that awful sound if a plane hits the ground. Since I could not see anything I was still hoping for a okay landing. I guess not so lucky.

After I carried the broken pieces home and closer inspection this should be an easy repair. Sammy70 was nice to sell me a "low mileage" original motor. I hope to have the P51 flying again this weekend
