I build a ft simple cub a few months ago. I made it as a 3 channel plane.
It is my favourite plane for now. It kind of does the things I want.

I converted it to drop a toy soldier parachute.

I have never made a balsa wood plane. This plane looks easy to bild. I bought the kit on banggood for a few euro
The bag was in a cardbord envelope. There is also a plywood panel to protect the balsa parts. I think package was ok.
In the bag there is a instruction manual, the foam pad the plane elements and as mentioned above a plywood plate to protect the rest.
There are 2 types of wood. A strong type for the strucure elements,the dark panel and some very soft for the rest. The light coloured panels.

The parts are all lasercut. At some points they are still attached to the plate. I used a hobby knife to cut them loose.
The building was straightforward. I did not encouter mayor problems.
I managed to split a reinforcement part. Luckily it is in the inside (reinforcement doubler) of the plane.
Only the upper deck is not mentioned in the build instructions. Not a real problem.

In less then 2 hours the plane was ready.
I used screws (not inculded in the kit) to get the cg correct.
The cg as in the manual did not work out. I found it by trial and error.

It is build as a glider plane but i think it is not too hard to convert it to RC.

My first succesfull build was the tiny trainer with a fixed wing.
After a few months of flying fixed wings I think I am ready to move on to 4 Channel. For me it makes sence to do that also wiht the tiny trainer.
Instead of building only the "sport wing" I build a new tiny trainer.
This is all new for me so I opted to use 2 servo's in the wing and 2 channels on the receiver. There is 3 position switch on the transmitter.
I can now use that one to use the ailerons as flaps (both down and up).
Maybe I will never use it but it was good to figure out how te set the transmitter to make that work.

The magnum reloaded is great. But the cheap servo is not. The insides of the rudderservo stopped working during the last flight.
The rudder was stuck, the plane went in a downwards spiral and crashed...
New servo's are on their way and the magnum will fly again.

We had some great flying weather te last days. No wind. Ideal for flying the hobyzone champ in the garden. Taking of on the driveway, over the chickencoop, around the vegetable garden, around the three, through the swing and lining up for the landing. Over and over again. Great fun.

Well I'm glad I'm an rc pilot and not a real one.
I took the electronics off the jupiter junior and build the flite test mini speedster.

The first flight went well and I can report that the mini speedster is still in sercive. It has already some battle scarfs. The biggest problem is the landing gear. I don't have piano wire. I used copper wire instead but that is too soft and it bends easily in a non perfect landing. But it is easy to fly.

The magnum reloaded. The looks are ok, the fuselage is 1 piece and it is ok for a beginner.

The building techinque is different. I don't have easy acces to EPP but Extruded XPS will probably work. I tried cutting it wiht a knive but that was that easy.
I have mada a prototype hot wire cutter with the power supply of an old pc. I use the 5.5V and some wire i've found in my basement. 0.8A and the wire is hot enough to make clean cuts.

I made a cutout of the fuselage to use as a template on the cutter. Looking good so far.

I finished the Jupiter junior. Did the first flight in too much wind. Everyting was fine for the first minute then it crashed.
Broke the landing gear. Also the nose broke off the plane.
A little bit of glue and as good as new.

I'm waiting for a day with no wind to give it another try.

I made some progress on the jupiter junior.
The parts are cut . Looks like the paint is eating the foam I use.
So it will be greenisch instead of pink and white.
The weight now without electronics and no motormount is 71gr.
I still need a pilot. I think my kids will hapily donate one.
For electronics I have 2 5gr servo's, a 20gr outrunner
500mah 2s battery and a reveiver.

Looking good so far.

The plane fits my ability's as new builder and new rc- pilot.

I studied the plans and made some adjustments. The foame I have is 5mm and I adjusted the angle of the horizontal stabilizer as mentioned in the build log.
Pink and white it will be. Since there is some pink and white paint left after I painted a bleu bike pink for my daughter.

This is the first post so let me introduce myself.
I'm new to the hobby.
When I was a kid there was a RC club (and still is) not that far away. We (my brother and I) saw the planes and very long antenna's form the backseat of my fathers peugeot. I new then I wanted to fly a rc plane...
20 Year later my brother gave me a present, a micro drone. I flew it almost everyday for more than 1 year. That was fun. Untill my son (6Y) crashed it to the wall and it was no longer possible to repair.
But I wanted something to fly.
I bought a hobbyzone champ. But it is hard to fly outside for an new pilot.
So a few weeks ago I ordered some electronics and bought foam. I built the FT mini speedster. Flew the thing 3 times and repaired it after every flight. (1st flight had the motor running the wrong side, 2nd flight crashed it into a tree, 3th fligt crashed it into the concrete beyond repair).
But man that was fun. So I built the FT tiny trainer and enjoy flying.

I saw some nice plans here on the forums and there is a lot of foam left.
