Synergy with Whoop Fc (0 min 33 sec)

I installed Whoop FC, Crazybee F4 Pro V3.0, on Synergy from RC Factory. FC works as a receiver, ESC and gyro and weighs only 4.3g. It has 2-4S input, 10A ESC, and 1A BEC, so I think it is suitable for Synergy class aircraft. The range of the built-in receiver is not long, so it is recommended to use it for indoor flight.

・Servo Connection
Servos can be connected to pads which can be set to timer output ports. For this FC, LED_Strip, TX1, RX1, TX2, and RX2 pads can be used. (IRX1 cannot be used because it is connected to an inverter. BUZZ also cannot be used because it cannot be set to a timer output port.) I used LED_Strip, TX2, and RX2 pads for Servo 1 (AILERON), Servo 2 (ELEVATOR), and Servo3 (RUDDER). They are connected to PA0, PA2, and PA3 of the MCU. Betaflight resource commands are:

resource servo 1 A00
resource servo 2 A02
resource servo 3 A03

The wiring diagram, actual wiring, and assembling the servo connector are shown in the pictures.

・Betaflight Setting
The motor is connected to the M1 connector. FC is placed so that the M1 connector is facing forward and attached to the back of the fuselage (see photo). The board alignment is roll 0 pitch 0 yaw -45.

as i coundnt understand the meaning of that box that shows at some posts, i began to speculate.
here are the pics as they change when i press or roll. this example is with a 3 positions switch.
am under the impression that when i press or roll, changes something from white to black background, and this means that white is not active and black is. then when roll it moves to different position of the 3 of the switch and start all over for each of the 3 positions.
still dont get it when it is white and there is a small black spot under, sometimes is smaller, others is wider; sometimes there is another on top also. this may be white or black. also, the square piece at the bottom sometimes is half white/half black.
and also there are some notes in the "manual" that comment on them.
i hope my doubts can easily be explained and this will be of great convenience for me and many others that use this series of radios and are in the same situation.
but wait, am beginning to see the light. for those who have the manual, or have access to it on line, see page 8: there is a drawing near the bottom left that tells: 'tip' here you find some data. and below, next to it, there is another clue in auto switch select. also in page 31 at top. and page 32 at the end. seems that the fellows that wrote the manual never considered that there are no explanations about this so we could...Continue Reading

The embedded GPUs are out there. They're just 3x the price 2 years ago.

The lion kingdom believes the biggest improvements are going to come from improving the camera more than confusing power which no longer exists. Improving the exposure would improve every algorithm, so back light compensation is essential. Exposure could be adjusted so 99% of the pixels land above a certain minimum on the histogram. Unfortunately, the GeneralPlus has limited exposure control. Polling the video4linux2 driver, you get some settings.

The only functional ones are contrast, saturation & backlight compensation. Backlight compensation is really some kind of brightness function. Saturation & contrast are some kind of software filters. The values have to be rewritten for every frame. Color definitely gives better face tracking than greyscale. The default backlight compensation is already as bright as possible. Changing saturation & backlight compensation from the default values gave no obvious improvement.

Face tracking could use higher resolution. There was also using a bigger target than a face by trying other demos in opencv-4.x/samples/dnn.

openpose.cpp ran at 1 frame every 30 seconds.

person-reid.cpp ran at 1.6fps. This requires prior detection of a person with openpose or YOLO. Then it tries to match it with a database.

object_detection.cpp ran at 1.8fps with the yolov4-tiny model from This is a general purpose object detector.

Since only 1 in 4 frames are getting processed, there could be an alignment & averaging step. It would slow down the framerate. It wouldn't do well with fast motion.

Finally did maiden flight today. As expected a nice easy flying twin. Maiden done without cowls and back fuselage cone off. Third flight everything mounted and my normal 5 min duration. Lipos showed 3.85 volts per cell after landing. Lipos mounted very back edge of tray and stacked per pair. Flaps extended for last flight causing minor nose pitch up.

Rimfire 50cc motors
APC 22/12 wide e-props cut down to 20.5 diameter
CC 160A HV esc per motor.
12S 5000 per motor. SMC 5000 55c lipos

The thing I like about the smart chargers are they do a better job balancing, more accurate, easier to read and can measure internal resistance during charging.
The downside of the smart chargers at least for mine are they are extremely slow on discharging due to their small size and lack of heat sink. Just a fan. Not a problem for me because I have other heavy duty chargers that can discharge up to 5 amps. The fact that I run my batteries down to 50% on average for every flight means I do not have to storage charge.

I have three single chargers or smart chargers, one dual 400 x 2 charger and one quad charger with four ports.

Had one single charger die on me years back.

Now my quad charger is a three port charger because of one of the ports is bad. And it appears that maybe a second port on that quad charger is on its way out also. I know this because when I plug a battery into Port one I get 4 amps charging but when I plug into your Port too with the same cables I only get two and a half amps with the same battery and charging leads. Payed $30 for the quad charger so considering I've been using it for years I think it's not so bad. Also one time when I was charging a plastic bag block the fan holes causing charger to overheat causing the second port damage. The fact that I pushed the charger to the limit to its maximum charging capacity also probably does not help. All my other chargers are capable of charge at a much higher rate than what I'm actually using them for so I don't push those to the limit.

I have a smart charger that may have a problem with six cell batteries. It appears to work fine at the beginning but as it warms up something happens to the six cell on the charger. I made a habit of charging the same battery on that same charger which is a good idea because I've got a bunch of six cell batteries. Each six cell pack is charged on its own charger.

So, As you can see with this pic of my RC trailer I have been a fanboy of the Cellpro 4s since 2006. Since I have my adult son, me and 3 grandsons all fly R/c and any given Sunday will show up at the field its a popular hotspot to charge at and the only charger I trust the kids or guests to use. Even at large scale events people will pop in and throw a few packs up and come back. The reliability of these chargers and now defunct FMA/Revlectrix I thought I would document a few of the items and threads into one spot as I recently went through them to get my newest ones to the backlit LCD blue screens. I hope to add as much history and content as possible. Here's the start............................

When troubleshooting a charger it also encompasses the power supply if not internal, charger Leads, balance board, and battery, balance leads. So this blog is also about all of the above.

There are a lot of connections that can go bad intermittent or partially bad. Charger leads can break often and connectors can go bad. Bad connectors can be balance lead or battery and charge lead connectors, balance bored connectors charger lead connectors including banana plugs on some chargers.
One connection not often thought of is the connection between the power supply and the charger if the power supply is external. Feel the connections for heat. If there is heat then there is a bad connection. The same applies to battery connections and aircraft connections. Overtime the leads/connectors can fail.
Thin stranded wire will last longer than thick stranded wire of the same gauge. The more flexible the better. Preferably copper.

Internal failure in charger
Assuming your power supply is adequate for your charger, neads to supply correct voltage and current.
Problems can be in the charger internally which may not be repairable. Other than maybe simple connections inside the charger, there is not a lot you can do to fix it. I had one charger with the power supply Jack go bad on charger. I simply soldered the wire permanently to charge. The problem in many chargers is you simply can't get into it easily to repair it. Not sure what went wrong......there's no one big thing, but there's a bunch of little "That-Don't-Look-Right's"....I'm going to finish her today, but will probably just give her away......

The hatches don't fit like they should, and it seems that the polyurethane had a softening effect on the foam,,,,it will dent just by handling it.....also, I made the nacelles about 1.5" too I said, it's not one big thing...just a bunch of little stuff
