We got back out on the hill yesterday for a little sun and Slermal flying.
The conditions were very different from the previous outing , temps in the mid 50's {no snow } and a whole hill full of hang gliders
It was very nice to be able to soak up some sun ,watch the hang gliders do their thing and get a little air time ourselves .

JJRC H28 ( Retro quad ) (5 min 38 sec)

I haven't played with this one very much .
Simply because it cooks the battery , JJRC 1200mAh - 2s - 30C .
So this might be the 3rd time I have flown the JJRC H28 .

It handles ok , but very much like any large prop'ed - brushed - quad = Float'y and a little slow on the throttle .
Definitely needs a high discharge battery . The factory battery never cut it for the job . Hence the H28 is like new .
What was unique about the H28 was the removable arms .
You could remove the arms for transport in a back pack or something .
This was very much Pre folding arm quads .

My little Piper cub was maidened with success on last tuesday

The purpose of this plane was to be used to learn how to fly "indoor" to young pilots.
It's a very fun and easy to fly model.
Easy to build and of course very affordable.
I wanted a plane easy to store and to carry so the wings can be removed.

The plane can be used to fly "indoor" and also to fly "outdoor" (in calm weather)

For now the plane is powered with a small Bushless 2205c 1600kv, a 12A ESC, a 8x4.3sf prop and a 450mAh 2S 30c lipo.
Average flight time outdoor is : 6 minutes +
AUW is : 245g

Piper on the Rocks (1 min 29 sec)

Cheers !

I've read this nice blog about US Drone Regulations. It is pretty informative, especially if you are a beginner.

I'm started off flying drones many years ago when drones were rare so I decided to build one.
I was good at it so I built another and another...
Today, I fly fixed wing only.
I've tried many AP's propably close to 10 and settled on Eagletree Vector and MFD gear.
I fly Futaba.
I love the unpredictability of the sky and its beauty.
I am driven by determination.

This is my Skynetic Havok Racer 1000mm PNP Unboxing & Review.

Skynetic Havok Racer 1000mm PNP - Unboxing & Review (7 min 23 sec)

Here are the Review Notes for this Fast RC Plane:

Pros:
- Looks great
- Robust paint
- Large battery bay
- Carbon reinforcement all over the plane
- Built like a tank, even without the CF
- Nice place to grip it for underhand tosses

Cons:
- I found the battery tray install to be overly complicated, but that could have just been me.

Today we feature Rodger Hecht's build of a John Morgan design...

This is a seldom seen North American Aviation FJ-1 Fury over Rabbit dry lake in Lucerne Valley, California !
North American FJ-1 Fury at Rabbit dry lake (6 min 22 sec)

This early US Navy jet directly led to the development of the FJ-2 Fury and the legendary F-86 Sabre jet of Korean War fame !

If you want to help me out, all I ask is that you open it in "YouTube" click the "HD 1080P" gear, and watch the video there...it does help, trust me !

Wishing everyone all the best during the COVID madness...

INTRODUCTION
After the relative success of my first project, and my admiration of the flight characteristics of my Son's Durafly A1 Skyraider (1100mm), I decided that I would try to replicate that performance in a kit built project.

Of all the Skyraider...Continue Reading

I was asked by a customer to modify my F106 kit into a Dagger, I had to make new tail and side plate templates, move the cockpit back and shorten the spine, but the rest was identical, this one is slightly heavier due to the extra foam at 8.65 oz rtf, but still 27.5" long, 20" wingspan.

Here is a video of my Delta Dagger in flight, was a nice day , first flight which is the last in the video I misjudged my distance a bit and just caught the edge of the long grass...

Here is a video on the run times of two different drill battery sizes.

Brushless Rc With a 18v Drill Battery? (Part 3) (3 min 30 sec)

Honestly, I think I was hoping for a little bit better run times than that, but it's still not bad considering that I could probably run non stop with my four total batteries and two chargers. As stated in the video, the bigger battery seemed to do a little bit better on the take off (can put out more peak amps), but I had expected that. Again, overall the batteries did a fantastic job. Way better than I ever thought they would. I also think that I chose the absolute perfect motor for this application. Anyways, have a great day everyone!
