With our site closed for Xmas, a small cadre of us showed up for some flying on the 24th. I understand a smaller group had the same idea and showed up on the 23rd to test out Paul's retriever.
We had some great flying, the wind was out of the NE with more East than North. So the guys spent most of the time on the East side. Wind was pretty steady at about 10mph which enabled slope planes to get out. I got a chance to try out my early Xmas present to my self, a 70-300mm Tamron VC zoom. All the pictures in the 12-24-10 blog were shot using it. It looks like a keeper to me (pictures look a little sharper and more contrasty....to me).

There be wind! After nearly a month long "drought" we finally had a good breeze. About 15mph out of the East to ESE. We all gathered at the SE "bowl" and flew till about 12:45pm when a strong rainstorm reared it's ugly head. About 1/2 of us headed down to the Peachtree and enjoyed a great lunch and some added treats of cupcakes from our favorite waitress.

This Saturday, was again a light day. Most of the wind seemed to come from passing thermals only. Just like last Saturday, we found ourselves on the NW corner. While much of us sloped handlaunches or flew parkflyers, a small cadre practiced winching from the SW corner. Hopefully this next Saturday will bring the Winter winds we love.

Saturday was a weak day. Winds were very light. We started out on the North side with about a 5mph wind. By day end it has shifted to the West side and conditions had not improved. The only "highlights" of the day were my spectacular crash (HL Jerry) and Ben had picked up a new "mini-Rotor".
