My condolences and sadness for the events in Texas !

Happenings !

A battery came in the post = GN3 2s 450mAh 80 - 160C ( Thats crazy discharge )
Obviously a hot little quad battery . But will fit in the Ezio 800 no problems .
CG looks to be about the same as with the larger battery I used in my 2nd flight . ( Usable CG for the experienced )
Still might need a little dead weight in the nose though for a good CG .

DLG Launch Setting ( Rudder / Elevator ) (2 min 49 sec)

Quick and dirty video on DLG launch settings ( Rudder / Elevator )

It's not hard ..
I just picked the easiest switch to use , and set it up as my launch switch .
When I launch , I just wait for the DLG to level out and hit the switch and thats it .
Ok , might take a few launches to get your offsets in the sweet spot . But once it's done !

Okay, this report is not exactly r/c related but it involves a lovely bi-plane. It just so happens to be a full sized one! : ) Anyone I know that loves r/c planes also enjoys articles involving the full sized models! So bear with me...

About the only advantage that I can think of when growing old is when you hit a milestone. If you are lucky, you might just reap a nice reward! Such was the case for me recently when I hit the ripe old age of 70! Holy smokes! When did that happen? I think like a 40 year old, but when I look in the mirror, I get wrenched quickly back into reality…oh ya….I am getting “long in the tooth!” Bummer!

As a birthday gift, my family all pitched in to purchase a 30 minute flight session in an old Boeing Stearman that flies out of The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum in nearby Mount Hope, Ontario.

As you know this is an open cockpit design so it promises to be quite the experience. I have been waiting for warm weather as I figure it might be a tad cooler at altitude.

The date was booked and now all I needed was for the weather to co-operate! I woke up in the wee hours of Tuesday morning and it’s a regular monsoon going on outside!! I check the weather network and it shows a long line of storms going through the area but it should stop raining by 7:10 am. We leave the house at 10 am and head to the museum, about a 15 minute drive. As we approach the airport, the skies are dark and ominous with the cloud deck at 700’! Man, if you want the...Continue Reading

DustOff #3 - Glue & Fly Series F22 Mini V2 - Back to the Original ESC ;-)

Here is a link to the Video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tPJMsHruBG0

This is just my 3rd flight of this Parkjet since completing my Line-Of-Sight Training.
I had forgotten how much fun this Parkjet is to fly ;-)
Let's blow some Dust Off!

The skill level needed for this Parkjet is Beginner to Intermediate.
Beginner setup is a 2S Power System with a 6x4 Prop.
Intermediate setup is a 3S Power System with a 6x3 Prop.
It's a great Trainer on a 2S Power System, Fast & Acrobatic with a 3S Power System.

This was my Trainer Parkjet when I transitioned to Planes ;-)

If you would like a copy of the Plans & Associated Documents send an email to
[email protected]
In the Email Subject enter: GFS F22 Mini V2 Plans
I will get them to you as soon as I can.
You're going to love it ;-)

I have been gradually adding various peripherals to the FC in preparation before installing in a model (TBD).
Adding the SiK radio allows me to easily edit parameters without using a computer. I use Qgroundcontrol on my Android phone.

N.B. Check the USB-OTG cable/connection to the ground station. For Android, I would recommend "Easy OTG Checker".

Wiring:
I made a cable connecting a 4 wire servo connector to a 6 pin DF13 (in my case a JST for the Hobbyking radios).

Red: 5v to 5v
Black: Ground to Ground
Yellow: R1 to radio TX
Green: T1 to radio RX

Parameters:
SERIAL1_BAUD 57
SERIAL1_PROTOCOL 1

Yep Les Amis,

The RPM Filter in BetaFlight 4.0 removes any motor noise with surgical precision by positioning very narrow notch filters in real time on the motor frequencies. Notch filters have infinite noise suppression at the center so the RPM filter removes motor noise completely while adding very little delay, truly taking flight performance to a new level. This has become possible by real-time rpm telemetry, introduced recently in BLHeli32.

And now this is possible on BLHeli_S hardware, too! Introducing JESC:

- JESC is a new open source firmware for BLHeli_S ESCs

- Requires an efm8bb21 based BLHeli_S ESC. You can recognize them by their name tag displayed in BLHeli Configurator: if it contains an H in the middle like F-H-30 it's supported.

- Based on BLHeli_S but removes all the legacy protocols and related code for light-weight code base.

- DShot 300 and Dshot 600 supported.

- Adds 48khz PWM mode for extra smooth freestyle flight.

- Super reliable protocol detection due to focus on modern protocols only.

- Adds extensibility with services.

- Optional RPM Telemetry add-on firmware available for small $$ to enable BetaFlight's Rpm Filter and the coming Dynamic Idle feature via dshot signal line rpm telemetry at up to dshot 600 and 8k pid frequency. No additional wiring required.

- New startup tones which indicate whether rpm telemetry is active.

- Configurable using the new jesc-configurator.

The results are smoother and colder motors - even with bent props - and better pid loop performance due to the much reduced filter delay. The ESCs make this possible by sending the current speed of each motor at full pid loop speed to the FC where it's used to tune the filters.

Do you want to change the #FPV camera on your quad but couldn't do due to the only mounting size like 19x19mm?

Are you confused that your #frame has only 20x20mm mounting hole or only 30.5x30.5mm mounting hole, so you couldn't use some new ESC combos?

Are you worrying that the capacitor on the back of the quad may be damaged in a crash then cause the quad burn in the air?

And do you want to protect motors from a crash to reduce your loss?

Now #HGLRC Sector #freestyle frame gives you all the solutions.

- 5", 6", 7" options
- 19x19mm and 22x22mm cam mountings in one frame
- 20x20M2, 30.5x30.5M3 mounting hole in one frame
- Motor protection
- Capacitor slot protection
