Un INCONTOURNABLE ! Je test aujourd'hui le EMAX TinyHawk S ... Un des seuls défauts du premier TinyHawk c'était certainement le manque de puissance pour voler en extérieur et effectuer des figures ... Problème résolu avec le "S", non seulement vous pourrez vous initier en 1S, trankilou, en indoor, mais vous pourrez également évoluer dans la discipline en 2S et profil 2, en outdoor, grâce à sa puissance et sa stabilité. Une évolution très intelligente de la part de EMAX qui a su ajouter juste ce qu'il faut à un engin qui avait fait ses preuves. En bref, un excellent investissement pour débutants et confirmés qui pourront utiliser ce petit engin, avec un petit stock de batteries, n'importe où et n'importe quand ! Bon film à Tous ...

Never heard of them before , if not for a youtube video !

Should be RTF .. Brushed / 2s / flying wing ...
I saw some video and thought how interesting / fun it looked .
So after a search I found one on FEE-Bay for $66 Ozzi Bananas ..
That's pretty much 2 packets of sig's here in Oz . ( Around $1 each death stick )
And I promised myself I would not buy more models ( Till Christmas )

All controls were set to stock throws and settings. The elevator setting was neutral and I did not set the elevator down as shown on page 10. Takeoff was from asphalt into a 3 mph headwind using high rates with flaps up and SAFE Off. On downwind No trim was required so turned SAFE On. Tested the recommended flap settings and they worked fine with full or no power. Despite my previous concerns with asymmetric thrust there was NO Rudder required to maintain heading throughout the throttle curve. I did use more rudder for coordinated turns but found an aileron to rudder mix for scale like flying. The center section flaps really allow slow takeoffs and approaches. But with full power and full up elevator she accelerates at a 90 degree angle! At straight and level with max power I saw no aileron or roll oscillation. (On other 60 -70 mph models I’ve switched to the V900 RX to eliminate roll oscillation). With power off and full flaps and full up elevator there was no abrupt stall or tip stall. With full aileron added a gentle spiral of 3 or 4 turns was tested. Recovery is quick and easy by releasing sticks and adding power. I was having too much fun doing slow scale like touch and goes to do any extreme aerobatics and will test that out on another day.

I noticed that she does not want to slow down on landing roll out and I almost went off the runway pavement end 2 times! I could put Aerostar 60 amp RVS speed controls in for reverse thrust but I don’t want to give up the ramp/...Continue Reading

In the F3K model glider competition, there is one task that asks for a specific timing strategy. It is called 1, 2, 3 and 4 minutes in any order. This document describes the task, and the specific decisions that need to be taken by the pilot, and tries to formulate the optimisation strategy.
However, currently, it is not clear if there is an ‘easy’ general strategy for a pilot that he can use to support the decisions to optimise his possible score.

Description of an F3K glider plane and it’s useage.
An F3K glider plane is maximum 1.5 meters of span, and weighs between 200 and 500 gram, depending on type and ballast load chosen. The pilot can launch his glider with a discuss launch technique to about 50-80 meters high, sufficient to fly about 1 to 2 minutes without thermal activity in the surrounding air. When finding favourable thermal activity, the pilot can use his remote control to control the plane, optimise the flight path, and stay aloft for an extended period of time. If the pilot desires so, he can also land the plane to end the current flight and make a restart. A landing and restart will take about 2 seconds for a trained pilot, up to 10 seconds.

I present to you, the B-Wing...

This is my 1st design in my "get back into FPV" project series. It's called the "B-Wing" because it's designed to be a [B]asher wing, meaning it is cheap and fast to build so I can focus on hitting various tree gaps and improving my FPV skills. Also, because it's not designed to have the highest performance but rather be quick and cheap to build with adequate performance for it's intended use (i.e. it isn't an "A" level perform but a "B" level). This wing will utilize my 3d printed Caddx Turtle v2 swappable FPV pod so I can move it between various planes as I test different designs. This wing has a KFm-4 airfoil, and I plan to make a version 2 with a KFm-2 airfoil for comparison.

So, turns out I am really distracted and accidentally glued the two wing steps together, making a KFm-2 instead of a KFm-4

Anyways, with the plane built up it was time to go test! To keep this post short and sweet, I will summarize the maiden results

1) It flies... technically. But it doesn't fly well
2) Alot of 'bobbing' and flutter in the wing under loading (i.e. pull-up, turns, etc)
3) Tested various CG positions, found that the plane was close to spot-on or maybe a bit nose heavy for this airfoil

So feeling a bit disappointed but curious as to what was causing this 'bobbing' action, I went home to do some research and change a few things.

I thought this Tiny Wing would make for an excellent Micro FPV Wing ;-)
It has several flight modes; 6-axis, 3-axis, and manual.
It's made from EPP Foam which should make it extremely durable ;-)

Well, the wind on the ground was 3-5mph and a bit stronger 20-30 feet up but it's not going to get any better!
Time to perform a Full Manual Flight of this Tiny Wing ;-)

We made a weekend trip from Finland to Wings over Europe event in the north France to visit a bit bigger venue than our local events. Also wanted to see Jase Dussia flying live. No personal flying though, as we flew to Brussels and just took car rental to get to the Maubeuge airfield and couldn't carry any planes with us.

We arrived Friday evening just to catch some of the last demos and spent Saturday on the site. On Saturday the weather was rainy, but I think that helped Aerobertics sales as people kept drooling at the display planes and fortunately the weather allowed key demos to be flown.

The event had to be the biggest concentration of Extreme Flight planes in Europe at the time!
