"One who fails to reach the Great Wall is not a hero." The Great Wall is known as one of China's symbols. But this majestic ancient building that has stood in China for nearly two thousand years has long lost its original majesty due to the erosion of the years.

The Great Wall, the "Great Wall" in our mouth, is the greatest and most majestic military defense project in ancient China. The oldest Great Wall in history dates back to the Western Zhou Dynasty. During the Spring and Autumn Period, the Great Wall built the first climax, and the various vassal states built the Great Wall fortifications on their respective borders. However, the Great Wall during this period was relatively short and relatively low. After Qin and the Six Kingdoms joined together with China, they repaired the Great Wall links of the various vassal states and they were known as the Great Wall. The Ming Dynasty was the last era to overhaul the Great Wall. The Great Wall that we can see this year is mostly the buildings of this period.

The Great Wall resources are mainly distributed in 15 provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions such as Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Inner Mongolia, Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Shandong, Henan, Ningxia and Xinjiang. According to the National Great Wall Resources Survey conducted by the Chinese Cultural Relics and Surveying and Mapping Department, the total length of the Ming Great Wall is 8851.8 kilometers. The next logical extension of the DIY Afterburner LED unit was to ADD more functions. Seeing a microcontroller can do a LOT of things... it may as well be set up to do all the common things you might want or need.

1) Afterburner LED system - with two Modes of operation.
Mode 1: Off, or Afterburner ON = Flicker constantly (for older era jets)
Mode 2: Off, or Afterburner ON via a short Flicker (for AB ignition) and the ON Solidly (for more modern jets)

2) Strobe Light Outputs - for Three different timing version Strobes.

3) Super Gear Sequencer.
a) Two modes - Main Gear Doors close after Gear Extension.... or they stay open.
b) All Servo Endpoints can be individually set, so that the Doors are accurately opened and closed.
c) Door Operation Speed can be altered.
d) 'Memory' of the last used state, so that it can resume the same state on the next power up
e) Tracks the state of doors and retracts so that any decision to change gear direction part way through a cycle still 'reverses' everything in a correct order so there are never any 'collisions' of Doors/Retracts.

It has some Options. Such as:
- The afterburner can have a trim pot added to allow real--time setting of the AB/Throttle Trigger point.
- A Pin Header jumper to enable/choose Mode1 Afterburner (it defaults to Mode0).
- A Pin Header jumper to select the Gear Doors operation mode

It is 95% all done - the coding is done and works, but I have not made up any document(s) for it yet.
I am also still...Continue Reading

The Esprit Prop Shaft Adapter is about 30 % bigger than the stock unit so you can put more torque on the nut and threads. This translates so about 30% more gripping power between the aluminum collet and steel 5 mm motor shaft. In Jason Ms video he recommends holding the spinner backplate or motor to keep the threaded adaptor from turning. This is done with one hand while the other hand uses a wrench to tighten the nut.

I made up a tool that slips into one of the 4 motor cooling slots and this keeps the motor/shaft from turning while the collet is being tightened onto the shaft. Its a steel 6 mending bar that I cut with a hacksaw and filed down to fit the slot. Its bent into an S shape to fit between the prop and plastic nacelle. The nacelle is cut out for clearance.

Hi all,
I really hope to get the issues related to interaction with everyone resolved. I am hoping to hear from people, share progress, and learn from you all.

Below are pics of my progress. The fuselage is nearing completion of the Balsa wood build phase. I have sanded and applied filler, it is nice to see the classic B-17 lines.

Most of my electronic parts have arrived. I am waiting for the control lines as I hope to install them next to seal up the fuselage.

With this windy weather , I should move on some projects ( but my body hurts ) . Hmmmm
I have that 1 meter glider , and the Tx & Rx from the Invader , + some brushed motors that should work with folding props .

With all these new quad motors that can run 1s , you need a 1s ESC = Came today ( Yes I got this one for myself )

Hmmm , yes I want a brushless 450x wing that runs 1s ...
There is a video on youtube , a 450x wing running on a single 18650 . ( ??????? ) Not sure I like the weight !

Found another great new spot for some close proximity fpv flying. It gave me a chance to test out the Lumenier AXII Long Range Antenna on my goggles for penetration. There were far too many people around to test long range today but the new long antenna is a great improvement over the stock anttenna, especially as I sit down to fly.

NEW Lumenier AXII Long Range:

Caddx Turtle V2 on Armattan Gecko 3 with New Antenna Lumenier AXII Long Range | NO TOOTHPICK FRAME (2 min 54 sec)

Waterproof Transmitter Beam Port Bag

Piecing together a canopy has been interesting. The acetate has to be curved. Fastening glass to the ply formers has been a challenge.

I started with cardboard cutouts. I had an old cowl that was perfectly curved. It also handles the heat from my heat gun.

Glues wouldnt stick. I found that CA provided a strong surface. I used double-sided clear tape. Its an experiment right now. However, I like the acetate the im using. Keeping the inside clean will be important.

My plan is to cut out 1/32 ply frames to glue over the joints.

OK just received mine. Looks like the FTr16 receiver might be complicated. I saw a lot of threads where all any one wanted to do was complain. Change is good, and acceptance can save you money and reduce stress. So I say the PL18 probably saved me anywhere from 200 to 800 dollars. I like the lipo internal for multiple reasons, like it makes me ensure I don't be lazy and not charge, it can last up to 8 hours of fly time and most likely will, can be charged wirelessly and Micro USB so if I'm weak enough to not charge before I go to the field and even forget my Micro USB cord and remember to bring the wireless unit I can still charge. I fly airplanes, helis and am building a hex copter and am willing to bet that I will be able to use it for my hovercraft and my PT 109. It feels great in my hands, it warns me of errors I am making before I cause myself problems, tells me the battery left on both Tx and Rx with a simple graphic representation. And I still haven't found out a minuscule fraction of the capabilities available. If you are scared to buy one, download the operators manual and quick start guides and learn about it before you sell it short. It looks like the racing receiver is a bit complicated, but because I build from balsa plywood basswood and plans, I'm sure I will enjoy the challenge. Came to me from Hong Kong in about 10 days. Can't wait to launch my hex with this radidio.

Greetings. Just got a Dumas Gipsy Moth for my birthday. I decided that since there is not too much info on this particular kit from Dumas that Ill start a build thread. I intend to design the plane to be a a 4 channel with ailerons. Unlike the Trittle Tiger Moth the Gipsy is a little smaller and instructions do not include how to make it RC. With 30 to play with, I think theres plenty of room for a wide variety of options.
Im going with the lightweight PICO GWS radio that I had in my GWS Tiger Moth (Yes I love Tiger Moths)
Considering going with a brushless BL250 for power... probably almost too much but it flies the Trittle Moth with plenty of power!

Today, I converted a Hewlett Packard 500W PSU to a 12V DC bench top power supply to use with RC battery chargers. I cut off 53 wires and 10 connectors. I grouped like wires together and then covered them with heat shrink tubing. I soldered 6 12V leads and 6 ground leads each in parallel. I soldered the power on signal wires together so that the power supply turns on when plugged into 120V AC. When I was finished I connected my Turnigy quad charger to the converted PSU and the charger lit up and then I charged a 2200 3S LiPo at 8.36 amps. Pretty cool.

This morning, I had the rare privilege to hold and photograph Carl Goldberg's personal Gentle Lady. Yes, this bird was built and flown by Carl of my model aviation heroes! The Gentle Lady debuted back in 1980.
