One of my Youtube friends, Triple Threat RC, recently posted a video profiling a 3 in 1 Battery Balancer, Voltage indicator, and discharger which he recently purchased from RC Mart for less that 20 dollars. You can see his video at

Like Triple Threat, I purchased one to discharge my packs since I'm always returning from the field with fully charged packs.

I'd like to suggest to anyone purchasing this to mount the 3 in 1 like I show in the photos below since the two small wires that connect the unit to the circuit board are prone to breaking if they get twisted too much. Mine did - as you can see in the photos. Luckily I was able to repair them with some epoxy.

I thought I'd start off the new year with some pics of my fleet. There have been a few changes since I last posted any pics.

My fleet includes:

Parkzone Sport Cub
Dynam C-188 - the largest plane in the fleet

Parkzone P-51 Gunfighter - an oldie but a goodie
Parkzone P-47 - it's a litte beat up but it still flies well
Parkzone F4U-1A Corsair
Parkzone FW190 A-8 - just added the retracts
Parkzone Spitfire Mk IX
Parkzone Albatros - the latest addition

Durafly Skyraider - still going strong

Not shown - Hobbyzone Duet (for indoor flying), Flite test Bloody Wonder and Flite Test Blunt Nose Versa Wing.

All of the Parkzone models, except for the Sport Cub and the Albatros, were purchased as airframes and I added my own components.

I'm looking forward to some great flying in the new year. I hope you all are too.

Hurricane Sandy had me stuck inside since Sunday so I took the time to clean up the hanger/shop and organize the fleet. My latest addition is a Parkzone P-47 which I built from an airframe. I still need a set retracts but I may wait on them and maiden it with the fixed gear.

Yes, I've got two Durafly Skyraiders. I crashed the original back in June and I thought it was beyond repair so I ordered a second one. While I was waiting for the new one to be delivered, I was able to fix the first and get it flying again. It files great despite the fuse and wing being glued and skewered with bamboo in several places, The second was left in the box until last weekend. I'll probably sell the first one after I maiden the new one since I really don't have the room for both.

Spent last Saturday afternoon/evening at a farm in Chester County, PA with my warbird fleet. The grass at the farm is too long for takeoffs so I had to hand launch and belly land everything. Spent a great 4 hours until the packs ran out and the sun began to set.
