Pulling Gs for the whole day. Not a very fast plane, but value for money.

Did the maiden flight yesterday on this lovely super scaled 1.2m F4U-1D from LX models. It flew very well, except that you have to add counter balance at the nose to balance the plane. The detail level and the paint job are just amazing. I modified it to have 3 section flaps. It was just awesome and iconic to have a full flap landing!

To imitate the weak hydraulic system in the old days, I installed the RC Lander gear sequencer that will retract one gear 6 sec after the other gear, while still extending both gear at the same time. The only thing I don't like is 6 sec is a bit too long. I am looking for a more advance sequencer for this purpose, but right now I am happy with it.

Since this FMS Zero is an old product, the designer of the model didn't incorporate a detachable tail like what we are having these days. To me, storage space is limited so I have to make some modification on the tail, so that I can detach the tail for storage in warehouse.

Tested flew last Sunday to see the strength of my modification. I am so far happy about it.

Total loss. Crashed during an inverted flight maneuver, pilot error.

Did some touch up on the engine cowling. Used the Mr. Color #125 specifically for IJN cowling (that's slightly different from pitch black, but using semi-gloss black should produce similar results). Noted the different color tone in the pistons and the exhausts. I'm quite satisfied with the result.

Test flew the FMS 1.4m P-51D v7 on Sunday. Pass with flying colors.

The FMS 1.4M A6M2 Zero comes with black propeller blades. However, from historical photos and drawings, the front side of the propeller for early Zeros are silver while the back side is back.

So, the first step for the build is to paint the propeller to silver.

This is my newly built P-51D. I did some touch up paint job on the machine guns, the gear well, the main gear covers, and the engine exhaust. Also installed the new landing gear sequencer that is used in v8, so that the secondary gear covers will be closed once the main landing gears are full extended. Just like the real P-51

It should look better if I spent more time to plan before making the cut. Anyway, the final appearance looks alright to me. Flight test tomorrow....

Have been flying this bird for more than 10 flights with multiple transitions. Overall impression on handling quality is ok.

Dynam Hurricane is a great warbird to fly. I love the flight quality and its very easy to land as well. I added some details to give it a more realistic look. The work in future is to make a scale look engine exhaust instead of the current non scale one. Even though it doesn't look like the real one, after painted it gun metal, it does look ok....Continue Reading
