Couldn't resist following up on this and drove an extra forty miles to get.
Motor looks never run and I need to turn the backplate to match the correct n.v. placement.
Missing one screw and the glo clip and fuel tubing. Been busy fueling wood boiler
And resurrecting Troy Bilt equip., another hobby.

Some articles at least. All but the engines on the magazine near the center of pic are going to be preferentially for trade but selling is an option. Main goal is to find homes while acquiring such items as control lines and .29 size handle, maybe some WMPF kits, boat motor hardware, flywheel etc for the engines I do have, and so on. Plans I have would best be mailed in bunches after the ordeal of getting plans in a 22” heavy tube I had. My 2 plus uses for consumer items is like an obsession, especially since it is clear to me we need to be much more efficient in fossil fuel and other material useage.
The plans pictured are the two parts plans BUSA super stick 40 that are now rolled into a <22” x 1 3/4” o.d. heavy tube that should cost about 7-8 bucks to mail.

Items in the carb assembly bag. Missing the needle valve. Original staples were not holding bag closed, rather one somewhat mangled staple near bottom of card stock.

Added to sale / trade nib os 35FP, magnum 10 and cox td 051 and tank (glo head has been used), Notreadytoletgo the champion glo plug.

Since a tree was growing at the base of the north side of twenty five year old chimney.
Had to hire same fellow who put it up-me! Will reduce pay for imperfect workmanship.
I believe in getting two to five uses out of most any material, when I dismantled and rebuilt our home I reused seventy percent of the old building, mostly for outbuildings and landscaping and rebuilt house partition framing.
Been meaning to post the MM Flashback and FT Otter on relevant forums and fly them for re-trimming with new radio gear but among other tasks I have been feeding the indoor wood boiler to heat dhw and minimal inside heat; starting a month ago I have used less than a gallon of oil and around 900 pounds of wood to save 12-16 gallons of heating oil. Good thing I overall enjoy the chore. did not mention that the wood boiler is in the garage so that is usually 2-5 degrees warmer than the house and the barn kitty appreciates it as well as my wife when she does her crafts out there.
Finally a pic of me pulling up the last panel on the east side of the garage. Had help on 1/3 of the plywood, otherwise did it myself. May...Continue Reading

Sept. 24, not Oct. 6 the club I joined is having a swap meet (electric fun fly is Oct. 6). Have a lot I could sell and trade. Will also put some items on Craigslist and maybe wife,s Social media.

Joining a club again has helped and the sportster flew without any trim- albeit very marginal on 2s. Does not like the wind because it is so light. Also getting lot of flights on the Quattro and will see if I can get that used asp .12 running and give the joy stick a whirl. Have half dozen or more airframes very close to ready to fly.
Another wife idea was the pallet shed, built out of so/so pallets plus leftover materials including lumber from the original house and garage and the reconstruction.
Harvested winter wheat from one eighth of cover crop planting- roughly twelve pounds from a two pound sewing, done with walk behind sickle bar mower and hand flail. Not finished.
Roughed out most treads for steps. Will be varnishing and filling voids with hobbypoxy wood putty and sanding like I did on stringers. Then onto the center support posts and rails and balusters.

For its maiden flight. Purchased this six? years ago needing only receiver and flight battery and it only now needs a range test and stickers with the appropriate numbers to be ready to tumble. The good news is the staircase pad is done and I am making a (thin) template to cut out the stringers- risers and runners, approx. 20 inches for the latter and 6.8" for the risers. Once satisfied I will copy the template to 3 one and seven eighths thick by twelve inch by 200 inch long red oak boards that I will saw up with the mill. Will get help moving and hoisting the stringers. Meanwhile got to scrounge up staircase posts and rails and balisters from already milled oak and maple posts and planks.
The pad weighs about 2000 lbs. based on the 27 sixty pounds bags I transported from home supply store in my 97' ranger, actually purchased thirty, plus many pails of cleaned stones and concrete rubble I had gathered up.
Scooted on the snow with FT sea otter. Was airborne a bit-repairing damage and waterproofing. Nice kit got at flea market- not missing much beyond fin.

Stick 40E nearly refurbished with new maple firewall and better Velcro strap. Have to figure out the antenna tubes for the 2.4 Airtronics rx and will be using a dimension engineering device that reduces the speed when any cell reaches a certain voltage. Most important is to range test as I have been so lazy about that. Had I tested the new antenna for range that I purchased here 20 years ago three or four airframes would have had a better time. Sickle bar mower almost back to good. Pic of knife head post that I made up to replace very worn original 5/8" x 2 1/8" post. Took me four hours or so. Post made from ell hitch pin.

Pictures 2,4,6,&8 are remains of chargers, frame rate speed controls and the odd circuitry that I keep to try and truly recycle them. They are up for grabs for the price of postage (imax 5, Gt 6)...Continue Reading

At least spending some time repairing and completing airframes and radio gear. The indoor flyer needs the motor from the donor partly constructed model. The servos go haywire on the completed model if moved more than approx. halfway and I must have damaged the motor with my clumsy paws. The sea otter is getting light spackle to fill and smooth the cut ends of the foam and will be taped taped to seal for water operation, maybe a light yellow coat of paint.
In the 141 consecutive days of running the wood boiler I have mostly figured out optimipum operation and the oil burner has consumed only three gallons of fuel oil, most in the first week. Normal consumption would be approx. 250 gallons to date. It has been taking 80 - 90 pounds of wood a day in coldest part of winter to heat garage pad(57-66*F), the house radiators (61-66*F) and what ever hot water is needed for baths, dishes, and laundry. I wasted a lot of wood until I learned the correct setting of primary and secondary air-an angry flame in the sight glass. The garage has more square footage than the house so it is no small chore or expense to heat so hopefully five or six cords will do a year and I can always burn dry pine once I get the staging area set up.
Weighing system consists of baby scale and result is usually an 18 pound pile of wood some of which I usually split to start fire and get optimal burn. On the modeling side I have much to do getting radio gear in shape, need certain rx crystals plus...Continue Reading

The GWS do not work for my application so $6 plus shipping for all, and am hoping to trade the yellow top airtronics crystals 32 &38 for ch 28, maybe 45 as well. Likewise on the micro bergs 45x2, 32 x2, 33 & 59 trade for 28 et. al., The large berg SR 21 trade for 53 or 51, those are difficult to find. The 2 hitec blue stripe on 11 for28 or 53/51.

Even with laser cut kits I,m slower than molasses. Radio installation is the biggest struggle, small airframes especially.
Micro laser stick is about 4 ounces four channel but no tail wheel. Two willynillies and a sig hummer. On the hummer will elevate the fuel tank a little and use the canopy to cover it.

One of three cl planes began flying with friends help. Wanting to complete some 1/2 a rc planes but among other demands I have to saw a bunch of logs for house and garage projects.before the cold weather. Would gladly trade some of the aircraft I have for help with firewood etc. but rather remote possibility....Continue Reading

After many years of concentrating on building a post and beam garage and servicing cars, house systems etc., finally resuming r/c. Many if not most planes need a little finessing to get them in good shape. The flashback kit I bought here (as jim e) and the canopy was crinkled, Have to redo magnet system or use another method to secure canopy (Velcro?). The foam sportser is ready, just do not like how the motor goes wild if you turn off the tx while battery is hooked up-probably the airtronics rx so may change. My fry sky equipment is now "legacy" but still should work okay. Here's to hoping to,learn knife edge after 37 years of flying r/c. Oh and I hope to get a lot more organized!!

Over five years to (mostly myself) build this garage from trees out back and milling them as needed. I have half of the three bay loft, woodshop and building tables. My wife has the other half with her well organized and stored materials. The main floor has two bays with radiant heat (not yet hooked up) and a 12 x 22' wood shop area that is over a basement with indoor wood boiler waiting to be hooked up as well. Got some more radio gear on rcg at reasonable prices. Slowly starting to resume r/c flying.
