Well got two new birds added to the fleet for 2014. New to me but both were released about three years ago. The Tower Hobbies F4U Corsair and Park Zone S.E.5a. I was up in the air on what to get but both of these were proven to be great flyers. Looking forward to flying both as soon as the weather starts to break. I went to the S.E.5a due to having the Albatros won me over to the WWI War birds, and the TW F4U due to my rough field i didn't want to fool around with retracts, just fly. Looking towards posting more in the future with these two.

For the Last year my Daughter Jordan has been my official photographer at the field and has done an outstanding job. She has managed to get some great action shots and has made Her Dad look good. This is Her senior year of High School so She won't be around much longer, but we have had some great times together at the field. We went to the field on Saturday for the first time this year and brought some old favorites with us. As soon as we got to the field the wind picked up and We had some gusty cross winds , and I managed to hit hard and crack the landing gear on my p51's tronion, and of course my Flyzone FW 190's gears gave up the ghost (hand launcher from now on). Well for Christmas I recieved my first EDF from my wife, a Dynam A10 Thunderbolt (Warthog). Her late Father retired from the Maryland Air Gaurd 175th Wing 104th Fighter Sqaudern as a Master Tech. Sargent who worked on A10's Till He retired. He served during the cold War, and before He retired was a vetran of Desert Storm. During peace time His unit flew over Ravens Stadium before football games as well. He was a great Father in law and I miss Him as much as my Wife. As I was finishing up this build I had also lost my Father, who had served in the U.S. Army so this build helped me through my grieving and gave more meaning to it, as well as keeping me sane. So this entry is in Honor of both My Father Harold Dunford and to my Father in law Bob Hartman. I would like to mention that I recieved alot of great tips from the Dynam A10 thread and a specail shout out to my RC Group Friend Kevin Whitesell, thanks Bud for answering all my stupid questions. I also would like to say thanks to Callie Graphics for custom Making all the sqaudern markings for me. Guys this is the first time I have used them and all I can say is Her costumer service is second to none She personally answers all Her emails, and the qaulity of the stickers are the best I've seen great detail. I wound up hand painting the Thunderbolt ,and it turned out okay, not great but okay. I also hand painted the cockpit, removed "lil Red" the pilot. Hey Guys,
Well for those of you that follow my Blog know that my Daughter Jordan is my official photographer. We went out today cause the weather was nice for once and to take up the Warbirds for Veterans Day. Jordan has been so busy due to it being Her senior year in High school thats it's getting harder to get together, but today was wide open. We loaded up the truck and headed to the field, we took four planes and went up with all of them twice. We had a spectator that ran out to watch ,He was so excited to watch them fly and I gave Him a history lesson on each one. Jordan and I had a great time today, and this was the first time she got to see the mustang fly after the rebuild. Hope you all like the pictures and to all that had served in the Armed Forces thank you from both Me and Jordan.

I have made alot of Friends here on RC Groups, and one of them is Starving Bushman. His Parents live near were I do so when He is in the area we try to hook up and get some flying in. It's great having fun with someone who shares the same interest. This was the second time we got to fly together, and it was a family affair. My wife came with Me which is rare, and took some videos and, pictures. Bushman's Mom Dad, and Brother was there as well. We had a good time. Bushman brought His Parkzone Corsair, Fun Cub, and 3-D plane. I brought my Airfield Mustang, Dynam Spitfire, Parkzone Albatros, and parkzone Wildcat. With a Hurricane two to three days away, the winds were starting to pickup, and the skies were overcast. Bushman flew all three of His, and did a great job! I took up only my Mustang ,and Spitfire. Flew the Spit only once with the wind it was a chore getting it down, but took the mustang up twice first time for pictures and the second time for a video. For those following my blog, I had just rebuit it acouple of weeks ago, and had a great test flight. I put the spinner on and wanted to see if it made a difference, it did flew alot smoother, but on the second flight on landing my rough field finally claimed my retracts, no biggie! Had a great time and it was fun lisening to my Wife, and Bushman's Mom making coments about Boy's and there toy's. Well I recieved the prop adaptor and placed it on yesterday and the APC 13x8 E prop and did a static run up on the throttle and the power 46bl motor is a monster, I thought it was going to rip the fire wall out of the plane! The motor stuck out another half to three qauter inches at full throttle. Today my Wife came out with Me cause Jordan had prior comentments. Was able to take The stang up for the remaiden, and was shaking badly not knowing what was going to happen. The photos are from the Maiden, and the Video was the second flight. Preflight checks and a nod from the Wife and hit the throttle holy moses this motor has crazy toruqe as soon as it was airborne it was crabbing big time drop it down to half throttle and she settled right in. At full throttle the motor sounds like a wood chipper, but what power! I can't think of putting a 5 or 6 cell battery in this that would be insane.I must say I'm at awe at how well it turned out. The wind was gusting at 16 MPH and the p51 would bob alittle but at no time was I scared of losing control the added power makes a muscule car out of this warbird. Came in for a landing at the 3 min mark, threw the second battery in and off it went. Both flights were on the stock 4 cell 2200 20c batteries which is why I stuck to 3 min flights. Most of both flights were on half throttle with a couple of burst, and after coming home one battery had 3.91 on each cell and the other had 3.89 on each ,the specs say that on a 4 cell 4400 30c battery you can get 8 to 12 mins or flight. Still a work in progress need to add spinner and a few more details but all and all.

Two Years ago I got the Airfield 1400mm P-51 V2 Mustang for Christmas. I was excited to take it up as soon as I built it. I waited till spring, and on it's maiden the ESC went. I replaced it, and tried again and half way through the flight heard a grinding noise, turned out to be a bent shaft. I was fed up with it and decided to sell it. I took it to my LHS and put it up for consignment, were it sat all summer long. My hanger felt short, and my handle being Mustangloyd and having no Mustang could not go on. I looked at Dynam's, Durafly's, and a few more. I talked to my Hobby shop guy and still no takers, but one guy who after talking to his wife said no. So I figured why buy a new one and give it one more try. So I swung by the LHS and got it back, and chose to go with Eflite motor and ESC. I know alot of guys would say you can get same qaulity on line for less , but I trust Eflite and never had a issue with them and to me it's worth paying more to have something that will be good out of the box and a Company that backs there product. I went with the Eflite power 46 bl motor and with 60 amp switch gear ESC. Now I could have gone with a 80 amp and run 5 to 6 cell but I have no need to go 100 plus mph, and besides this is the same set up for the Hanger 9 Corsair and is rated for planes up to 7lbs, so more than enough power. The motor was twice the size as the stock 600kv motor and had to drill out the mount to match, and the Stang looks like it's got some muscle. I will be going with the suggested APC 13x8 E prop and a Dubro 3" spinner. I was wishing to take it up this weekend but the prop adapter will not be in till the middle of the week. I plan on taking it up soon if the weather permits. As you can see it's one of the early FMS P-51 with not as much detail and Goofie the pilot. I plan on doing some work on it this winter, at lease a new pilot. Here are some pictures showing the motor and guts so far. More to post later.

A big Thank you goes out to my Buddy Glenn for sending me some three bladed props for the wildcat, and prop adaptor. Thanks ddog big time! All I can say is WOW!!! what a huge difference in speed and handeling. I would had thought that there was no way you could make hand launching any easy than the wildcat already was ,but I was wrong it just lifted out of my hand. The next big difference I noticed was the speed one qaurter throttle in a dive looked like full speed, and it just flew silky smooth. Justwingit is right as well rolls were effertless, and now for the real difference the scale looks amazing and Jordan again did Her usual above standard job on the action shots. Thanks Again Glenn,

Well a perfect end to the weekend ,would not be complete with out some flying. Jordan and I took to the field with my German warbirds, and gave the Allied Air force the night off. Flew the Flyzone FW190, and the trusty Parkzone Albatros. The FW190 is a great flying bird ,came with scale landing gear and split flaps. The landing gear is really scale looking ,but the weakest link to the model as well. There plastic and can brake easy, but other than that a sweet flying plane. To perserve them I chose to belly land it. The Parkzone Albatros what can I say that I hadn't already "Parkzone Rules" The Baron tore up the evening sky, and along with the Butcher Bird they both own the Air space. We had alittle wind this evening to fight with but Jordan and I had a blast ,and as always fellas she was on top of Her game, but I let you guys be the Judge of that.

Here is some more pictures of My Escale p-47 "Wicked Wabbit" from Hobby Lobby, from Wensdays flight. Compared to parkzones p-47 it's much lighter, and due to this she gets tossed around if it's to windy, and the cowl is paper thin and cracks easy. Other than that it's a great flyer even with the scale four bladed prop this plane is crazy fast stock, due to the light wieght of this plane. I bought the Dynam 1200mm Spitfire this season not knowing what to expect, being my first Dynam. Well they had it knocked down to $100.00 (USD) so what the hey.The first thing I didn't care for was the color. It was babby blue, and green, THAT HAD TO GO! I painted it in the BOB colors of brown and green, and swapped out the stock ESC 30a to 40a. I had two control horns that broke off (weak plastic) , and added rake to the landing gear. Thats about the only mods I did and what I found was one of the most Dosile flying warbirds I own, you have to really try to stall this plane. I was alittle scared ,hearing about how spitfires are easy to stall but this plane is a pussy cat. Some people find it to slow for there liking on 3 cell, so they mod it to take 4 cell lipos. I found it is fine with the 40a ESC and a 3 cell it flys scale. If your in the market for a spitfire don't pass this one up. It takes alittle work to get it the way you want it ,but Dollar for Dollar you can't beat it.

I've always flown, and loved WWII warbirds, but liked the looks of the Parkzone Albattros DVa . I preordered one a month before it's release date which was a first for Me as well. I normally wait to see what everyone else here on RC Groups thinks before buying a plane, but I'm glad I didn't. It took some getting use to at first cause the handling is way different than a WWII warbird, but once you get the hang of it, it's a joy to fly. The Albatros looks amazing in the air and is just a sweet flyer. If anyone is on the fence on this one take a look at the Parkzone Albatros thread, and see what others are saying then make the jump it's worth it IMHO.
