So this is my BLOG on RCGroups!

I guess I should start out saying I am a "General R/C Addict" as I have cars, planes, helis, and now quad racers.

Here is my largest model when it was under construction - a 30% Yak with a DA-50 Gas motor controlled by Spectrum Radio.

Also a few other R/C toys as an example, like my poor Flyton Extra and some quad action.

Not real sure how this BLOG thingie works but all my other planes/cars/trucks/Quads are posted under comments....so click the comments button below if you want to see more!

Acro Flying the silverised boldclash bwhoop b03 pro and the 3.5g akk bs2 camera indoors as it's too windy / rainy for brushless outdoors fun..
The whoop style quad is much easier to fly indoors than the h101/x9 frame and the b03 has more power than the normal whoops so makes for great fun!

Howdy people

so yeah.. a brick-based quadcopter that's supposed to actually fly? I would have though it would be to heavy.. Turns out, the power-to-weight ratio indeed IS pretty low
Nevertheless.. it Does fly

Link to this quadcopter: Lego / Realacc quadcopter

And here is what that looks like..

The DYS BLHeli_32 35A 3-6S DSHOT 1200 ESC w/ LED is a 32bit ESC features the latest generation BLHeli_32 firmware, and it support the newest DSHOT 1200 protocol. The 32bit archetecture enables the ESC to run at incredible speeds resulting in better performance, faster input signals and lower latency compared to older 8bit ESCs.

The ESCs are light weight and compact in size, saving weight and making builds easy and neat. The ESC features new BLHeli_32 firmware pre-installed on them.

The advantage of Dshot1200,Quote from OscarLiang: (https://oscarliang.com/dshot1200-esc-protocol/)

Comparing to Analog ESC protocols like Oneshot and Multishot, the same benefits of DShot applies to DShot1200:

Higher resolution and more accurate and reliable data
Data error rejection
Now with the advantage of even higher speed with DShot1200, there are more reasons to change over to digital ESC protocol now from analog
Comparing to other DShot protocol, DShot1200 is simply faster. And faster is always better if the system is capable of running it

Here come Some basic info of DYS Aria Blheli_32Bit 35A ESC:

Sky Eye-Z6K is a 3-axis drone gimbal specially designed for SONY A6000 DSLR.With this gimbal, you can not only realize some basic operations like gimbal Yaw and Pitch axis control, but also other much more important camera controls:zoom, record, trigger, camera power on/off etc.So it will be very useful for different industrial applications where you need both camera zooming and high definition photos, like power line and infrastructure inspection.

Another big feature for Sky Eye-Z6K is that it can be equipped with an Auto Object Tracking Module(AOTM),which will enable the pilot to track static/moving objects very easily.Further more, the AOTM is only 40 grams,do not add too much weight on the drone.
How it works:zoom in and put the object you want to track in the screen, move the cursor to the object and lock it via controller, and then the camera will track it automatically.

Sky Eye-Z6K provides an outstanding wiring hub for RC receiver and video output port, which makes the wiring job simpler and clean.
Also the gimbal offers 2 smart speed modes:FAST speed and LOW speed.Fast speed mode is used for small zooming range, which makes the gimbal control sensitive and quick.LOW speed mode is used for large zoom range, will enable you to target the object more accurately.

I captured this image from the Flite Test video highlights of Flite Fest East '17. I think it really shows the spirit of the event, a mixture of flying and community. I like the big events for experienced modelers. I've been to some in the past and I'd like to catch some others in the future but it think the Flite Test guys are seeding the future of the hobby. We won't get all the people they touch but hopefully we get enough to keep the hobby alive.

Sometimes because of noise the audio from my DX9 is difficult to hear. I've turned both battery meter/volume control and system setting volume control to 100% but the stock speaker is just not loud enough. I have a second DX9 and it is the same. The DX 6, 7, and 8 are even worse. Spektrum Technical recommends wired ear buds or headphones. I have a Bluetooth transmitter and headphones that work very good but sometimes a louder speaker is better.

Mike B (fellow clubmember) found a speaker for me to experiment with and with some extra hardware I'm very pleased with the performance and ease of use. The speaker comes with a cord for charging and you must use your own USB type charger. It does not come with a male to male 3.5 mm cable but does work with Bluetooth so you can use it with a smart phone for phone conversations or music. I have a $15 Bluetooth transmitter that plugs into the rear DX9 audio jack and the speaker works fine this way. However the transmitter is another thing to charge and pair between the DX9 and speaker so it's more of a hassle. Mounting the speaker so that it's easy was a challenge. Initially I used 3M Dual Lock but ended up with Velcro screwed to the back of the speaker. I had to disassemble the speaker to ensure the 1/16" drill bit did not damage any speaker or component. The speaker comes with a rubber strap and suction cup for shower mounting and I shortened the rubber strap by drilling a 1/8" hole in the strap. Email me for more info.

A small camera weighing in at 9.5g, yet still delivering a superb picture at 700tvl. The camera comes in prewired and easy to install, including a custom FPV servo cable for easy hookup. The 120 Degree Lens gives you a wide and full forward view, Use this camera in aircraft where size and weight is important, perfect for small multi-rotors, airplanes and even RC cars.

I thought Id get the ball rolling on a build I did of the 1M Hawk DLG that Nikoli Gorban is selling from the Ukraine. I bought the it from a fellow who purchased this kit and several items from Nikoli.
I didn't take pictures during the build, but I'd like to share what I did, what I did wrong/right, and learn from others on what may work better.
Getting Info is a little difficult as Nikoli does not speak much english. I messaged him via Facebook a few times and did get some basic info from him.
Here is what I have as of now.

Airframe kit weight: 86gr
(Fuse, wings, elevator, and rudder with control horns attached)

Servos:
3 dymond 47 2 for flaperons, 1 for elevator
1 Hitec HS-35HD for the rudder.

Receiver: Spektrum Ar6100E

Battery: Venom 1s 250mah

CG: 55mm

AUW: 132g

Im using the Hitec servo in place of another dymond, because I was doing QT's and dropped the plane on the tail which broke the servo gears(didn't have any damage to the tail!)
The fuse is super small and not much else will fit in there. the hitter is .5gr lighter than the D47 but has about 1/2 the torque.
If there is something smaller with decant torque that will fit in this airframe Id like to know.
I built the servos into a "brick" similar to what is shown in one of the build threads for the 1M strike2. I used Kapton tape and a small amount of shoe goo to hold the servos to the small fiberglass plate that came with the kit, then glued the brick into the fuse...Continue Reading
