The 9C fits quite nicely.

Put some adjustable titanium turnbuckles on the belt today. Made adjusting blade tracking a breeze.

Nice crowd at Gude today. Two t-rex 450s, a blade 400, and a couple of logo 10s, in addition to electrics, sailplanes, and a dlg.

I put 1.5 flights on the chopper; I aborted the second flight due to a loss of tail authority. Flipped into throttle hold a couple times to get the feel of it.

Replaced the tail drive belt and tossed on a s3154 for good measure. The arm is indeed really flimsy; had to reduce the EPA to 40% to prevent it from warping. I'll need to pick up some hs55 arms. Definitely less deadband than the esky servo, though.

The esky 1800 lipo is shot. After running it down to lvco, it only takes about 1200.

Had my first spot of outdoor nose-in hover at altitude this morning. Unfortunately, no footage was obtained because I cleverly left my SD card at home.

In the evening:

Might be time for a new tail belt.

Went to take off this morning and immediately went into a piro. Upon inspection, I discovered that a bearing had blown out in the tail housing and that there was a bunch of fiber/fuzz from the belt.

In retrospect, I suspect this was related to yesterday's two 180 degree yaw incidents. I think the bearing must have seized up, stalled the tail rotor, and shredded the belt a bit. Thankfully, it freed itself in flight.

I replaced the bearing and retensioned the belt and all seems fine for now.

Built a hatcam after work yesterday out of a couple pieces of coroplast. Worked pretty well.

It was cold and damp and breezy in the nation's capitol today, and as such, the parks were empty. Got another couple flights in. The 25C pack has a lot more punch than the 20C pack. The Aiptek Action HD might be interesting for $200. OpenCV looks promising for object tracking:

Finally starting to get more comfortable with altitude.
