Remember when WL Toys made those stupid add-ons to their 3 Channel heli's like a water squirter and a bubble maker, yeah, I didn't buy them either. Things have become evolved for drone the past 6 months and I though delivering a toothbrush was the high point of applied technology, seems I'm wrong leaving CVS and Walgreen's to fight it out for your sundries requirement.

Take a 2 grand octocopter, make it FPV, mount a stung gun on it and what you have left is a nasty piece of hardware.

But let's consider the defense strategy for this kind of hardware.

You piss off a security company and they send out a drone to get you, it's flying overhead till they get close, you turn around, become started and amazed at the flyer and before you know it you're going a tuna fish impression on the ground like in "Animal House".

So what could you have done, duck and jive a bit, that would work, or how about taking your sneaker off and hitting the drone. It doesn't take much to knock a quad off balance and send it to the ground.

Just a thought.

Well, it's fast for the air but when it comes to ground speed, this guy has you beat.

Nic Case created a 188mph RC car called the R/C bullet. You can't see it passing the timing gate but the equipment does it's job.

On a personal note, it's been around 6 months since we've seen the sun here on the east coast. The weather has been very cold, snow on the ground, rainy and windy with saturated ground making it impossible to step on grass. While we did have a few days of sun and 10-15mph winds stopped me as it's no time to practice quad flying.

I finally caught up with work and figured this weekend I could get outside, but it's rain today and the next three days.

When I raced my Corvette there was winter and summer racing. During winter we raced at the edge of the Delaware River with 15-50 mph winds hitting us while working the track in freezing temperatures. I did that for a few years till my body laughed at me.

During summer racing I drove as much as 90 miles in a 30 year old Corvette with poor air conditioning. Both my car and I got too old as younger guys brought newer, more horsepower, fully electronic cars to the track further making my American Iron obsolete. Hey, I still one my class but it was time to hang it up. I felt that flying would be an easier old man alternative, not so this year.

So for all you guys who have evaded this horrible US winter and those who live in scenic Europe, I hate you all.

A San Fran retail company who supplies drugstore products has received clearance to fly products via an unmanned drone.

The deliveries takes 24 hours with an additional $1 charge and fly's 20' above grade. For details, see link below.

I wonder if they'll deliver a six pack, bag of pretzels and some oxy for a nice Sunday afternoon?

If you live in Toledo you might be able to say this as Rick Hamel created one that is turbine powered and breath's fire.

Me, I'm just waiting for a real springtime here in the east coast without 15mph winds so I can practice flying my quad.

You quad without the FAA raining on your parade.

Now if the Canadian air would stop dumping snow on me here on the east coast, I might be a bit happier about this ruling.

It might be a good idea to print this article, stick in in your field bag just in case an over-zealous policeman or ignorant passerby wants to break-em for you.
