Well lets start off with the basics. This is a Thunder AC6 Dual Power Charger that can be purchased from HobbyPartz.com, NitroPlanes.com and xheli.com for the retail price of $55. This charger can charge from AC or DC power sources and charge LiPo, LiFePO4, LiLo, NiMH and NiCD type batteries. It has a background light making it much easier to see in low light conditions and only 4 buttons. It can charge at 0.1-5Amps, discharge at 0.1-1amp and charge up to 6cells LiPo batteries.
On a personal note this is a huge step up from what I have. For the last year and a half or so I use a Dynamite AC/DC LiPo charger that had fixed charge rates and could only charge 2-3 cell LiPo batteries. This charger comes with a program that you can install on your computer that lets you see charge voltage, current, capacity and temperatures on a graph. I thought this was a cool feature of the charger but not necessary as you can press the "Inc" button while the LiPo is balancing and charging and the charger will show the voltage for each cell real time.
Overall I am very pleased with my purchase of the Thunder AC6 from HobbyPartz.com. This charger will allow me to charge my batteries much faster compared to my last charger and with the $5 flat rate shipping you would be hard pressed to find a similar charger that is in this price range.
Update: I was worried that the fact there is no built in fan would be a problem and cause overheating. I can charge all day long on my desk and the thing just doesnt get hot. Not even a problem when it comes to heat.

well its been a expensive week for me. Paid all the bills and then decided that I just had to have everything I wanted...all at once. The order from hobbyking.com hit me for $100 5meters of LED light strips, single action air brush, 2 7.5 gram servos, 3 packs of micro JST extensions and a hobbyking windsock. Just couldn't help myself from buying the last one on that list
it was 2.99 and I think it would at least be kinda useful where I fly at. I decided it was time to upgrade from the LiPo charger that I have to a better one where I can actually change the charge rate. That set me back $60 at Hobbypartz.com, not bad considering the charger I ordered is a Thunder AC6 AC/DC, LiPo, NiMH, NiCD, LiFePO4 (A123), can charge up to 5 amps, has 4 modes of charging (charge, discharge, storage, and balance), has a balance lead and comes with a computer program to track the progress of the battery you are charging. Not bad for $60 shipped, even if it only does half of what it claims. Finally found out my super chipmunk is actually a Carl Goldberg Chipmunk 400 and got my hands on the manual to see what battery it actually needs. So I ordered 2 "Chinese specials" or "Ebay batteries" 1500mAh 25C 11.1v batteries. Most people don't trust them but I have been flying on a pair of them for my slow stick for the longest time without having any problems. Last but not least I ordered several Hyperion 240mAh batteries for my micro sukhoi because it really needs better batteries.

All the stuff I ordered is here! It wasn't a lot of stuff but none the less its here. Cant wait to fly
But now I have to find a set of machined screws for the motor for the radian because two of the stock ones are stripped. Next week I am going to place several orders so I can get some new batteries, light strips, and a new charger seeing as how mine died
Cant wait to wire up the radian with lights so I can bug some people at night.

It seems I am always waiting. Waiting for parts, waiting for the end of this shift, waiting to go work out and waiting for the next time to fly. Just waiting.

So today in SC is cold and wet. Yesterday I flew my radian and decided to do some stupid stuff with it that the radian is not designed for. The end result, much to my surprise, was a very cool show and a very happy pilot. Well if I did it once I could do it again...not so much. Broke 4 blades and broke the fuselage in lots of places that were taped on the spot so I could fly some more. Crashed the slow stick and broke a wheel, prop and bent a prop shaft. And if that wasn't enough I decided to fix my jeep today which consisted of replacing a thermostat that was stuck open and replacing the o rings on the fuel injectors because I knew one of them was leaking but not which one. And as it goes I finished everything only to find that fuel line wouldn't reconnect with the quick fitting. It took me 2 hours to find a replacement just for me to rush home, fix it, get dressed for work and leave. I made to work just in time for it to start to rain/snow. Walked in and the boss was here and I didn't have time to shave. So now he is not very happy with me. But the new props are on order as well as a new canopy. Now for it to quit raining so I can fly.

So as most everyone knows that its been cold everywhere! I have had the last couple of days off with the exception of yesterday, today and tomorrow. Well I have been flying my sukhoi with the new set of lights that I have on it about 6-6:30 and it seems the perfect time of day, just really cold. I love the radian but its cold and after so long I don't want to fly anymore. Well I had to work a double yesterday from 7 to 11 and today from 7 to 7. Well it just so happens that yesterday was 62* with little wind and today was 65* with no wind! It was a beautiful day and I'm stuck inside staring at my jeep with my micro sukhoi knowing if I take a break and go fly I will get fired. I'm really considering just getting up and going flying right now.
Update: Decided to go fly, got to my jeep only to find that I left the batteries a the house

I learned something yesterday while flying the sukhoi. When flying low and slow, turn the high rates off the ailerons.

Today I lost a brother that has been in my family for more than 20 years. Shortly after my 1st birthday my dad rescued you from an abandoned house and you became part of the family. You were there with me through the best of my good times and you were there through the worst of the bad. I know you are in a better place now but you will not know how much you will be missed by me. You were always there for me even if you didn't know it. Most people thought you were only a cat but to me you were a brother who I have know my entire life. I miss you...

My sukhoi finally got back from horizon just the other day and I couldnt wait to fly. Plugged in the battery to make sure everything worked only to find the aileron servo is just crap and wont return to center if you roll right.
I am just a little upset but horizon is sending me a new servo. Now for the waiting.

Well I am actually kinda busy at the moment but the servo went out on the sukhoi and I had to send it back to Horizon so they could replace the plane. Just got back from destroying the radian. Turns out that shifting wind=crash. It wouldnt have been that bad but it did a nose dive on to concrete sooooo.....yea.

So I crashed the sukhoi, actually crashed it and bent the prop shaft. I got some 5043 props, a prop adapter, a new prop shaft and a P-51 motor because I need more power and dont feel like doing the brushless upgrade yet. Should have it together tonight but I work 3rd tomorrow so I wont be able to fly it until sat. morning. cant wait

Well so much has happened in a month. I bought and crashed a Parkzone Sukhoi multiple times. I tell you what those little suckers (sukhoi and p-51) are fun and very durable. That is until a slow stick decided to taxi into it and destroyed the fuselage.
Flying the Radian was excellent until I hit a set of portable stadium lights in the middle of the field. They took a chunk out of the wing and and when I got home my cat decided to use it as a scratching post. So flying the radian is going to be on hold for a while.

So I decided to get a new plane for me to play with. I havent decided yet on which plane I should get. its up in the air between the micro sukhoi or the micro p-51. I have heard good and bad things about each and im leaning towards the sukhoi because I like how its more aerobatic.

looks like a beautiful day outside, its 61 degrees sunny with no clouds and the wind is blowing like there is no tomorrow. Its almost the perfect day. Tomorrow is supposed to be sunny with no wind and 73. I hate this time of year when the weather swings from cold to hot.

well, it finally happened. I crashed
Really I didn't crash because I wasn't in control when it happened but none the less my radian hit the ground. The screw for the elevator came loose after the first flight and when I went to launch for the second time I pulled up and it went up, when it pitched up too far I pushed down and it pulled up some more. luckly when it hit the ground it landed on a hill and didnt damage the blades or the firewall. It did break the fuselage in half but I am going to fix that before I go to Tennessee.

It is now 6:06am and I have been sitting at work looking at so many different thread topics that my eyes are starting to hurt. Finally got the tail fixed and added spoilers to my radian. but truth be told I would have left it stock if I would have known about how it handles now. Well come next payday I plan on ordering a new set of wings.

tomorrow I plan on finally getting around to buying some magnets for the tail and wing mod along with some hinges for the tail because the tape has come off.
