Bits of HK quad kit used to make this H quad. This works very nicely. Great for separating stuff when flying FPV with use of compass etc

Trying something new to eliminate a bit of resonance for my next heavy lift Tricopter.
22mm CF with a short section of 14 mm CF cast in place with some liquid urethane. Probably about 45mm of tube inside the other. Proof will be in the eating I guess but bench tests are lookin good

Latest tricopter activity with the RC Timer APM 2.5 running arducopter.
Flies very nicely. After trying a number of different Fc's including Naza, wii, KK and gyros I have to say this is my favourite.
Equipped with WDR Seawolf Pixim camera. Iftron 250mw VTX and home made CL antenna.
Excellent for FPV
RTL, loiter etc are very effective

Bought the APM2.5 from RCTimer.
Made a large HQuad but it turned out a bit flexible for my liking so it has been stripped for the new version.

Got tired of my battery packs being wrecked after detatching from the tri on those frequent hard landings

The velcro is from HK. The strap is back to back hook and eye.
Have fitted OSD with gps so it would be nice if it still worked after crashing...er....landing hard

Polyethylene tube mounting blocks. Very cheap and easy to make.
They will not break due to the durability of Polyethylene.
Lighter than Nylon and Ali.
They can be used in one piece without the need to split clamp as they squeeze up under tension from the mounting bolts.
These are 30 x 30 x 8mm for using with 16mm tube.
I run a small knurl on the end of the pipe to help the motor block grip. This can be done with 40 grit sandpaper if needed.
I have not managed to break one yet even through some spectacular crashes

Some early FPV with the tri

Ok some more photo's of my latest Wii tricopter.
I've changed the vibe mount again. This one is real simple and works very well.
Changed the yaw mount but the effect is the same

I'm using Polyethylene for the tube clamps and motor mounts as it is less dense than the nylon equivalent.

Just recently made a ProgBox for the Wiicopter
This is an easy build.
The only hard bit is when the unit is first operated and the buttons need to be callibrated.

The forum this is from is in German but the main is in english and the circuit is standard for the Arduino with a LCD

See the guide here http://wiki.rc-heli-fan.org/index.ph..._Keypad_Shield

The video's here are of the same Wiicopter with 370mm arms.
The first has 10 x 47 props and is very stable.
Put 11 x 47 props on and it went to pieces.
If your'e having troubles with stability on your Wii machine then a change of props may be in order.
