So, after my lanyard hook mounted phone holder fail (, i decided to double-down on my transmitter phone FPV experience and ordered a neck mounted phone holder. Well that arrived, and while it works a lot better than the lanyard hook mount, about 1hr after it was delivered, my Little Pilot VR Goggles were delivered. 14 days from ordering, 11 days since shipment (AliExpress free shipping, pretty impressed!)

I realise i look like an idiot wearing it. Even my wife said so. And despite the fact i know these will have next to no resale value (everyone has either Fatsharks, or Eachine EV800D/EV100 in Japan), I think these really are the best goggles for a beginner FPV pilot, especially for flying inside your house. I can walk to pick up my crashed drone without having to take them off. I can see when one of my babies is about to jump on me. I can even fly my drone LOS for a bit before switching to concentrate on the screen. I have no eye problems but i hear its great for those with glasses.

And wow what a difference to the OTG receiver. Something so 'simple' about this. It just works, the reception is clear, the screen is super easy on the eyes. I feel i can fly much better on this, and maintain height better, despite there being only 0.1s delay on the OTG receiver by my measurements.

Oh and it has a switchable centerline on the goggle OSD! Which is great because neither my Silverware quad or Beta65s Lite have it.

I know I have not finished the Barling, and the Anson is a work in progress too, but I couldn’t resist starting the Triplane. Made good progress this weekend. Very challenging and complicated build. Lots of design issues to figure out...

Martial law , house arrest , social distancing , call it what ever !

I have spent too much time window shopping ..

Anyways , some links for anyone that wants to invest some down time window shopping ..

Still downloading games , so may as well window shop some more ..

Games ?

Warthunder - PITA when the BS kicks in , especially bad in Tanks . Fantastic graphics and game play though , if you can deal with the BS .

World of Warships - Great game , BS factor no where as high as Warthunder .

Counter Strike : GO - CS always suffered from being hacked to death ( Cheating ) More bot's than you could shake your fist at !

I have recently designed a yacht hull on SketchUp based on the new ClubSwan 36 however with no foil and had a thought of seeing if I could build a Radio Controlled yacht out of it.

My first question is has anyone got any experience with moulding the hull and the best possible way to make the hull, my intentions are to build the boat from plastic or possibly carbon - with this material are there any reinforcements that need to be put to support the hull.

My second question is how to add and attach a keel, rudder and rig and where can these be purchased or how to make them.

I have a dragon65 and so I know slightly how the procedure may follow in building the boat.

My aim is for the boat to have an LOA of 1 meter
And does anybody know how much this will cost to build.

Im looking for any possible advice and knowledge.

And for anyone wanting more information on the hull design I can send you through the 3D file

Thank you

While I'm waiting to get the Magnetic Fixture System, I built a magnetic board from local Home Depot supplies. I got a 26 gauge steel panel (30" x 24") and a 1/4" MDF project board which was supposedly 36" x 24" but was oversize. The oversize was nice because I was able to have a small border - no worries about fingers on the metal edges. I glued it together with a thin layer of epoxy.

The 26 gauge is thin and gives less than half the strength of the yellow "quad hands" plate. I hope I'm not disappointed in the holding ability. If so I'll have to do more legwork to track down a thicker sheet.

I have been reviewing the various threads about Soft Touch laminating film, which looks to be really good stuff. Downside is the price; everyone refers to it at $95 for a 500 foot roll from

But I just googled and found this source in Ontario, that appears to sell the same thing for $48 a roll. With tax and shipping ($26 - ugh) it would cost me $75, but still a bit better than MyBinding,( which has free shipping).

Does anyone have experience with this product who can verify that it is really the same thing, at about half the price?

I have spent half the day window shopping ( internet ) and my brain is ready to explode !

I did see a few interesting things , but with minimum orders around 500 to 1000 pieces ( Not dropping $2500 USD on a foam model )

I would like to see a distributor taking on a larger range of models , be nice ..

The other problem is the Ozzi banana ($) , it only worth a little more than half a banana ..

So everything costs more !

I will admit I have a few models to fly , but the weather is not playing nice !

Plus , the low iQ of some from the land of Oz is worrying . Is social distancing really as difficult as rocket science ? ( Apparently )

This is GBLynden's E-flite UMX Turbo Timber Flight Review In Strong Wind With Bonus Footage.

GBLynden's E-flite UMX Turbo Timber Flight Review In Strong Wind With Bonus Footage (3 min 33 sec)

Here are my Review Notes for this E-flite UM Turbo Timber:

- Even with I prop I bent without knowing it before the maiden, it still flew really well!
- Wheel plastic piece update over the first E-flite UMX Timber
- It has a 3-bladed prop like the E-flite UMX Cirrus
- A higher 3400kv brushless motor comes with it for more power
- The plane can fly with 550s as seen in some of my videos.
- Its lights all over the plane are awesome!
- The new chipset they use in this Timber UM allows for telemetry, just not the new advanced Smart Telemetry!

- Longer nose compared to the original UMX Timber.
- Shorter flight times compared to the Ultra Micro Timber.

The front yard was right on the verge of becoming somewhat solid...before this latest "Gully Washer" rolled through and returned it to a near-marsh condition, so no circle-turning gonna happen out there.

Didn't feel like working on any projects, and couldn't spray paint in the liquid air, so decided it was time to turn some fuel to noise, and jam it all together on Movie Maker.

I promise that SOMETHING will actually fly at some point, and I'll video it!
