Hi all,
Thought I'd share this. I was recently presented with a flag which was flown over Omaha Beach, Normandy. I had it framed along with a blood tube full of sand I collected from the beach, seemed to turn out well.

I am very fortunate to be stationed over here, and try to share the experiences I am privileged to be able to be a part of. The history in Europe is unparalleled... I try to preserve momentos like this as a reminder of those who sacrificed before us.

Want to fly in “interesting places” yet have some concern about losing your Micro FPV Quad if you do? Flying near mountains, over forests, or even over water and capturing amazing videos would sure be fun, right?!? What happens though if you lose video or worse, your radio control link? 😲 That could be a scary thought! No worries! Today, we go over when you lose video you can have your Quad return to you with just the flip of a switch! Or, how about if you lose your radio control link, your Quad returns to you automatically! Sound too good to be true? Here we cover how to setup Betaflight GPS Rescue mode both on a switch AND using the Failsafe option so you can fly anywhere freely with no worries at all and demonstrate its use during two test flights!

Here is a quick pic while waiting for parts to arrive. I'm working on dry fitting the framework, and soon will be doing some plankwork. Next I will be creating access hatches and lightening the overall frame.🇺🇸

The new MiG-17 edf is made I think by AF-Model, and distributed by Hobbyking under the Avios brand,

https://hobbyking.com/en_us/avios-mi...m-edf-pnf.html

It is also available as a kit, which does not include retracts or sevos :

https://hobbyking.com/en_us/avios-mi...f-arf-kit.html

A whole bunch of spare parts are listed here :

https://hobbyking.com/en_us/catalogs...iG-17%20fresco

Some interesting features of this one are the custom retracts (with custom controller) and the use of (presumably more reliable) 11 x 9g analog servos.

The MiG-17 is made by AF-Model ("Air Fly Limited") : www.af-model.com

The full-scale MiG-17 has a wingspan of 9.63m and a length of 11.26m :

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mikoyan-Gurevich_MiG-17

whereas the model has a wingspan of 120cm and a length of 142cm, which gives an approximate scale of ~ 1:8.0 .

Flight #13 - King Kong/LDARC Tiny Wing 450 - Fun Flight ;-)

Here is a link to the Video:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SfhDw7Ro32g

This item is courtesy of Banggood.
I thought this Tiny Wing would make for an excellent Micro FPV Wing ;-)
It has several flight modes; 6-axis, 3-axis, and manual.
It's made from EPP Foam which should make it extremely durable ;-)

It's Flight time!

Get one today from Banggood!

An update to the FT Edge build process. The fuse is starting to take shape now! I also talk about the different glue I am using...Titebond. Plus sharing any other little tips, tricks, and issues that I have encountered so far.

I have been flying Airplanes for 25+ years and Helicopters for 15+ years.

Currently flying larger Gassers, small foamies and 80MM EDF's. Love them all. Each one has its own characteristics. Some of my old 4 strokes are still in use on 15+ old airframes.

This is my primo build. Highly recommend if your looking for a light agile 2" that looks super cool and flies awesome.

Specs:
GEPRC 12a 4-1 AIO FC
1104 6000kv motors for power 1103 7500-8000kv for lighter more balanced flying.
Runcam Nano2 camera with optional adapter. (get two they melt deform and break causing jello after 20 or so flights)
AKK Nano2. Not recommend because it's too large. Get the Eachine Nano or HGLRC Nano, get the 20*20 you printed stack from banggood for the TBS Nano to mount the HGLRC or eachine stack.
With these motors the toothpick 65mm props don't work. I use the GF 2540 there awesome but the Emax AVAN 2.5" props are better. On a 2s GNB 450 they get about 4minutes. This setup is designed for a 3s 550 GNB for blistering performance.
.
To get smart audio solder up green wire from vtx to tx1 on FC go into BF under ports setup urart1 on periphials to TBS SmartAudio.
Video wire from camera goes to Vi(Video In). Video wire from VTX goes to Vo(out) on FC.

Setup current sensor to 210 on BF

Let er rip tater chip!

The Valiant 1.3 Landing Gear (E-flite - Valiant 1.3 Landing gear set - 4955) can be used on other models with a little modification. I have purchased (under $15) and installed about 8 so far in Apprentices, Timbers, and Turbo Timbers. The gear comes with screws and a tailwheel that fits the Valiant. The gear might be on backorder and I had to wait a few weeks for my latest shipment. If you are looking for one of the best SAFE intermediate sport designs purchase the whole model (with the AR636 RX) as it’s my favorite plane to instruct with. It is slightly smaller, faster, and more aerobatic than the Timber but can land slow with the nice flap design.

For the Turbo Timber remove the screws that secure the stock landing gear. I put all the wheels, legs, springs and parts in a large plastic baggy. This way you can trial fit the Valiant gear into the battery bay without interference. The U shape portion of the gear is designs so that the battery can fit between the legs. I put the U shape all the way aft in the battery bay and secure it with low temp hot glue. If you need to remove the gear then use 95 percent alcohol and a small brush to break the bond. For my original Timber (that does not have the 4 carbon fiber reinforcement tubes) I made up some balsa ply sides to reinforce the foam fuselage. These sides support hardwood so the included screws can be used to remove the landing gear for float gear installation or for belly landings.

The wheel...Continue Reading

Banggood Coupon: BGgeprc909 http://bit.ly/GepPhantom
Coupon2: AFFBG10
This is the smallest freestyle FPV racer. Just as big as my palm.
The advantage of the phantom is that it has only good components. A good EOS2 camera, a good, 200mW video transmitter and you can install any receiver with which you have a good range.

Pro:
- VTX 25-200mW
- EOS2 camera
- F4 12A ESC's 16x16mm stack
- support all receiver

Cont:
- heavier than Salifly-X
- less flighttime that Salifly-X

As more and more hobbyist are catering to waterproof servo,
AGFrc make a series of Full metal IP67 standard servos and low profile servos.
They are really outstanding !! !
They apply the contactless magnetic angle sensor technique ,perform extremely well under water,
Adopt AGFrc patented strengthen stainless steel gear, contactless magnetic angle sensor for a longer using life.

We have tested them for several months, and gathering good feed backs from our clients' testing result too.
The standard series are the best match for all 1:8 / 1:10 buggy, monster trucks, crawlers.
It’s also a good choice for some of the industrial device applications.
