After a couple of months (O.K. 1+ year) of sanding, glassing, sanding, re-glassing, sanding etc. I finally finished my TG GS P-47. I think I got one of the last "kits" being that it was an ARC (Almost ready to cover)....kit contents were the same as the ARF, but I fiberglassed the whole thing, put in a DLE 55, painted it and finally finished it (well almost). Good enough to fly

Test flown over the Thanksgiving weekend and am very pleased with the results.

Finally got all the bugs out and she flies great....almost J-3 like

Very happy to report my smoke lasted over 7 MINUTES (20oz of oil) because I changed muffler and used a Atomizing smoke oil injection nozzle from 'Crankcase'

Flew it again yesterday....got 2 minutes 15 seconds of smoke running full time at full throttle.

Boy does this plane fly great!

Just put the finishing touches on her tonight...just received my Tru-Turn spinner Hope to test fly weather permitting SOON!

Picked up a Hangar 9 RV-4....I like it!

Man, this plane has been a PIA.....been working on it since November and finally 'almost' finished it and gave it back to its owner. Things like 36 pages of instructions for JUST the canopy! Then parts didn't fit, retracts worked, then didn't and THREE controllers later they are working again....from what everyone says this is the BEST P-51 they have ever flew....sure hope so!

Well now that the Escapade MX has met its expiration date...I was working on the H9 P-51 30cc for a friend....

Had the misfortune of a dead stick right after take off and tried to turn left. I believe I was 4-5' off the ground and used too much aileron and not enough rudder and it pointed itself toward the ground and bit the dust....

Assembling this for a friend...so far so good as this plane has some pre-painted cockpit interior parts that FIT!

My buddy had a flame out just as he passed the end of the runway on take off and did a pancake into the rough stuff. So he purchased another wing and here it is getting it's glitter and stuff....

A friend brought over a dinked up Spitfire that needed a new wing panel, rudder and a few other 'things' that also needed some attention. The plane was originally electric powered, so the engine box had to be adjusted for a DLE35RA.

I wonder if he will ever fly this puppy.......clock is tick'n.....

Finished her up a couple of days ago....came in at 22 lbs 8 oz.

Can't wait for the maiden....maybe next week - going up to the low 70's the rest of this week and into next week

Decided to make a hatch so fueling, switches, etc could be accessed easier than the manner in which the manual stated. Took some glass cloth and 30 minute epoxy to create a curved glass hatch. Cut out the size of the hatch and used that as a template.

Just finished the wing....still in three pieces, but all the work is completed. Did find out the center wing panel weighs a bit over 7 lbs and the outer panels both 1.5 lbs.

Noticed the 'Craftsmanship' on the center section could use some improvement!

Landing gear blocks are HARD wood - the horizontal pegs protruded into the space needed for the retract so they were sanded down.

Note the new hole for the forward lg screws. The 'supplied' location from Robart was too far forward so some new holes were drilled.

Working on the wing some.....sure wish I had the time to put in gear doors!

LOT of wrinkles and very hard to iron out! Epoxy coating the flap/aileron panels - that should hold up very well.

Put all the hardware in little bags - makes finding parts much easier that way.

Going to re-drill the retract units...see where the front two screws are supposed to go? NO WAY - one drilling and it would break out!
