Braap 4s, just messing around. (2 min 30 sec)

I had a HyperLow Vert Freestyle frame that I just couldn't manage to take a liking to. It was a great frame but I honestly think it was prematurely released.
The arms on the Vert Freestyle were pretty thick but they they'd become loose during flight or during a very minor tumble.
So I decided to strip the parts off my HyperLow Vert Freestyle frame and purchase an X-Labs Braap.
The Braap is very good frame and it offers very good fpv camera protection. Although the frame is only really meant to house a 4-in-1 ESC/Flight Controller stack. Mainly because the arms are far to thin to successfully mount individual esc's on each arm. I really enjoy this frame and it offers everything that the HyperLow Freestyle did not. The Braap can run both 5" and 6" propellers with ease. Although the top plate on the Braap is very short so that requires you to mount the lipos crosswise on the top plate. I've been running the Braap on both 4s and 5s lipos without much of a problem. The Ummagawd 2306-2150kv motors truly shine when flying 5s but also fair decently on 4s. I've recently loaded BetaFlight 3.4.0 (RC1) onto the Braap and have almost fully tuned it. It should be fully tuned within a couple days.

Im looking to purchase the NGH GT17CC engine. Is this engine good? It will be going into a .60 big stik - I want to go gas for this plane. If you have other engines that you think would work please write me back.

Thanks!

This is what happens when I decide to take up my completely stock 1-year old Freewing Rebel V2 70mm EDF Sport Jet out for an aerobatic flight and unknowingly get recorded by my fellow RC Pilot Buddy Mike, aka "Deuces Wild." Completely candid, unrehearsed, and just letting loose.

Freewing Rebel V2 70mm EDF Jet PNP - Candid Flight (5 min 17 sec)

Taking advantage of the clear skies and warm weather this weekend.

Hope you enjoy the candid flight!

I'm compiling a thread to showcase the various ordinance I have modeled and uploaded to Thingiverse for others to download. Thread will be updated as I add more ordinance and complete painting/decals.

Model Downloads for 3D Printing
All these ordinance listed in the thread are uploaded to Thingiverse so anyone with a 3D printer can download the files and print for themselves. One thing to note is that all files are uploaded with a Creative Commons - Attribution - Non-Commercial - No Derivatives license.

Direct links to the specific parts will be posted in the various posts below. For a link to all designs I have created you can go here and browse through the list:
https://www.thingiverse.com/DirtyDee/designs

3D Printing Service
If you do not have access to a printer, I offer my services to printing the various parts. I print all ordinance in ABS, as it is more heat resistant to temperature as well as it being able to be welded/glued together with acetone. Parts can even be smoothed with a careful application of acetone via a brush or in a vapor chamber.

Optional Assembly Fee
If you would like for the parts to be pre-assembled, the cost will be $5 for each part. If you buy the LAU-117 with the AGM-65 the assembly fee for both will just be $5 instead of $10. All parts are glued together with acetone.

Shipping Cost
For a majority of parts and bundles, I charge $10 for shipping/packaging.

If the order contains 4 or more pieces, the shipping rate may increase depending on what parts are ordered and if anything is pre-assembled.

How to Purchase
If you would like to order some ordinance, send me a PM with the list of ordinance and any assembly services you would like. I will then respond with the total cost with shipping as well as my PayPal information.

Well before moving on to the G3 I need to complete the build on the Speed. I sold mine some time back and regretted it, found one on the Group and will finish it with Hyperion HP-DS11-AMB all around, so here we go.

i always loved the idea of a seaplane, but most of them were either rather complicated, or looked like a recipe for drowning my radio gear (and the motor, and the lipo)

enter thomas B., prolific designer with a thing for depron and seaplanes; this is his great little pseudo-schneider entry, the jupiter shrimp (links to plans in that thread); he's a regular contributor to modell aviator, and makes me wish i was more capable of comprehending german - ah well... google translate to the rescue

to join the fun, you'll need :
(minimum) 4 channel radio
10-12amp 2-3s esc
3x 5gm (or so) servos
a swag of 6mm and some 3mm depron
a 460 mah or so 3s lipo
a small brushless outrunner to turn a 6-7" prop

the design is very basic; my build complicated it a bit; not necessary for a very fine flyer, but it's in my nature to take the road less travelled and the education gained towards my next depron build is its own reward

anyway, some pictures to grab your interest, and you can follow this link to the rest of the photos of my build

This plane is the 3D Hobby Shop 75" Edge 540. I'm partial to white planes so I took the orange color scheme and stripped the covering off right out of the box and recovered it in UltraCote White.

The plane has a new DLE-35RA motor and Hitec 7954 servos all around. The elevator and rudder servos are equipped with SWB arms. It has a Tech Aero cutoff switch and an Emcotec switch from Esprit Model in Florida. It also has a Xoar 21x8 prop inside a Tru-Turn 3.5" Spinner.

The motor cowling and canopy were painted in a local auto body shop and the paint looks like a car finish.

This plane has not been flown as of June 23, 2018
