Most guys who know me and fly with me will peg me as a jet guy. But... Sometimes a little unpredictability is a good thing. Since so many quality ARF's are on offer these days, and since I'm always tight for time, it made sense that my next project would be one of this breed. What didn't make sense to some of my buddies was the choice of a C-150! Granted. It's not a jet, it's not fast, it's not much of what I'm usually flying. But what it has, it's got in spades. I'll identify this quality as "freedom" - for now.

Why freedom? Well, it's probably because I associate the American General Aviation (GA) movement from the 1940's through the 80's as the ultimate expression of personal freedom. My earlist recollections of general aviation are from growing up in East San Jose California. We had a little airport south of our home that was on the driving path toward the local shopping mall. The mall was where my big sisters used to like to go, so they could look at all the horrible fashions on offer in the late 1970's. As a 4 or 5 year old boy this was not a good thing. But as soon as I realized this little airport would be in view, both coming and going, I could endure those shopping trips. There were so many Cessna, Piper, Bellanca, Beechcraft and Taylorcraft aircraft (among others) parked along the road side fence at that airport, it was like a visual overload for a kid like me.
