Hey folks! Got a new method to mount the lipo on your starter!

10-24 5" Phillips head bolt x2
10-24 coupling nut x2.
10-24 shoulder screw 1/2" x 2

Mounting plate - I used wal mart cutting board I had around

Zip ties

The pic shows pretty well the install. Just pull the cone and take the old bolts out and the new ones in! Then countersink the plate for the small screws. Use some foam over the pad, then zip tie the batt on.

Hello, found this trimmer out at the farm, and we chucked it up in the lathe (yes, with the crank still in the case), and turned the crank to 8mm (nut size) to put the prop on!

I'm gonna try the gas/glow thing, as it does away with all the complexity of ignition and shaves the weight of the flywheel and coil unit.

It has a neat bolt pattern on the rear case to simply bolt it to the firewall of the plane if it is the correct length out of the cowl.

We are gonna turn some prop adapters in the morning, and see how this thing runs on a mix of gas and glow fuel.
I've read up on the RCU thread, and am ready to undertake....

If this works, the local Stihl dealer has a few saw/weed eaters that I will continue this on for friends.

There isn't much to show on the build, but here are the final pics. The gear is made from a piece of AL, used the nibblers to cut it in half. The gear kept splayin out, so I cut one of my wifes hair ties, then drilled out a hole in the AL, put an end through and put a half hitch on it. Hair ties work great for bungees, and are cheap too!
HK gyro to make the video stable on the front.

She is a bit overpowered, but it gets off the ground quick, which is nice as I like to film in some tight areas.

comment if you have any qs!

Well, here goes the blog on the rebuild of my flying start airplane from hobby shack. I've recovered the horizontal/ele. I think I'm ready start bolting this thing together. *This kit originally comes with a pull start magnum .15! Pretty darn cool

I was using this plane for mounting the helmet cam on, and it took a bad spill.
Now that I found another kit, It will be back in the air in no time!
