Percent Battery Charge monitor, Lua Script for Taranis (tested on the QX7)

OK , here is the package with my script and supporting documentation.
the script is "my_bat.lua" , ( remove ".txt" from the filename).
It should be stored in the memory card under the directory SCRIPTS/MIXES
The script produces an integer number, the Percent Charge remaining.
It may be displayed on the Telemetry screen and may also be read out loud by a special function.
(see screen shot pics of these screens)
The assumption is that there is a Voltage sensor in A2.
https://alofthobbies.com/frsky-batte...r-fbvs-01.html

The instructions may be followed from the attached file "Model Script Example Automatic Battery Cell Detection.docx " , from where my script was derived .
The table of percent battery charge data was taken from the package "battery_checker.zip"
The XL spreadsheet included in "LiPo_disch.zip" has the cell Voltage - Charge data and charts .

Credit goes to these sources for most of the material I used :

I hope it works for you !

Northeast Sailplane Products Shark Slope Glider ARF. 60" wingspan. AUW 710g.

The ARF Kit was purchased at the Baylands barbecue, raffle , fly-in, and swap meet organized by Ray M.

Sean dared me to purchase this kit , and I did it (while he was not looking) .

Maiden flight at Coyote Hills.

Flying with Chad, who gave a few pointers on trimming and CG location.

Notice the scary launch, his launches were much better after trimming ! Many Thanks Chad .

This is my first real slope racer plane and I am very happy with it !

Bought it at Michael's for $8 , could not resist to make a conversion.

Added ailerons from a donor glider. There are two HS55 aileron servos on the wings. Added a 4 mm carbon fiber tube spar into the wings.
Cut the trailing edge of the horizontal stabilizer straight , to add the balsa elevator. The elevator servo is located at the tail.
Cut the fuselage 9" from the nose to make a firewall and motor mount .

Wingspan : 48", length 28".
CG location : 140 mm behind the leading edge of the wing at the root.

Motor : " Blue wonder " , 25g .
Propeller : 8*4.7 GWS .

this is the blog entry for the powered launch dolly.

Starting from a toy RC car, I modified it into a motorized dolly.

the dolly is self powered , running from its own 3S LiPo battery , with a 20A brushed ESC, FrSky receiver.
There are two brushed motors wired in parallel, with gearing. Each motor drives one rear wheel. .
Aileron and rudder are mixed for the steering servo channel , so that dolly pilots may steer with the right and left sticks.
The Throttle is on the left stick.

here is the video of the first day launching the PZ Radian at the Bayside RC Club.

After having kept it a couple of years in the attic, waiting for the right time to maiden, I have finally decided to fly it at the Bayside RC club.
There is a nice geotextile runway where many types of airplanes are flown, gas , electric , EDFs , and turbines.

here is the video :

Scratch built 40 inch (1 m) wingspan "Zagi" inspired flying wing. It is 5/6 scale of the original 48 inch wingspan Zagi.
The propeller is in the nose, in tractor arrangement, for noise reduction reason..
The wing was built armin style with foam board, paper peeled off. Reinforced with pallet strapping. Covered with clear packing tape and then shrunk with covering iron.
Total flying weight is 650 g.

Video taken during late afternoon and sunset at the Bald Mountain site in Walnut Creek, using Sony pocket cam mounted on modified safety helmet.

Got the airframe for free at Baylands Park , with a broken wing, it needed some TLC to get in flying condition.

Many thanks , anonymous donor !

It has a 300 W in-runner motor, Kv =3900 RPM / V.
So, it operates in the ballpark of high 30 k RPM.
The propeller is a thin 5 in x 4 in

Battery LiPo 3S, 30C, 2200 mAh.
Wing span is 80 in, wing root chord is 7 in , wing area is 3.4 sqft.
All Up Weight is 45.9 oz, wing loading is 13.5 oz / sqft.
CG still needs a bit of trimming, feels nose heavy ...
Notice in the second launch, the visit of my friend the hawk .

Flying at Lariat Canyon, Walnut Creek, CA.

my Striker F-27C project started by purchasing two unpainted, bare fuselages from Joey at Baylands Park.

Wanted to have it set up as a slope glider, but did not have much success with this idea. I wanted to see it fly, but the wind conditions were never right.

Converted the model to a motorized craft using a 24g blue wonder type of motor.
It was kind of anemic, and I changed the motor.

With a Bixler motor (40g , Kv = 1400 RPM/V , rewound by me), flies great.
I am using a 7*6 APC propeller and the battery is 3S , with capacities from 1000 mAh to 2200 mAh.

Entry for the Parkzone Corsair.

Bought it used from my flying buddy Greg, who helped me so much in the early days when I was starting to fly.
The plane has a 44" wingspan, and is hand launched and is set up as a belly lander.

got from member cityevader a Slope Monkey for free (Thanks!) .
Tried to slope it without success, and got tired of waiting for the right conditions.
Then decided to convert it to a powered plane.
Used a Park 300 motor, 800 mAh 3S battery and 7*6 propeller.

flies great !

bought a used Zagi wing at the swap meet .

It was set up as a sloper, but I converted it to electric power.
Used a PJS 3D 1000 (90 g) motor, with APC 8*6 Sport propeller. The battery is 3S 35C 2200 mAh.
